Chapter 23: Far Away
Sheridan placed the key into the door and turned it. She entered her old apartment in France. The last time she was here was with Jean Luc. All these memories started to flood back, but now her life was with Luis and it wasn't for Jean Luc's affair she never would have met Luis. "Wow Sheridan this apartment is really nice." "Yes it is. I lived here for many years." "Just put those bags in the bedroom, which is done the hall."
Once Luis had returned, Sheridan asked him "Luis do you have any idea who would want to kill you?" "No, I don't Sheridan. Hank is in jail and so is Beth. Unless..." Luis drifted off and thought for a moment about the Cranes. Alistair had tried to stop their wedding. Could they possible have orchestrated the whole incident.
"Luis who are you thinking about?" "Sheridan I was thinking about your father, Alistair Crane." "Surely, you don't think that they planted the bomb under you patrol car, do
you?" "Well, how else could it be. Besides, your father did try to ruin our wedding day remember." "You're right. I guess it has to be Alistair. But what are we going to do."
"For now, we will stay here in Paris until we can think of a plan." "Oh Luis, why can't we just live a normal life. Everyone is trying to jeopardize our happiness." Sheridan began to cry as tears rolled down her cheeks. Luis held Sheridan tightly and whispered in her ear
"Everything is going to be alright as long as I have you."
Meanwhile, back in Harmony Alistair Crane was talking to his son Julian. "No one can know about our secret Julian. We need to kill Luis before he finds out and discovers the truth." "But father he does not show any interest at the moment in finding the
whereabouts of his father." "He may not know, but he won't stop looking for the truth about his father's disappearance."
"I agree father, but we already killed an officer and planted a bomb under Luis' car. If we continue to threaten his life, people would get suspicious. We cannot try to kill him again so soon. We need to give it some time. Besides the papers are in the wall safe in the library and no one will get near those papers with the alarm I installed a few years back." "You're right Julian, we will let Luis and Sheridan live their lives peaceful, for now."
Sheridan and Luis had traveled to a quaint little French coffee shop. Sheridan was drinking a coffee and Luis was trying to think of what to do. "Sheridan I think that we are safe in Paris and no one will know where we are, but we have to try to find away to expose your father so that we can live our lives in Harmony." "I agree, but my father is a very powerful and wealthy man and bringing him down won't be easy." As Luis and Sheridan continued to talk, two men were starting at the blond woman leaning closer to the dark haired gentleman. "It is her." "Oui c'est le fiancée de Jean Luc." "She might now about our organization and it crimes. Jean Luc could have told her everything." "We have to get rid of her and soon." "I agree. We will kill her tonight."
