| Mid
Season TV Report
Saturday
Saturday
is
always the toughest night on tv, and it shows: the networks have really
stopped trying on the night. The result: CBS is winning in viewers, but
last in adults, while Fox is usually taking the valuable demos.
8:00pm
Winner:
Loser:
Touched By An Angel (CBS)
In
one of the
toughest slots on all of network tv, there is not one winner to be
found.
"Cops" (92 & 74) is showing some strength of late, but still isn't
very strong. NBC's movie (90) has marginally out rated ABC's (95),
while
the one true loser in the hour is "Touched By An Angel," which has sunk
to 79th, nearly reaching the lows its drew in its very first season.
Now
wonder's it's the last season.
9:00pm
Winner: The
District (CBS)
Loser: Movies
(ABC, NBC)
Again,
another
tough timeslot, but one show has come out the winner. "The District"
was
moved up an hour, and although its ratings have slipped, it still ranks
53rd on the season. The only other original programming in the
hour,
"Americas Most Wanted," is at 75th.
10:00pm
Winner: Meet
My Folks (NBC)
Loser: The
Agency (CBS)
NBC
was a loser
in the hour, but it brought back "Meet My Folks" to respectable
ratings.
Though it's only rated 81st on the season, it's winning its slot in
adults
by a wide margin. Losing in the slot is "The Agency" (68), whose
transition
to Saturday's hasn't been so smooth.
