The Soap Ratings    (w/e Feb 21st)
If you like General Hosptial, you're in for a real treat. On the week that Brenda left, the soap tore up the ratings charts.

Households
 1  The Young & The Restless     5.1   16    -3
 2  General Hosptial             4.1   12    24
    The Bold & the Beautiful     4.1   12     -
 4  As The World Turns           3.6   11     6
 5  Days of Our Lives            3.5   10    -5
 6  All My Children              3.3   10     7
    One Life To Live             3.3   10     7
 8  Guilding Light               2.7    8    -3
 9  Passions                     2.1    6    11
10  Port Charles                 1.9    6    12

As you can see, "GH" notched its best ratings in recent memory, tying with "B&B" for the number two spot. Only 3 of the soaps posted losses over last year, which is probably more indicative of the snowstorms that ravaged the eastern part of the country that week. But still, with 24% growth over last year, "GH" sure is impressive.

Women 18-49
 1  General Hosptial             3.3   17
 2  The Young & The Restless     2.9   15
 3  The Bold & the Beautiful     2.5   14
One Life To Live             2.5   14
 5  Days of Our Lives            2.4   12
    All My Children              2.4   12
 7  As The World Turns           2.1   12
 8  Passions                     1.7    9
    Guilding Light               1.7    9
10  Port Charles                 1.3    7

"GH" also tore up this demo, attracting its highest women 18-49 rating in years. And remember when "Days" used to cominate this demo? Not anymore. The soap is now tied for fifth with "AMC," even watching traditional demo inferiors life "OLTL" and "B&B" surpass it.
And although I don't have the women 18-34 numbers (NBC has stopped posting them since the "Days" slump started last month), "GH" took it with a 2.7/15 rating, the first time a soap has beat "Days in more than 10 years in the demo. Cheers!
