And
give a prize to "General Hospital." The soap ended the summer with tis
best ratings since last summer, and was even up for the first time this
year. "AMC" and "OLTL" went along for the ride, showing only slight
declines.
Over on NBC, "Days" was in the mid range, down a bit, whike "Passions"
was up only slightly, despite huge demo gains. As for CBS... "GL"
continued to slide into oblivion, "B&B" slipped to fourth overall,
tying its worst ratings ever (set last week).

Way to go, "General Hospital" ! for the first time in recent memory,
the
show took the week from perannual top rated "Days," scoring it's best
numbers
in a long time. "Y&R" also did well, drawing it's best average in
months.
Alos golden were "AMC" and "OLTL." "Passions," meanwhile, tied its best
numbers in the demo ever, and then there were the rest.

"Passions," "Passions," "Passions." That last official week before the
start of school sent this show to within 4 shares of "Days," its
lead-in.
It was by far "Passions" best week of the summer, as well as being
within
a hair of a series record. ABC's soap weren't too shabby either, with
all
of them hitting summer highs. CBS's soaps weren't so lucky, however.
