Her two daughters (by her first husband Michael); Soren (good friend and much more); jazz; solutions to puzzles; open minded people

Will sometimes over-look seemly unimportant details; hates 'straight' maintenance work with a passion - prefers making improvements; craves physical affection; and is quite idealistic, believing in love and creativity as the strongest forces in the universe.

Intuitive; Big Picture/Holistic thinking

If alone - will play music quite loud; Talks straight (sometimes getting her into trouble); because of her Venusian upbringing, will sometimes not understand some Earth traditions, words or phrases; wants
to be friends with everyone; doesn't like being called 'Spanner', a childhood nickname and the name that her beloved deceased husband called her; has a strong liking of sour jellies. She has matured and
calmed a little of late, in part because of her children, the death of her husband Michael, and also due to the influence of her very close friend Soren.

Jazz; holonovels and holoplays; jazz; theatre sports; jazz; piano; did
I mention jazz?
Education:
Did extremely well in subjects that interested her (like engineering, communications, technical design); only obtained average marks in other areas.
Personal History:
Born in Armstrong City, the planetary capital of Venus, to Frank (private sector holo-programer) and Tricia Coltrane (nurse). Born and raised in a tight-knit and loving family, she had the best possible
childhood and was raised to be a strong, secure, independent woman, who stands up for what she believes in and knows how to pick her fights and
leave the rest.
As a small child she would pull apart her toys to find out how they work, and try to rebuild them in a better way. Her father noticed her gifting and started to purchase her more educational toys. By the age of 7 she had completed her first kit robot and was beginning to design additions to refine its design, earning her the nickname "Spanner".
Although initially interested in school, she quickly grew bored at the teaching methods of repetition and would ask the teacher for more challenging assignments and purpose in her homework. Brought up a
number of times to the principal's office on the charge of being 'precocious'.
After finishing school, she had no interest in corporate life and headed straight for StarFleet for a far more varied and interesting 'front line' career on board a vessel.
At the Academy she excelled in the fields of her interest and came in with a pass mark on those she found boring or superfluous. She made friends with most of her teachers and even dated one of them in her second year as a Cadet (and she will not reveal which one).
In the last year of the Academy, Anna met a handsome and talented pilot called Michael Nighthaven. During a dangerous 'training' mission he was injured and asked her to marry him. After an altercation with Michael's abusive father, they almost immediately got married in a small chapel on a Starbase with their friends from the Pegasus around them.
After two blissful years, Michael was sent on a covert mission, leaving Anna pregnant with their twins, and did not return alive. After giving
birth to the girls, Melody and Harmony, and mourning for Michael, Anna had a brief friendship with Leon before he left for another assignment. It was then that she realised her love for her close friend Soren.
Anna was offered the role of Executive Officer when Soren took command of the Pegasus, but she turned it down in favour of more time with her daughters and the blossoming romance with Soren. She has recently been looking into establishing a field unit of Research and Development on the Pegasus to allow others in Engineering to develop.
Recently the Pegasus encountered a a spatial and temporal anomaly. On the other side of this anomaly was another (quantum) universe, where she was still with Michael Nighthaven. Upon seeing her erstwhile
husband, she found that her feelings for him had changed. She had expected to cry out and cling to him, but instead she regarded him as another friendly face. Indeed, it was now Soren who moved her heart.
She was able to complete the mission knowing that her
alternate-universe double -- and Michael's -- would die in a horrible crash. Commander Hürrem Jensen, from the alternate universe, has noted this maturity and development required to separate 'this' Anna from the one that continued to stay with Michael, in the other universe.
