Ronn Moss

Ronn: Hello to everybody

Ronn: Fire in some questions!

jennyjo2003 asks: Why haven't you ever sang on Bold and the Beautiful? I'm waiting to see it...

Ronn: I actually have sang on the show

Ronn: I played one of the songs from our album, from Player's album, Lost in Reality

Ronn: The song was called "After All this Time"

Ronn: And I sang it to Brooke when I proposed to her.

newyorkfox asks: As a teenager, I remember when you sang with a band. Do you miss being a part of one?

Ronn: I did miss the music, and that's why a few years ago myself and Peter Beckett reformed Player

Ronn: And we have since recorded the album Lost in Reality which is out now, and we've also compiled a "Best Of..." from a lot of our albums in the past.

Ronn: Both of those are available through our web site, which is playertheband.com

Ronn: And we happen to be playing live this Friday night (two days from now) at the Hollywood Athletic Club on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

roguelk asks: Ronn, how do u like being a new dad again

Ronn: I love being a new dad, but it sure is tough in the sleep department!

Ronn: I feel completely deprived and deprived (I'm deprived because I'm deprived)

Ronn: I'm just absolutely in love with my two little girls.

Ronn: Our 5-year-old is named Creason, and our 3-month-old is named Calee.

Modelgirl_1999 asks: hi, are you anything like who you play on tv?

Ronn: Not really, no.

Ronn: Not anymore. I'm nothing like Ridge whatsoever.

beachgirl_HI asks: HOW DID YOU BECOME AN ACTOR?

Ronn: Pretty much the typical route,

Ronn: I started studying acting before I left the rock n' roll band years ago.

Ronn: And then I just started hitting the streets, going to auditions, the typical -- getting one job out of a zillion auditions, and screen testing and almost getting several things, and getting a couple of movies and working my way up that way.

Ronn: The tough grind. A couple of very slim years workwise.

Ronn: More than a couple!

diffindally asks: Do you see Taylor and you together in the future. Why do you keep leading Brooke on?

Ronn: Hey, any questions regarding the show you're going to have to ask the writers! I can't answer for anything that Ridge does anymore! I've relinquished that responsibility

lady_sable_98 asks: Is the set fun to work on?

Ronn: Yes, it actually is, and that's what made it palatable for 12 years now.

Ronn: I love the people I work with. Everybody gets along real well, and I couldn't ask for a better working stiuation that way. I lucked out.

Paon_Sensible asks: hi Ronn. What is the most incredible scene that you played?

Ronn: I think it depends what you mean by incredible. What is the most relevant to me? That would have to be when Caroline was dying.

Ronn: She was my first love on the show and I truly loved working with Joanna Johnson

Ronn: and we had a nice chemistry, and it felt like a very poingnant storyline when we finalized her character by having her die of leukemia.

adele_27823 asks: DO YOU COMMUNICATE WITH JOANNA JOHNSON

Ronn: Yes, I do, actually. We have been collaborating on a few projects the last few years that hopefully we will be able to eventually get off the ground and get made.

Ronn: She is a writer, a script writer. She's written a couple of excellent scripts, one of which we have been tyring to get made.

adele_27823 asks: RONN DO YOU LIKE YOUR CURRENT STORYLINE

Ronn: I can't say that I'm totally enthused by my current storyline, because it doesn't seem to be going anywhere right now

Ronn: So there's always hope things will branch out and broaden into things a little more meaty in times to come.

adele_27823 asks: WHO DO YOU THINK IS RIDGE'S SOULMATE

Ronn: I really couldn't answer that now... I ve been asked that question in many ways over the years, and whenever I have answered depending on what the storyline is doing at the time, it infuriated the other half that was not pleased by my answer.

Ronn: So in favor of letting things play the way they're going to go, I don't answer that one anymore.

Angel_987654321 asks: Have you been on the Rosie O'Donnell show?

Ronn: I have never been on the Rosie O'Donnell show, and I would love to do it. I wanted to do it when she first started. I think Rosie's one of the best talk show hosts to come along since Merv Griffin.

lolap99 asks: Do you get to choose how you wear your hair?

Ronn: Yes, I totally take responsibility for the shamble my hair turns into every day. Very often I ride in on a motorcycle and my hair just stays the way it is.

Ronn: I will not blame our hair department for that. I'll take the brunt of all criticism. But you know what? I don't really care. It's my hair. I'm glad to have hair!

Angel_987654321 asks: Do you excercise often?

Ronn: I exercise as much as I can, but I must admit I don't get to work out that often... I'm lucky if I do a couple of times a week

Ronn: But I go through spurts,

Ronn: sometimes more than others

Ronn: Unfortunately with the amount of time this show takes up, it's sometimes impossible to work out at all.

Ronn: I'm averaging about 4, 4 1/2 days of work a week.

cjlexy asks: Do you think you will leave daytime, and try some motion picture productions?

Ronn: I would say eventually yes.

sugarbaby_62 asks: what kind of motorcycle is it?

Ronn: It's a Harley full dress...

Ronn: Full Dresser, it's called

lolap99 asks: Did you get any comments on your SOD Awards outfit?

Ronn: No, not at all.

adele_27823 asks: IS B&B MOVING TO AN HOUR

Ronn: Since about 3 or 4 years into our show -- 9 years ago -- they've talked about going to an hour. It has come up many times, every few years,

Ronn: but the bottom line is something has to give up a half an hour on the network.

Ronn: We thought for a while Guiding Light was going to be cancelled, which would give up an hour of which we would get a half hour.

Ronn: That didn't happen - the show is sitll going strong- so CBS would have to find a half an hour and that's not easy.

Ronn: Besides, Bill Bell has always liked the half hour format, and I think most of the cast on the show prefer it as well.

Ronn: We still seem to be holding our own in the number two postiion among the hour shows.

Ronn: So there really isn't an impetus now to go to an hour.

Ronn: But if something does open up in the future, I'm sure our producers will grab the time slot and change over to an hour.

LisetteLalonde asks: Ronn, is there a chance you will come with Bobbie to Holland and Scandinavia in the summer? We would love to see you here!

Ronn: We did have plans for a concert. A lot of hard work was put into organizing what would be the 10th anniversary in Holland of Bold and Beautiful.

Ronn: But due to a lot of organization problems and people in Holland not being able to -- the reorganization of TV networks and such, it became a problem to get the sponsorship to make it happen,

Ronn: So unfortunately we've had to drop that idea for now.

Ronn: But someday, I hope to be able to come over to Holland and Europe with my rock and roll band Player

Ronn: and if we do that, we may very likely have Bobbie Eakes with us as well,

Ronn: and this would be separate from the show.

Jade127402 asks: Ronn is must have been very difficult for Hunter Tylo this past year, how is her little girl doing

Ronn: Her little girl is doing excellent.

Ronn: She has had lots of therapy and she's has lots of love, obviously, and she's had obviously lots of prayers from many many people,

Ronn: and she is doing very well, we're all happy to say

Angel_987654321 asks: Do you ever sit down and watch yourself on the show,if so,what do you think of it?

Ronn: To be honest, I watch the show less and less these days, mainly because of time.

Ronn: I have so many outside projects and different things I work on that I just don't have time to tape and/or watch the shows anymore.

Ronn: The only time I see it is in the morning when we watch it on the CBS monitors as it's being shown on the East Coast.

Ronn: We can see the live satellite feed from the East Coast.

Ronn: But when I do watch it I don't think anything - I can be quite impartial now.

saint_girl1 asks: DO YOU ENJOY BEING IN THE LIMELIGHT?

Ronn: Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Ronn: I'm a very private person and when I want that privacy and want to be with my family, I dont' want to be in the limelight as well.

dewey14f_99 asks: IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND AND YOU COULD ONLY TAKE 1 PERSON WHO WOULD YOU TAKE AND WHY?

Ronn: That's a good question...

Ronn: hmm...

Ronn: You know, I really wouldn't want to take anybody. I'd probably just want to be there by myself.

Ronn: If I can't have my whole family there, what's the point?

sama36 asks: Do you have any pets?

Ronn: I have two dogs and two cats and that's it.

ellen1987 asks: What do you think of the teen pregnancy storyline?

Ronn: To tell you the truth, really haven't thought much about it. If you want to talk about other real issues that people have, I'll do that, but I can't hash out a TV storyline.

Angel_987654321 asks: Do you want your children to follow in your footsteps?

Ronn: I definitely want my children to follow in my footsteps as far as honesty goes, as far as a good sense of self, and as far as having the strength to get through what life throws at you.

Ronn: But do I want them just to be actors or musicians? That's going to be totally their choice.

saint_girl1 asks: HAD ANY PAPARAZZI PROBLEMS?

Ronn: None whatsoever in tis country.

Ronn: When I go to Europe, I very often do have problems with them.

jjc1683 asks: how does being famous affect your home life?

Ronn: I would say that it doesn't affect it very much.

Ronn: I'm very grateful for that. I've been able to separate my professional and home life, and that's the way I want to keep it.

Ronn: When I first started the show I used to do that a lot, bring home Ridge, but after a couple of years, I never did it again because it wasn't smart.

Ronn: v&127;Ronn: When I walk out the studio doors I can't tell you one thing that Ridge did or said. I just leave it behind.

Shu_Keith asks: Who do you admire?

Ronn: I admire a lot of people that have courage, have the fortitude to be honest in their life,

Ronn: to treat people with respect, I guess I'm a firm believer in the golden rule and I admire people that live by that,

Ronn: who accomplish things in life and give a lot back.

diffindally asks: Ronn both of my parents have had cancer I always donate heavily is there a reason you do also? I was happy to know you did that. It is a good cause

Ronn: I've also been touched with people in my family having cancer.

Ronn: It's hard nowadays for anybody to escape it

Ronn: It's one of those diseases that we still don't know enough about. It's going to plague us for a long time to come in many different forms

Ronn: and we all just have to brave through it. but nobody escapes.

pamela_1_1 asks: What would you say to anyone who wants to be an actress or actor?

Ronn: Be persistent. That's your biggest tool in your skill of acting. Learn the trade, be persistant, and don't let anybody ever tell you you can't make a go of it, that you can't do what your heart tells you to do.

Ronn: Because this business is made up of people who are programmed to do just that - they are programmed to reject you, to tell you why you can't do something. and you have to have the fortitude to rise above it

Angel_987654321 asks: Do you have a personal homepage?

Ronn: I dont' have a personal web page. so far it's just www.playertheband.com, and I try to update it as much as I can.

lolap99 asks: Do you enjoy going to the movies? Any Oscar favorites?

Ronn: I love going to the movies. Since I've become a father for the second time I can't remember the last movie I've seen!

Ronn: I haven't seen all of the entries for the Oscars yet, and I don't assume I will before they happen. I see things months and months after they come out.

Ronn: Possibly years,

Ronn: I eventually get around to it. So I'm not the one to ask about te Oscars.

jjc1683 asks: What is your biggest fear about your career and why?

Ronn: I don't really have a fear about my career. I place a lot of things in the hands of the powers that be.

Ronn: If you want to call that God or you want to call it the energy, the force, whatever it may be, all I can do is keep working, keep being creative in my own way, and hope that I can have that avenue continue throughout my life

Jade127402 asks: Ronn do you enjoy working with Katherine Kelly Lang

Ronn: Very very much.

Ronn: Katherine is a shining light in that studio and I must say so is Hunter.

Ronn: I am extremely blessed to have both of those ladies to work with. They are both very professional, both very hard workers.

Ronn: We all three get along very well

Ronn: and I'm again extremely thankful because that has made my 12 years on the show oh so bearable.

dewey14f_99 asks: IF YOU COULD BE REBORN WOULD YOU WANT TO COME BACK AS YOUR SELF OR SOME ONE ELSE IF SOMEONE ELSE WHO AND WHY?

Ronn: I can't really think of anybody else I would want to come back as, so I'm going to stick with me. I would most likely come back as myself because I'm sure I have a lot of lessons to learn still.

Ronn: I'm still in the process.

Peechn asks: Will this round and round the bush with Taylor and Brooke ever end? It's kinda getting old.

Ronn: I really don't know that. I wish I had a clue where things were going, but I don't.

Ronn: I'm not sure our writers do either!

Ronn: So if you have any ideas of another direction we could go, write in to the show.

SusanGrace1 asks: I loved 'Lost In Reality. Are you planning on a new album?

Ronn: Yes, we are. Peter Beckett and I are presently working on the new album

Ronn: We don't know when it will be finished, because we want to take our time and have it be exactly how we want it.

Ronn: We have that luxury now, so w'ere taking advantage of it

Ronn: In the meantime, we are spending more and more time these days perfomring live

Ronn: I believe we are going to be playing in Reseda coming up in April

Ronn: at the Country Club,

Ronn: and we also have a date in August in Biloxi, Mississippi. And we have a few more that I can't think of at the moment.

amydale494 asks: How would u describe your relationship with Eric ofscreen??

Ronn: Offscreen, John is extremely funny, extremely personable, fun to be around. He's much younger than he appears as Eric Forrester.

Ronn: He's not the patriarch that he has to be on B&B. He's like a little kid in a grown man's body. Lots of fun. We have fun both on the set and off.

CONRADFAM asks: I miss your wife as Ashley Abbott on Y/R will she be doing another soap soon?

Ronn: I don't forsee her doing another soap.

Ronn: She is also a writer, in addition to an actress.

Ronn: and for the last while she's been working on a project, a movie project, that she and I will produce for us and some friends of ours.

Ronn: It'll be a low budget movie that we'll produce and shoot ourselves,

Ronn: and it's coming along qutie nicely.

Ronn: She's very funny. I think she should have her own show.

sama36 asks: do you ever have a say so in the story lines?

Ronn: We don't ahve a say beyond coming up with suggestions,

Ronn: we're free to have suggestions, but that doesn't mean they will use them. In reality, it's hard to have the time to try and come up wtih story ideas beyond what we all do in the makeup chair. Everybody has their theories.

Ronn: There have been things I don't want to do. Every once in a while that happens, and I go in and say I'm not going to say this, that the character would never say this or it doesn't coincide with something in the past.

Ronn: There's always a very good reason - it's not just an ego thing.

LASHAEISHERE asks: They should write her into the script to play oppossite of you on the B&B as a newcomer to the Forrester Creations.

Ronn: That's a possibility, but here again I don't think she would want to do another tv show like that.

Ronn: I think she would rather do movies, and I think she would rather write.

dewey14f_99 asks: HOW DID YOU MEET YOU WIFE?

Ronn: We met doing a movie. She was the lead in the movie and I had a bit part.

Ronn: We had a couple of scenes together, but besides that, several people in the industry had conspired to introduce us.

Ronn: We found out after the fact that through several different avenues we were destined to meet.

filippomiller asks: You tour quite a bit. Which country has the most enthusiastic/fanatic fans?

Ronn: I would say that Italy definitely ranks up there with the most enthusiastic fans,

Ronn: as well as Greece and... enthusiastic can be a lot of things. Some countries are enthusiastic, but others are more agressive

Ronn: That's been interesting for me to see, the difference in responses between countries in Europe.

adele_27823 asks: ARE YOU THE PRANKSTER OF THE SET

Ronn: No, I would say I'm not. I have the capability of being the prankster, but unfortunately the time element always gets in the way.

Ronn: We have to move so fast in filming the show every day that it leaves little or no time to do things like that.

Ronn: Though I did find the time the other day in a scene in the bedroom with Hunter -- we have a runnign gag that whenever I do bedroom scenes, they put a robe in my room, they put pajama bottoms, they put

Ronn: boxer shorts, and they put some sort of Frederick's of Hollywood G-String on my clothes rack.

Ronn: So I put them all on.

Ronn: in that order.

Ronn: with the g-string on the outside of everything.

Ronn: and I walked in for the first camera blocking like that.

Ronn: it was quite a sight, I must say.

Ronn: Definitely took Hunter by surprise

Ronn: So I guess I just negated what I first said, didn't I?

cash498 asks: how many pages of dialogue do you have to memorize a day ...and is it difficult?

Ronn: I personaly average anywhere from 15 to 35, depending on if we're doing two shows or three in a day, which sometimes we do

Ronn: all of my scenes will be grouped together if we do three shows in one day

Ronn: I have had as much as 47 pages, and as little as 12.

Ronn: It's difficult depending on how tired I am.

Ronn: If I get tired and can't memorize, it can be a hellacious day

Patrick_Hir1999 asks: Have you guys thought of doing a storyline involving a fashion show inside the US? Why not have a storyline involving a fashion show in Seattle?

Ronn: I think the only draw in doing a fashion show other than Los Angeles, for us to go on location, would be a fantastic setting

Ronn: like the one we did in Lake Komo, Italy

Ronn: to go to Seattle to do a fashion show doesn't make as much sense for B&B. Ronn: newest rain wear?

packrbabe asks: What is it like being the center character on a soap opera?

Ronn: The good is I can work a lot, which I love working. the good is I'm able to be involved in most of the storylines

Ronn: The bad would be that I very often dont' have time to do other things I'd like to do

Ronn: I didn't really know how it would be. I figured I'd be on for a couple of years, and they'd be done with me.

Ronn: Little did I know it would go 12 years

Ronn: I really didn't think about it. I was so consumed with learning my dialogue and trying to get through a day's work, I didn't really think about whether I was a lead on a show or not

lolap99 asks: Do you like the clothes Ridge wears?

Ronn: I must say that I like wearing the Armani suits, I love wearing the different types of fashion or wardrobe puts me in,

Ronn: but it is not my style of dressing, and never has been. I'm much more a jeans and t-shirt kinda guy

Ronn: I must admit, I know that's probably a boring cliche way to be, but I've grown up that way and that's the way I'm comfortable

colette_e asks: Over here in New Zealand we are at the part where Brooke goes to barbados after findin gout the Bridgette doesn't belong to Ridge, what happens next???

Ronn: Oh, let me remember back 5 years here...

Ronn: I'm sorry, I really can't remember where it goes from there. I've had to block it out for my own sanity and for reasons that I just can't hold on to all the past storylines

Ronn: you have to understand that I have led two lives in the alst 12 years

Ronn: Ronn's and ridge's. both have a conscious state and an unconscious state, and I have tried to allow Ridge to mostly occupy the unconscious side of things

Ronn: by unconscous, I mean his history is all deep within and I act based on that

Ronn: Though many of you will think unconscious is unconscious, and in many ways you're right!

sama36 asks: Was it tough at first to do the love scenes?

Ronn: No, I must admit that the love scenes are the easiest

Ronn: Most everybody seems to lament how tough it is to have all the technical stuff around you while you're trying to be intimate that way, but I find it quite fun.

Ronn: I've thoroughly enjoyed doing them with Katherine and Hunter and Joanna.

Ronn: On the show there have been other women mentioned, but I haven't had scenes with them.

DsAnGeL_9956 asks: hi my name is kim and i just wanted to say that you are the sexiest man alive :-)

Ronn: Thank you Kim

Ronn: That's very kind

Ronn: but I can't really hold on to that. It's far more title than I care to carry!

Ronn: but I thank you for being so kind.

Jacobs84 asks: How is Susan to work with; she is a great actress?

Ronn: Susan is a great actor. She has been a huge influence and inspiration to me professionally.

Ronn: She is wonderful to work with, she is a mentor to me, she is a grounding element for the whole cast and we are very lucky to have her there.

Ronn: I hope to some day work with Susan on other projects.

Ronn: She is also quite a capable director.

JohnMCUI asks: Are you thrilled that one of your fellow castmates was nominated for an Emmy? Jacob Young

Ronn: I wish Jacob well. I hope he doesn't take it too seriously.

Ronn: and I'm very happy for him.

Angel_987654321 asks: Do you personally read fan mail?

Ronn: Yes, I do. I try to read as much as I can.

Ronn: I have to admit that I can't personally answer all of it. It just would take too much time. I wouldn't have time to see my family or to work if I did that.

Ronn: But I try to get through reading as much as I possibly can

Jade127402 asks: Ronn do you think tht Kimberlin Brown will ever return

Ronn: I would say there's always a possibility for that.

Ronn: Kimberlin was wonderful in the role. She's very missed by all of us. and I think there's a very good chance she will come back, if not to B&B possibly Y&R.

jennyjo2003 asks: where were you born and raised?

Ronn: I was born and raised in Hollywood, CA.

Jade127402 asks: Ronn I work in televison. I am the assistant program manager for a public broadcasting station. What do you think of digital telvevision

Ronn: I don't know a lot about it. I'm trying to learn about the high definition TV, which I guess the digital TV will be apart of that.

Ronn: I think where technology can take us that way, all the better.

Ronn: I look forward to getting rid of tape and film, though I love the look of film I think it's an antiquated medium. I think eventally everything will be digitally oriented.

Ronn: So I look forward to it.

SheRa3364 asks: Hello Ron...Happy St.Patty's Day From New York

Ronn: That's right. Are you wearing green?

Ronn: I am!

Ronn: If you weren't, we'd have to pinch you.

valleygirl1_99 asks: How tall is Ron?

Ronn: Ronn is 6'2"

Patrick_Hir1999 asks: How do you feel when cities like Portland don't air B&B?

Ronn: You know, I've recently had much e-mail through the Player web site that have kept me up on what's happening up ther in Portland.

Ronn: And for awhile we thought it was going to happen, but it hasn't yet. We're hoping some day they will come around and slot us back in.

Ronn: I know a lot of people are upset about that.

sing2sweet asks: Of all the world what country do you like the most

Ronn: Other than the United States?

Ronn: I'm going to be real brave in here and just pick the one I've been to the most, which would be Italy.

Ronn: It doesn't mean I don't like other countries, but I haven't been to them as many times as I've been to Italy. I've had the opportunity to go to Italy more, so it's a little more ingrained in me.

Ronn: That just means I have to travel more, doesn't it?

jade_grr asks: If you could pick anyone to do a love scene with.. who would it be and why?

Ronn: I think Im' going to take the fifth on that one...

Ronn: I do have an answer for htat, but not here!

Ronn: I wanted to remind everyone who is in the LA area that my rock n roll group Player is perfomring Friday night at the Hollywood Athletic Club

Ronn: on Sunset Boulevard, across from the Cat and Fiddle,

Ronn: and we'll be going on approximately 10 o'clock at night,

Ronn: and we're going to have a kick-ass band.

Ronn: It'll be Tony Schiuto on keyboards, he's from the Little River Band.

Ronn: We also have Dave Amato on guitar, he's from REO Speedwagon.

Ronn: We also have Ron Wikso on drums, he's from the group Foreigner,

Ronn: and Ron Green from the Kenny Loggins band

Ronn: and of course Peter Beckett and myself.

Ronn: It's a kick-ass band, we're going to have a lot of fun on Friday. It's going to be a great show!

Ronn: If you can please come down and join us

Ronn: and keep tuned to the Player website, www.playertheband.com For more info on upcoming gigs.

Ronn: Thank you all for doing this!

Ronn Moss, who is a frequent surfer on the internet, runs across many online chats about his character and the storylines on The Bold and the Beautiful. And some of them just aren´t accurate. "A while ago, I read something that led me to believe people were confused in thinking that what Ridge gave Taylor was Brooke´s engagement ring," explains Moss. "Many were mad about it, but it´s untrue. Ridge gave Taylor her own ring."

While Moss likes having access to the information superhighway, he doesn´t like some of the conversations that take place during soap chat sessions. "I see the stuff that some people talk about, like making fun of the way an actor talks or walks or looks. Some people even get fixated on an actor´s hair style. It used to bother me when I´d read things like that," he admits. "But I just decided not to let it get to me. I think maybe people need to realize this isn´t a private conversation they´re having with a friend. It´s out there for everybody to see.

Ronn Moss

Ronn Moss, an original Hollywood kid, has lived at least three lives - Rock star, B-movie actor and soap star - but his popularity on BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL may buy him another. Born and bred in the heart of the show biz community, Moss has lived his entire life in the milieu of entertainers. International talents gathered in his parents´ home. Recalling the many parties thrown by his father, an impresario who brought musical greats to Los Angeles for light opera and other musical productions. Moss paints a glamorous but informal picture. It was no big deal to have the likes of Arthur Rubenstein playing piano in the living room. "I enjoyed the parties," Moss says. "I was impressed with how talented these people seemed to be. But they were just people in show business to me".

Full name: Ronn Montague Moss

Birthdate: March 4, 1952

Height: 6´2

Siblings: Stephen and Linda

Most Unusual Acting Experience: Filming Heart and Armour in Sicily in Mt. Etna the month between volcanic eruptions. "It could have erupted while we were there. We used to make jokes about pointing out horses downhill so we could get out of there quick if we felt thing rumbling."

Bad Habits: Being too moody sometimes.
