Aideen Brant
Chief of Ops, USS Relentless
Begins in year 2404 and ends at Stardate 50311.16.09

Lt. Aideen Brant was furiously looking over the nebula that the Relentless had approached just a few days earlier. She had been up for about 2 days and nights… long days and nights trying to figure out what secrets the nebula held inside. "What secrets do you hide inside of this nebula? Blast! Not even Science can figure this out. I wonder if the Admiral would let me inside of the nebula?" She asked to herself.  She studied for hours and hours on end, trying to learn the lessons from her mother, Carla Brant… and the mother that had adopted her, Jennifer Fasha. She knew that this was out of her league and since Science was busy, she decided to make a ship to ship call, but first she had to get permission from the Admiral.

"Brant to Admiral Antilles." She called over the comm.

"Antilles here.  What do you need, Lt.?" Came the voice of Admiral Rachel Antilles.

"Sir, I would like to make a ship to ship communiqué. I need to call my mother." Aideen said in her hope.

Rachel nodded, knowing that her and Jennifer were still good friends. "Granted but secure the channel, Lt.  I don't want our 'friends' to hear what is happening."

Aideen nodded, knowing that the Romulans that had been bugging them were still nearby and could strike at any time as she made the call. The face on the screen appeared as a Bajoran woman who looked to be in her early 40's (Human years) came onto the screen.

"Aideen honey, Its good to see you again. How is my sweet daughter doing?" Jennifer said with a curious smile.

"Not so good, Mama. I have a problem with a nebula and… I need help." Aideen said with a sigh.

"What is the problem, Sweetie?" Jennifer asked, her curiosity getting the best of her like it always did.

Aideen went on to explain that the nebula was sucking up probes and the Relentless was getting no readings back from them, not a single one. They had tried many different probes but the results were still the same.

"Hmm. It could only be one of two things. Either the magnetism of the nebula is interfering with the communications or…. It could have a time or space vortex hidden inside." Jennifer said, having experience in studying nebulas ever since she had been near one about 23 years ago when she was only an ensign.

"But Mama, I can talk to you… but we can't talk to the probes. It is so frustrating. I hate this." Aideen said, slamming her fist in her frustrations.

"Shh… Calm down, Sweetie. Remember your breathing techniques?" Jennifer asked.

Aideen started to breathe in and out for a few seconds before settling down. "Thank you, Mama… I love you…. I... I just wish that Ally was here. She would know all of this in a heartbeat." She said with a sigh.

"I know, Sweetie. I know." Jennifer said. "My suggestion is… to send yourself and an escort into the nebula and see what is inside of it. All courses of actions with probes have been exhausted so… why not try the real thing?" She suggested.

"I don't know if Admiral Antilles will like…" Aideen started to say before she was cut off by Jennifer.

"Let me take care of your 'Auntie,'  Sweetie, OK?" Jennifer asked with a smile.

"OK, Mama…. Thank you. I love you so much."

Aideen looked over and saw the communications shift as she waited for a few seconds. Finally, she heard another tap on her comm. "Lt. Brant, prepare a shuttle and meet with Cadet Paullus. She will be escorting you inside." Rachel said over the comm.

"Aye, Sir." Aideen said as she grabbed her jacket. She went to the shuttle, a very young girl was standing there, waiting in anticipation.

"Is there anything I can do to get started Ai… er… Sir?" Cadet Joelle Paullus said.

"Just fire up the shuttlecraft and get ready to move out into the nebula, Cadet." Aideen said as they both went inside.

The two women entered the shuttlecraft and started to turn on the engines. Upon getting the authorization from the Command Center, they whisked on out and into space, towards what could be their future. As they approached the nebula, Joelle looked at the celestial fog bank and gasped. "Wow, Cousin. I have never seen anything like this. Will it be a bumpy ride?" She asked.

"Let's hope not. Prepare to enter the nebula." Aideen said, speaking to her adopted cousin. Joelle was the baby half-sister of her mother, Jennifer, and looked like she was a full human.

They entered the purple-looking nebula and immediately, the ship started to rock violently. "Blast. Reroute auxiliary power to… Oh Gods." Aideen said, seeing Joelle being knocked out from the violent shaking. She knew now that she was on her own as she tried to stabilize the ship to the best of her abilities. As she was looking up, a bright flash of light seemed to be heading straight towards them. "No… I can't let this… NOOOO!"

Aideen woke up, seeing that she was not in the nebula any more… but in deep space once again. She looked around groggily, then she shook her head. "Where am I?" She asked, starting to get a little scared. "Where is the Relentless?" She asked as she started to try and communicate with the ship. "Angel Wing to RelentlessRelentless, please respond?"  She called out, but heard nothing but static. She looked over at Joelle, who looked like she was still passed out. "Oh God, Joelle. Mama is going to kill me when she finds out." She muttered to herself.

Joelle's eyes were still closed when another ship came towards her. It was another shuttlecraft heading their way. "Gods, I have never seen this kind of shuttlecraft before" She said to herself.

"Unidentified shuttlecraft, this is Angel Wing 3, please respond." The female voice said.

Aideen turned on the comm and responded back. "Angel Wing 3… this is Angel Wing. I am lost and my co-pilot needs medical assistance. Please, help us."

"Stand by for transport. Locking on to your coordinates…" The female voice said as Aideen and Joelle were transported to the other shuttlecraft. Aideen got the surprise of her life as she looked over at the woman. "Vulcans, I should have known that I would be rescued by them." She muttered with a snarl.

"Watch your tongue. I may look Vulcan, but Vulcan I am not. "My Vulcan name is "T'Vel but I prefer to be called Linda Brant." She said.

Aideen was even more shocked. "Nana? Is that… you?" She asked in her shock.

Linda looked over, not hearing that name being called out in years. "Oh God… Ally?" She asked.

"No, Nana, I am Aideen. Aidy…. Do you remember?" She asked.

"Yes, Sweetie, I remember. Let's get you back to my ship and we can catch up on everything that has happened. I want to hear everything." Linda said with a smile.

"Will Joelle be all right?" Aideen asked, referring to her co-pilot and cousin.

"Only the medical staff will tell." Linda said as they approached what seemed to be the weirdest ship in her life. "Welcome to the Mystic, Sweetie. We will help you to adjust to what has happened."

"What… What..." Aideen asked.

"Shh… all your questions will be answered later. Right now, we have a patient to save." Linda said.

"Right." Aideen said, as they beamed aboard to the sickbay. Aideen looked over and called out in her hopes. "Doctor? This woman needs help. Can you help her?" She asked, hoping to get a response from the medical staff nearby.

Lt. JG Anthony Tobias Duty Post

CO Shadow Ops and Bartender, USS Mystic

Captain Sharek Tekon Duty Post

Captain, USS Mystic

Terminal X, NPC, USS Mystic

Stardate 50311.16.1500

Anton had been sitting at the computer in his office since his CFT. The days and nights had been long, but he saw his deadline was closer than he expected. The captain had made the comment that the wedding was in preparation. Anton wanted to have Mysty online as a wedding gift for the captain. He figured Tekon would enjoy this since he had made it a special priority of Anton to repair her. He had Dawn working on the basic programming constantly. He was now working on completing Mysty.

Anton touched his hands off the computer console and brushed his hair back, "There is something that I'm missing. What is it?" He decided to look at the ship's computer history to figure out what. He went back through the logs and found missing logs from almost everywhere on the ship. It appeared that instead of the information being damaged and in fragments, it was purposely deleted. The only question that came to his mind was why. Anton was able to track down that whatever had deleted the programming codes, had also deleted logs from all the ship's systems at the same time as the AI programming codes were.  He could only suspect that a virus of some type was let loose into the system and started deleting these files to shut down the ship and also delete any information as to who had put the virus into effect.

He searched all systems to find the remnants of the virus.  It had seemed that after the ship shutdown, they had rebooted it to get it operational again. He found the virus signature in Terminal.

Anton, "Terminal, I have a question for you."

Terminal X, "Yes 3 of 7?"

Anton, "What is this virus signature that I am picking up in your database and why is it connected to the deletion of files across the ship?"

Terminal X, "It is a virus used to extract information from a ship directly to a drone's mind so it can take it back to the collective. From what I can tell, this one wiped out everything from when the Mystic ran from the Temporal Borg until a little over a week after they managed to escape to the 26th century, where they rebooted the ship to wipe out the virus. Since it is a Borg virus, it needs no access codes to access systems like the ship's AI. Unfortunately since there were no fully active drones at the time, the information was released as energy."

Anton, "Okay, interesting. Thanks Terminal, and for the last time call me Anton."

Terminal X, "But that isn't your Borg designation. Just because you had your implants removed doesn't mean you cease to be Borg."

Anton, "Whatever, I don't care. Thank you Terminal."

Anton continued to work, but the information that he had found and what Terminal was telling him wasn't enough to explain what happened during that time. He would find out what had happened. It seemed too neat to be part of a Borg program. It just wasn't something the Borg would have programmed, because why would they have deleted all the logs? He decided to go to the Captain about it, because he would know what happened. He located the Captain in his ready room, and left to ask him some questions.

Anton arrived outside the captain's ready room and pressed the door chime button.

Sharek, "Enter." Tekon was currently playing 3D chess with a hologram he created for an opponent.

Anton entered the ready room and handed Tekon his padd. "Sir, I have some questions about what happened on the timespan detailed on my padd. I ran into a problem repairing Mysty and found some interesting information. It's all detailed on the padd. What happened, Sir?"

Sharek zoned out as he flashed back to the day of the Borg attack, the day everything changed.... Finally he came to and answered, "Before we killed the last Borg it apparently infected the ship with a virus from Terminal. We spent over a week trying to stop it from deleting anything new we put in the system. It wasn't until the 26th century timeship USS Grant that found us and took us for repairs, that we found a way to get rid of the virus by rebooting the system. We were finally rid of everything Borg... well almost. 2 days before we got rid of the virus the old CMO started to turn into a Borg and I was forced to vaporize him. Now the only thing Borg left is Terminal, who was not hooked up to any vital systems at the time. He anchored himself to the ship while we were doing repairs."

Anton, "Interesting... thank you, sir. I'm heading back to work on Mysty. I'm not sure when I will be done with her. I have run into some difficulties."

Sharek, "Well no rush, take your time. Tell me before you reactivate her."

Anton left the ready room and went back to his office. He sat down at his computer and went back to work. He felt bad about lying to the Captain, but he knew that he would enjoy the surprise. Anton estimated that he would be able to activate Mysty by the time the wedding took place. Anton smiled as this thought came to his mind and went back to work.

Captain Sharek Tekon, Personal Post
Captain, USS Mystic

Lt Cmdr Ael Tr'radiak, Personal Post
CMO, USS Mystic

Stardate: 50311.16.0430

Ael tossed the padd aside with a sigh of relief. She'd finally finished with catching up on some of the unfamiliar medications. She stretched and worked the kinks out of her back. "Computer where is the Captain?" "He is in the Ready Room" came the reply. So she went there. "Hello, love" she said with a smile, seeing that he was playing chess.

Sharek yelled, "Checkmate, take that you computerized smart ass!" He then saw Ael and spoke calmer, "Hi, hon. How is everything?"

Ael laughed, "I'm fine, love. Is it being a pain, darling?"

Sharek, "I forgot to give the computer a difficulty level for the hologram when I started so the computer has been using it's entire database on chess against me. This one game took 3.15 hours to complete."

Ael smiled and walked over to him, slipping her arms around him. "And yet, it still lost. So there."

Sharek wrapped his arms around her, "That’s because I'm a genius."

Ael kissed him softly, "Well, yes, you are."

Sharek got up for a second and retrieved a black titanium box. He set it on the table and opened it. Inside was a 150 year old bottle of Romulan Ale that Anton helped him get. "This is for our wedding. I gave Anton Tobias his Command Fitness Test using a real life exercise and his goal helped me gain this bottle and 150 bars of gold pressed latinum for the ship."

Ael raised a brow "Really? I must remember to ask him how he managed that." She said with her blue eyes sparkling, "It's perfect, Sharek," wondering if they should be thinking of a date.

Sharek, "Let's pick a date, the sooner the better. We can have Zorran marry us in a Starfleet wedding since our type of people have no traditions of our own."

Ael smiled up at him "Yes. Let's start our own traditions my love." She touched his face gently, still amazed at what they had.

Sharek, "So how do you want to plan this?"

She thought for a moment. "A small ceremony, with the officers present, and then possibly a meal with the whole crew if that can be arranged."

Sharek, "We can have Tobias convert Cargobay 2 into a dining hall for the whole crew, well for the reception at least. We will need to return the ship to at least the 24th century so they can get gifts, we can let them use either the replicators or the latinum."

"Gifts?" Ael blinked. That was something she hadn't thought of... at all... or a dress... hmmm....

Sharek answered almost reading her mind, "If you need a dress, I believe Anton may be able to help you, I have been looking through his file and he is apparently qualified. Besides, don't you want gifts from the officers we are inviting to the ceremony?"

"Yes, I just... never thought about that," Ael explained, blushing olive.

Sharek, "I have rings for us... I bought them along time ago... but I was a fool then and have had time to find the right person."

"You were never a fool," disagreed Ael.

Sharek, "I thought I was in love with someone a long time ago and it turned out not to be true... it was all a lie."

Ael brushed a kiss on his lips. "I am sorry she hurt you, my love."

Sharek kissed her deeply and made sure they fell over on the couch. Ael wrapped her arms tighter around him. Sharek stopped kissing her long enough to say, "Computer, lock ready room doors. Captain's authorization code only."

"Uhm yeah, that's probably a good idea love," laughed Ael.

Sharek went back to kissing Ael as his hands unzipped her uniform. Ael kissed him back, slipping her hands through his hair. Sharek slipped Ael's uniform top off as he kissed her deeply again. Ael whispered, "I love you so much, darling."

Sharek whispered back, "I love you, too. You complete me in a way I never thought possible."

Ael said, "I never dreamed I'd ever be this lucky." Sharek didn't respond he just kissed her deeply as he began undressing her again.

Lt. (At the moment) Aideen Brant
Ops Officer, USS Mystic

Lt. JG (At the moment) Carla Brant
Science Officer, USS Mystic

Beginning in 2385 and ending on Stardate 50311.17.0541 - 50311.17.1220

The USS Relentless floated next to the swirling ball of energy. Inside the ship Lt. JG Grade Carla Brant cursed the equipment.  "Vulcan’s Fingertips," she cursed. "Why do these damn sensors have to be so obstinate!" Admiral Paul Antilles looked over in amusement.

"Having some trouble Lt.?" He asked.

"Oh its just that I can't get an accurate reading on these things because of what the Marines did to them, and they forgot to put them back."

"How long will it take you to reset the sensors?" He asked.

"Too long. This thing will be gone before then. I'd have to tear apart the entire sensor array." She replied.

"Can you get more accurate readings from a shuttlecraft?"

"I think so. At the moment anything will be better than the sensors here." She said.

"Very well, take shuttlecraft Vulcan 4 and Ensign Solvak and go get me a report." He said doing this on purpose, knowing how much Carla hated Vulcans .

Carla growled softly and nodded. "OK, Admiral," she said tapping her comm badge. "Ensign Solvak this is Lt. Brant, can you meet me in Shuttlebay 3 in about 10 minutes?"

"About is not an accurate time period. Would you like me to come there in 9 minutes or 11 minutes?" He said smugly.

Carla felt like tearing her hair out. "OK Ensign, meet me in the cargo bay in 10 minutes, 34 seconds, and 9 milliseconds." She said growling. She tapped her comm badge again and then said. "Jen, can you do me a favor and watch the girls tonight? I have to go out in a shuttle to do some research and I don't know when I will be back." She got an acknowledgement and then headed to the shuttle. Solvak was already there and he nodded. Carla bit her tongue and nodded back. They headed into space and Carla had to admit that Solvak was a good pilot;  she started trying to study the anomaly. Solvak piloted in and out on her instructions, suddenly she was jolted from her seat. "Solvak, what happened?" She asked.

"I am endeavoring to try to find that out," he said grimly. "Sensors are offline."

"I can see that. See if communications are still up," she replied getting gingerly to her feet.

"Lt., I would have called the ship if they were still up." He shook his head. "Humans, and human wannabes."

"Ensign, do you have a problem with me?" She asked.

"Yes I do, but you already know it, so what’s the point in bringing it up."

Carla nodded tapping herself on the comm array and hearing static.  "USS Relentless, this is the shuttlecraft Vulcan 4. Come in please." She said.

"Vulcan 4 this is the USS Mystic." A voice came out.

"USS Mystic?" Carla said looking at Solvak.

He was still upset about something and refused to say anything else other than. "You are in command Lt."

"USS Mystic, our shuttle is disabled. Can we come aboard for repairs?"

"Dock in the shuttlebay and we will send someone down to meet you." The voice said.

Carla piloted the shuttle into the bay and powered down. "Ensign, stay here and continue repairs on the shuttle."

"That is illogical for me to try. I will wait and assist the engineers."

Carla sighed and walked out not knowing what to expect.
The doors slid open from the shuttle bay and Carla Brant looked around in amazement. This ship was so... so.... well she didn't have a word for it. She looked around and saw a Vulcan officer. She was determined to change her attitude of Vulcans.  "Sir, I... erm, wish you peace and long life," she said, while thinking, 'God she looks like me.'

Aideen Brant looked at the woman and was almost scoffed at the sight of this Vulcan... but for some reason, she had found a way to let it go. Usually she would tell the Vulcan off in a stunning outburst, but this time... she felt like this Vulcan didn't deserve that. "Thank you... I think," Aideen said as she looked at the woman. "I welcome you to the USS Mystic. The Captain and the First Officer have other duties to attend to. So... may I show you around?" She asked, taking a longer look at this new woman. She thought to herself, 'I... I can't place her. She looks like Ally... but a little different... can it be her?'

Carla laughed, "Excuse me, Lt., but... you look very familiar. I am sorry if I am being straight forward but I have never really thought much about Vulcan emotion suppression. I think its kind of stupid to tell you the truth."  She said, "My Vulcan name is T'Kel but I prefer my human name that my mother and father gave me: Carla Brant."

Aideen looked over at Carla, feeling shocked. She asked, "Oh my God... can it be? Is it true?" as she stopped in her tracks and gasped the loudest gasp that she ever had. She had no idea if she wanted to hug her or to shout at her mother. She said softly, "I... don't have a Vulcan name.... but... my Mama gave me a human name of... Aideen Brant."

Carla stopped and looked at Aideen. "My daughter... " she whispered. "I... I look at you, it's so good to see you, is... your sister with you?" she asked clutching her hand.

Aideen sighed as she felt her mother clench her hand. "N-n-no... She left during... the academy and... I haven't seen her... since.  I... I fear that... something... has happened to her." Aideen said, letting out a soft tear.

"Aideen, is there a place... we can talk?" she asked, feeling the need to hug her daughter. "It's so wonderful to see you. You look wonderful sweetie." She whispered, "I.... there is no words to describe how much I love you."

Aideen nodded as they started to move towards her own quarters that were nearby on the same deck. As soon as she opened the door, it was not like a place where someone would find a partial Vulcan inside. "I... I missed you, Mama. Soo much. When I heard that you had disappeared.... I... I lost my fire inside of me.  I... I have been waiting for this day... to come... for soo... long," she said, finally giving in to the love that she had for her mother and crying in Carla's arms.

Carla who didn't have tear ducts was dry sobbing. "Oh sweetie, I am sorry to have caused you all this trouble. I love you, Aideen." She said, "Look at you, a lieutenant while your mother is still an ensign. I am proud of you sweetie." She was so choked up that she didn't know what to say.

Aideen felt her tears on her mother’s shirt as she looked up and smiled. "Oh Mama... I... I feel that part of... my fire is back with me again. When... Ally disappeared... in a temporal vortex on the Polaris... I... I... tried... and tried to find her... but... I... I couldn't. Even... Grandmamma has been trying .. and... the crazy thing is... she is here on the... ship as well.... She... found me," she said with a blush.

"Mama's here?" Carla asked, cradling her daughters head in her hand. "Oh wow. What kind of fate brought us all together?  I love you, sweetie. How does it feel to be a higher rank than your old mother?" she smiled.

Aideen started to smile a little. "It... it feels the same. I... I have never really cared about ranks... unless I had to," she said with a giggle. While still giggling, she asked, "You should be older... but you look almost like... me?"

Carla hugged her. "It's going to be hard to call you 'Sir,' but would it be too much to share quarters with you?" she asked, hugging her. "I came on as Assistant Science Officer and the local Xenoarchaeologist. I heard that some Vulcan came and took over my old Relentless job."

Aideen started to giggle. She answered, hugging her mother, "Yes. Her name is T'Cari and Mama Jen said that she is the most... boring person ever. And I hope that the Captain would let us do that... I mean.... He has been good to me so far after only... a few hours aboard myself," she said as she blushed. "I am still getting settled in, remembering what you taught me when you were there on the Relentless." It took Aideen a little time to grasp what Carla was saying but she finally grasped things later on. "But after I left... I did take over the Ops position of a... very famous Vulcan that I have come to know and love."  She said happily.

"I am still a little lost which is why Starfleet demoted me back to Lt. Jg. They told me that I was lucky that they didn't just cashier me out of Starfleet," Carla laughed. "They told me this was the only thing I could do."

Aideen looked at Carla with a lot of understanding. "I am sure that Starfleet meant well. I only met the Captain just briefly when I came aboard.... Luckily, he isn't a full Vulcan so at least he has one thing going for him," she said with a small giggle.

Carla laughed, "I would never accept if he had been a Vulcan." She laughed and hugged her daughter. "Aideen, I love you," she said. With a laugh she said, "Let's go see this Captain of yours and see if I can come aboard.... Or if I should just resign and be a civilian historian. Gods know that I am old enough."  She giggled.

Aideen hugged her mother as she giggled. "With as old as most of the crew is here... we could all be historians," she said, laughing with her as they walked out of Aideen's quarters to find the Captain

Ael asked, "Location of Anton Tobias?" On hearing he was in his office, she went there. She reached up and knocked on the door. Old habits died hard.

Anton answered the door in person and gave Ael a funny look. "Did you just knock, or is Terminal f***ing with my head again?"

"I knocked," said Ael. "Old habits," she shrugged.

Anton smiled, "That’s okay. Come in." He walked over to his desk and sat down. He pressed a few buttons on his console and all the screens that had different displays on them turned off. "You can take a seat. What is it that you need?"

Ael sat down, smiling slightly. "I'd like to say, 'thank you,'" she said. "That was by no means an easy mission and it couldn't have been an easy thing to discover it was for a bottle of ale and some latinum."

Anton chuckled and smiled, "No it was not an easy mission, and you are welcome. I could have gotten killed, and it was all so I could get you two a bottle of ale for the wedding. How do you think I felt after he showed me what I went after? I had thoughts of blasting him for it, but he is my commanding officer and I really didn't want to have to deal with you when I got back."

"Smart man." Ael said. "'Cause, you know you'd never made it out alive." She was teasing but there was truth in her words.

Anton replied, "Don't worry, I would have anyways. I was just worried about you trying to beat me up. So what is it that you came to talk to me about?"

Ael smiled, "I was hoping you could help me find a dress to wear. I hate white," she said.

Anton smiled, "You need help with a dress. Okay, is there anything else you need help with?"

She grinned, "That's the big thing right now."

Anton pressed a few buttons on his console and every screen lit up with pictures of different design styles of wedding dresses. Everything from the present to the late- 18th century. "What do you like? I can do just about anything, any way you want, any color you want. We could also design your own style."

Ael looked over them, studying them. She pointed to one finally, a very simple pre-Raphaelite style. "I think that, in silvery blue would be nice."

Anton looked at the image and pressed a few more buttons. The dress became the only thing on the screen and changed to the color she wanted. "Is this what you wanted?"

"That is perfect!" Ael said in delight. She might be a little too emotional right now, but what the heck. It was her bloody wedding anyways.

Anton, "Now here is the important decision, do you want it hand-made, or replicated. All it is, is a difference in time taken to make it and quality."

Ael tapped her fingers lightly on the desk as she thought. "What do you estimate the difference would be?"

Anton replied, "It would take me a week or so to do, and it would be of a better quality. If I have the replicator do it, it would be done in thirty seconds, but the quality is that of any machine made dress. Both would be to your measurements of course."

"It's nice to have things fit," Ael laughed. "A week isn't bad," she decided.

Anton smiled, "Okay, now all I need are your measurements. I can do it by hand or we can have the computer scan you? It's up to you. If you want it done the old traditional way, hand measurements would have to be taken."

Ael grinned, "Alright then... You get to measure me."

Anton chuckled, "I'll use the computer to do it. The Captain would probably find out anyway." Anton looked up at one of the internal sensors and said, "See Captain, I'm being a gentleman. You owe me for this and you know it." He turned back to her. "Go stand in the middle of the room and stand still."

Ael laughed and did as she was asked, blue eyes sparkling with mischief. "Have at it."

Anton pressed a few buttons on the console. "Okay, you can sit down. I told you it wouldn't take long. I'll have it ready in about a week. I'll bring it down to you when it's ready. Is there anything else you want me to do for the wedding?"

Ael thought about it, "Not that I can think of right now."

Anton stood from his chair, "Okay. The captain said that he would help me with the reception and ceremony planning. He told me that all he wanted his 'sweety' to worry about was her dress."

Ael blushed, a very light hint of olive. "I won't argue with him. This once, dear heart," she said with a grin.

Anton walked over around the desk to her. "If that is all, I need to get back to work."

Ael smiled, "Then I'll leave you to it." She stood up. Impulsively she gave him a quick hug. "Thanks, Anton," and turned to go.

Anton stood there stunned for a moment. He had not expected her to do that. He thought she would be more conservative about physical displays of affection. "Good day, sir."

Ael smiled, "Good day, Anton," and walked out the door, still feeling on cloud nine. She was so happy right now it was unreal.

Anton sat back at his desk and brought up the displays of the work he was doing before Ael had come. His work had an important deadline to keep....

Cmdr Ariss Zorran

XO

Duty Post

SD 50311.23.1812

-=Medical=-
Ariss smiled at the nurse. "Alls well I hope?"  She was in Medical having her daily physical therapy session on her leg and they were just finishing up.  Usually the CMO did the therapy, but she was unable to attend today’s session.

The nurse made a couple of notes on a PADD and nodded. "Everything seems to be fine.  The scans show a minute fracture though, you're over taxing the bone.  You need to take it easy when its barely healed. I could go into a long lecture about this, but I'll leave that to the CMO to do next time you come in," she said and smirked.

Ariss rolled her eyes but didn’t disagree.  "I still think it would have been easier to cut the damn thing off. But the fact of the matter is if I'm to be the best XO I can be, I need to get back in shape. And I cant do that if I don’t push myself to my limits," she said as she hopped off the biobed.

The nurse shrugged.  "I don’t think Lt.Cmdr Ael will agree, or the Captain, for that matter."

Ariss winced.  The Sharek Tekon from her timeline was the same.  It made her feel quite odd to be Sharek's XO again, yet she also wasn’t.  He wasn’t the same Sharek who she'd became friends with.  She shook her head and straightened her uniform a bit.  "I have a new crew member to greet, am I free to go, jailer?" she asked with a grin.

The nurse snorted and waved at her. "Get out of here, Ma`am.  Same time tomorrow for torture.  I'll set up a reminder for you, just in case you forget, okay?" Ariss mock scowled at her and left Medical.  The nurse was the only one who had picked up on Ariss' occasional memory lapses but hadn’t informed anyone.  She was there when Ariss was bought in and saw the confusion she went through trying to accept everything.  She thought Ariss deserved a chance to get through this problem on her own steam without the Captain or anyone else looking over her shoulder.

-=Passage Way=-
The limp wasn’t so pronounced now, but still noticeable. A few crewmembers traversing  the halls, nodded and smiled at her. "Ma`am," they said and went to a slight attention pose. Ariss returned the nods. "Continue on.  And no need to go to attention when I'm around. Save that for the Captain and your Department Heads," she said and continued on.  She looked at a PADD and read it for a moment before tapping her combadge to contact Aideen Brant. "Miss Brant, this is Cmdr Zorran. Please bring yourself and.." She paused and looked at the PADD once more. "..the other Ms Brant, to the Captain's Ready Room.  I expect to see you there in 10 minutes. Zorran out."

-=Ready Room, 8.5 minutes later=-
Ariss leant against the desk, there was a decanter of iced tea and 3 crystal goblets.  She recalled the way she had been introduced to her circumstances and thought that this was perhaps a better way to tell Carla Brant that if she didn’t join the crew she'd be put on an unmanned planet to live out the rest of her days with no-one but herself to keep her company.

At 9.5 minutes the Ready Room door chimed.  Ariss straightened and stepped behind the desk. "Enter," she spoke and placed her hands behind her back.  The two women entered and she waited until they had focused on her before speaking.  "Welcome, please take a seat.  I'm Cmdr Ariss Zorran, XO of this fine ship.  I apologize that the Captain couldn’t be here, but he is indisposed at the moment. So, on his behalf, I wish to welcome both of you to the USS Mystic. I'm sure you have questions, there will be time for that later, but first let me tell you about the ship." She looked to Aideen and sat down. "Please help yourselves to some Iced Tea.  It's not the best, the replicator hasn’t quite got the hang of it, but it's nice enough. Now, Crewman, I asked you to be here because I know how confusing this can be.  I went through this myself not so long ago.  According to this.." She held up a PADD, ".. this woman here is your mother.  Talk about reunions." She tried her best at a kindly smile, but her smiling abilities were severely lacking.

She looked down at the PADD again, collecting her thoughts, before looking at Carla. "As I'm sure your, ah, daughter has told you, the Mystic is a 'timeship'." She paused, tapped the PADD a few times, then pushed it across to Carla.  "These are the details of what we do, please take a few minutes to read it." She poured some Iced Tea into one of the goblets and leaned back in the chair, sipping as the newest member read about the Mystic.  She waited 5 minutes before she put the goblet down. "Now, it comes down to business.   Because you are from a different timeline, we can't very well let you wander about on your own. So you have two choices. Either you join us in our mission or we set you down on an unmanned planet where you shall live out the remainder of your days alone.  You need not decide now, take some time to think on the matter.  I'm sure you have questions you wish to ask, so ask away."  Ariss picked up the goblet once more and prepared herself to play 20 questions.

Personal Post "Captain needs a Tux"

Stardate: 51103.29.2100

Since Ael forbade him from using his Starfleet dress uniform Sharek decided he needed a tux that accented Ael dress. Since Tobias was already doing Ael's wedding dress he figured he would try him first. "Computer where is Lt JG Tobias?"

Computer, "Lt JG Tobias is in his office." With that Sharek headed to Tobias' office. Once there he rang the door chime.

The door chime rang in Anton's office. "Computer, who is at the door?" he asked.

The computer responded, "Captain Tekon, Sir."

Anton, "Okay open the door."  As the door was opening, Anton quickly turned off all the monitors showing his nearly complete Mysty diagnostics.  Anton stood as the Captain walked in the room.  "Sir, have a seat.  What can I help you with?"

Sharek walked in and sat down while saying, "I wanted to know if you could help me with a tuxedo for the wedding? Ael forbade me from wearing my Starfleet dress uniform so I need something that accents her dress."

Anton sat back in his seat and replied, "Of course, Sir.  What style of tuxedo would you like?" As he was saying this Anton brought up different styles of tuxedos on the display.  All of the thousands of different styles, flashed on the display.  Anton was ready for the captain not to know what to do.

"Well since Ael said she picked pre-Raphaelite style, I guess I will go with that. Unless you think something else would look better, like maybe Victorian style." Sharek said while watching the displays flash by.

Anton looked at the Captain with a bit of amazement, "Sir, if you know about the styles why don't you just use the replicator?  It all comes out the same anyway.  It's just a difference in workmanship and perfection.  Using the replicator it comes out exactly as the computer has in it's programming without being able to do small design modifications.  Are you really sure you need my help, Sir?"

Sharek rolled his eyes as he spoke, "Ael wants everything to be perfect and that includes the workmanship of the wedding outfits. As for my knowledge I have a fascination with Victorian England mainly London which caused me to read up on everything from that time period up. But now that I think about it perhaps we should stay with pre-Raphaelite. What do you think?"

Anton, "I believe that would be best, sir. Victorian would be too modern to try and match with a pre-Raphaelite."  Anton brought up the different styles and highlighted one.  "I believe this one would look best in accordance with Tr'Radiak's dress.  I believe this color," Anton brought up the style as a white tux with silvery blue trim, "would look best on you, Sir.  What do you think?"

Sharek looked at the design and nodded his head right before he spoke, "That looks perfect, I knew when I saw designing in your profile that you were the man to do the wedding outfits."

Anton, "That was quite observant of you, sir.  If there is anything else you need, I need to get to work on finishing Ael's dress and making your tux." Anton stood and offered his hand to the captain.

Sharek stood up and shook Anton's hand as he spoke, "Thank you for your time, Notify me when it is done." Then as quickly as he had come, Tekon left the office.

Major Vhorani

Scientist, Chort Vessel

Time:  approximate 65 million years ago

Above the third planet of a yellow sun a mammoth vessel over two miles long and one mile wide hovered in high orbit.  They are there for scientific purposes to study the large reptilian beasts on a single super continent.  Surprisingly, the planet was mostly tropical.  Some of the warm blooded animals shows promise of eventual higher intelligence, and perhaps one day the planet could be habited buy the race that was studying it. Some of the more humanoid looking reptilians that were found on the planet were given the option of leaving to find a world free of their more primative bretheren.

The Chortian vessel was one of only three ships that existed.  The Chort were massive and muscular hairy mammals.  They never needed the use of external clothing, and were mostly vegetarians but will eat meat on occasion.  The home stars of Chort are six in number with 64 planets, only 28 of them were habited though.  Defense of the planets were provided by a fleet of fifty-two ships and tens of thousands of smaller two to three man fighters that are at home in  the vacuum of space, a planets atmosphere, or under water.

"Captain R'tau."  The silver back "ape" turned to listen to one of the scientists that was studying this blue world.  Major Vhorani was a younger dark black fur ape that was having a time of his life exploring this world.  Listed as a fighter ace, he enjoyed his call to exploration far better than being behind the controls of a delta wing fighter. He continued after R'tau looked at him, "The planet has remarkable life on it!  It has plenty of food, water, and a compatible atmosphere for colonizing."

The ships commanding officer looked at the report. "Agreed Major, however these current life forms are too massive and uncontrollable for a safe colonization even minus their more intelligent cousins.  The fourth planet looks acceptable with the shallow oceans..."  Vhorani interrupted, "Yes ma'am, however the fourth planet's mass is too small to keep the water.  In a few million years it will be a cold and dry desert.  But, if you see the last page, we can colonize this third world in a matter of years.  There is a minor planet that is on a collision course and will impact the planet within 25% of a solar revolution.  It will, unfortunately, eliminate about 75% of the total life on the planet -- that includes over an estimated 95% of the primary life forms."

R'Tau looked at the screen in sorrow.  "A pity that God permits an entire planet life to die.  So be it.  Very good Major recall your people to the ship.  We've been ordered to return home."

Major Vhorani looked at her.  R'tau was an old friend of his.  "The Satayanians?"

She nodded, "Intelligence suggest that they may be starting some sort of trouble."

Within a single revolution, the massive warship with it's 1,560 fighters left the blue planet.  The powerful engines propelled it to 15 times faster than light to perhaps help protect it's people from a race that worshiped the fallen angle.  A race that cannot and will not accept any other intelligent life form...

Aideen picked up the goblet that was sitting next to her, trying to figure out if what she was seeing was some sort of trick. The questions came along as she looked at the goblet. She kept her temper inside from the last statement, feeling more confusion then anger. “How do we know that this… ship or time is not some sort of… holodeck illusion?“ She asked, still looking at the goblet.

Ariss nodded in understanding. “Computer, can you verify that the Mystic is not a holographic projection?” she asked.  The computer responded with a mouthful of techno-babble and Ariss looked to Aideen.  “I cant explain any of what that means, but the short answer is this is not a holodeck illusion,” she looked from Aideen to Carla. ‘1 down, 19 to go,’ she thought and waited for Carla to speak.

Carla listened to the response and then took a sip of her own goblet blinking a few times. "My question is do I have to go back to the Academy to relearn everything since I have been out of the loop for approximately 160 years?"

She shook her head.  “I doubt it highly. You will, however be required to participate in a fitness test to prove to the Captain that you are able to be a capable member of the crew.”

Aideen looked at the XO, feeling slightly more at ease after hearing the last answer from her. She was still confused inside though. Her curiosity was still getting the best of her. “If this is the future, what has happened in the… 90 years that I have been gone?” She asked, taking a small sip of the iced tea and making a face of… small disgust afterwards.

Ariss shook her head.  “Sadly, I’m unable to answer that. I just don’t know.  I don’t even know what happened in my time.  I understand it must be hard, but give it time.”

Carla listened putting her goblet down and then twiddled her thumbs a little while the XO answered her daughter’s question. She looked at the XO. "Who is the department head of the Science Section? I would like to know who my boss is going to be since you gave me such great choices to either stay or be exiled for the rest of my 250 years."

“I’m not sure, I haven’t got myself up-to-date with the crew yet. I’ve been attending to other matters.  I’ll get you the information as soon as possible though.”

Aideen looked over as she heard her mother’s question. The confusion was starting to change, feeling her temper coming in now as she spoke slowly. “How is it now that we have returned to being crewman when… back in my own time, I was a Lt… and a really good Ops officer? I prided myself on keeping my record as clean as I could and now… we are at the bottom. No disrespect,
Ma’am… but I believe that the rank you are calling me now is… not my rank and… completely wrong.”

“You are correct, Crewman.  In ‘your’ time you were a Lt. But we are in a different time now, and you will stay a Crewman Apprentice until the Captain tells you otherwise,” Ariss said a little harsher than she’d meant to.

Carla put her hand on her daughter’s hand and tried to calm her down. "I have been wondering the same thing. I know the need and a little of the reasoning behind our "demotion" but was it necessary to take away my daughters commission? She worked hard for it and I seriously don't think that things have changed that much in the 90 years since she was a Lt.”

“You’d be surprised what can change when you’re out of touch for a while.  It is a reasonable question though, but one best directed at the Captain.”

Lt. JG Anthony Tobias Duty Post "The Wedding Gift"

Head of Shadow Ops and Bartender

Dawn, Shadow Ops A.I., USS Mystic

Mysty, Ship's A.I., USS Mystic

Stardate 50311.30.1415

Anton had been working on the "Wedding Gift" for quite some time now.  He had been working faster and more efficient for two reasons; one, his Borg implants, and two, Dawn.   Work on the project had been going on twenty-four hours a day since he got Dawn online.  Mysty was coming along nicely.

"Dawn, was is the current complete percentage on Artificial Intelligence Program Mysty?" Anton asked his lovely assistant.

Dawn replied in her normal loving tone, "99.82 percent, Anton"

"Thank you, Dawn." He replied.  He knew that the last things he had to do was turn her on.  If she was operational, Anton would set the timer to put her officially online throughout the ship.  The captain was going to love his "gift".  "Dawn, initialize Mysty, we're turning her back on."

Displays lit up with diagnostics and lines of system information.  Everything was going perfect.  The final countdown started.

     5...4...3...2...1...

With a flash of light the embodiment of Mysty appeared in Anton's office.  Anton had not put her online with the ship, but had accessed his holo-emitters so that she would become a physical entity again.  Mysty materialized nicely.  "Mysty, I am Lt. JG Anthony Tobias, Head of Shadow Operations and the person that repaired your systems."

     Dawn, "Hey! I helped too."

Mysty looked around the room then scanned her physical parameters before speaking, "I am the Mystic group registry USS, ship registry NX-T, nickname Mysty. I need the ship files and logs that will bring my memory up to date installed since you have left me... disconnected from the ship."

Anton pressed a few buttons and downloaded all the missing logs and data that she had requested.  "I have left you disconnected for the reason that you are going to be a wedding gift for the Captain and his soon to be wife."

Mysty smiled as she spoke, "Hmm...the Captain has been busy, once again he has surpassed the expectations of what he could do in a limited time period. Curious though that no one has tried to recover the missing data from the time period that the virus deleted. If you allow me limited access to that section of the computer core I can attempt to use my own recovery programs to salvage any data left."

Anton, "I'm sorry, I cannot do that.  I'm afraid that you cannot be online until a certain date and time.  If I were to give you limited access then you might try and hack your way onto the ship's systems."  With that comment Anton pressed a few buttons and Mysty disappeared and turned off.

     Dawn, "Why'd you do that?"

Anton, "I can't risk her getting into the system.  I have to make sure that she will come online exactly when I want her to, and not before then."  Anton sat back down and went to work writing the program that would run the timer.  The timer would turn Mysty back on and complete her repairs by making her online with the ship's systems once again.

Anton completed the program and set it into action.  Mysty would come back online just after the estimated time of the wedding completion, just at the beginning of the reception.  Anton knew that the Captain and his beautiful new wife would love their gift.

Captain Sharek Tekon
Captain, USS Mystic

Lt Cmdr Ael Tr'radiak
CMO, USS Mystic

Personal Post "The Picnic"

Stardate: 51103.30.2300

Ael checked the basket one more time. Yep. She did have everything in there. She went to the holodeck, knowing if Sharek wasn't there yet he would be soon.

Sharek was already in the Holodeck he had created a beautiful field in between a line of tree's and a white sandy beach that showed off crystal blue ocean waters. He was currently thinking about whether or not he wanted to add a dock and small boat to the scene.

Ael walked into the holodeck and said "Wow" in amazement. It was beautiful.

Sharek looked up with her and said, "Yes but it's missing something. Maybe I should add a small dock and a two person boat?"

Ael grinned "Then it would be perfect my love"

Sharek walked over to the arch and using the helmet interface made the changes quickly. After putting the helmet away he walked in letting the doors close and the entrance disappear. "Computer secure holodeck doors and notify me if anyone tries to enter."

     Computer, "Door secured."

Sharek walked back over to Ael and wrapped his arms around her picking her up basket and all. After spinning her around he set her back down and said, "Finally some free time without interruption."

Ael wrapped her arms tight around him "That's a novel idea." she smiled up at him. "Can they run this ship without us yet?"

Sharek smiled as he replied, "I believe so, in fact Zorran is meeting with some of the newbies right now."

"Remind me to thank her" Ael grinned. "Is this somewhere you know, or is it just a holdeck creation?"

Sharek stopped hugging her long enough to take the basket from her and set it down, "It is a real place, On Tiligna IV I believe. It was discovered in the year 2478 on the outer rim of the beta quadrant. I was with the ship that found it because of a fluke, we were sent there to help a freighter whose engines were shorted out when we detected it on long range sensors."

Ael looked around her, listening to the birds singing "And you remembered it in such detail?" she was impressed.

"I simply have a photographic memory." Sharek said modestly.

Ael grinned "Still.. and it's only one of your many wonderful qualities" She pointed out.

Sharek picked the basket back up, "So do you want to have the picnic here or on the boat?"

"I think here would be best" Ael could see herself dropping the basket right into the water. It could happen.

Sharek handed Ael the basket so they could unpack it. He retrieved a blanket from the basket and laid it down first, then knelt down.

Ael started taking out containers of food and laid them on the blanket. Then the bottle of wine, plates and glasses. It wasn't long before she was done.

"Oh, I saw Anton this morning, he is doing my tux in the same time period as your dress. Everything is moving along fine." Sharek stated happily.

Ael leaned over and kissed him. "I can't wait to see you in it." she smiled.

Sharek kissed her back before turning his attention to the food, "So what did you bring to eat?"

Ael grinned "Well wouldn't be a picnic without fried chicken, potato salad, corn on the cob and
biscuits" "And of course, wine" she laughed.

"It sounds delicious. Anything for desert?" Sharek said with a hint of seduction in his voice.

"Oh...for starters, fresh strawberries" Ael laughed flirtatiously.

"Good start, so lets begin eating so we can.... explore desert." Sharek said flirting back.

Ael grinned and handed him a plate. "By all means my love. Dessert can be ..interesting" with a purely evil grin.

Sharek took the plate and began to gather his meal. Once his plate was full he got silverware for the potato salad. Once done he began eating, hungry from the engineering work he was helping with today.

Ael was kind of quiet, while she filled her plate. "This is wonderful" she said with a smile. "It's a beautiful day, and I am here with the man I love"

"And I am with the woman I love." Sharek said before continuing. "On a work related note, we had to tear both of our new Senior officer's shuttles apart in order to fix them and upgrade them to what we were able too. The shuttle bay's beginning to fill up to, at this rate we will have to start storing them in the cargo bay in pieces. Could be worse. I'm sorry we can't rescue you because our transporters are out and the only shuttlecraft we have left are in pieces." Sharek laughed.

"Ohhhh" Ael laughed "Now if that happens its your fault" she teased.

Sharek finally stopped laughing and continued eating since he was half finished.

Ael took a sip of wine and ate some more. Before too long they were through with the food.

After they packed everything back in the basket Sharek led Ael to the boat sitting at the dock. "I think desert would be better on the boat."

Ael smiled and squeezed his fingers in hers. "I believe I agree with you"

Once on the boat Sharek sailed it out onto the rolling waves of the ocean's crystal blue water. "Ahhh peace and relaxation, this is what I never get enough of."

Ael smiled "I'll make sure you get it love, if I have to make it a medical order"

Sharek smiled as he drew Ael close to him and kissed her deeply, "Good, now I have no reason not to be relaxed."

Ael kissed him back, pulling him close to her. "Then I am happy, truly my love"

Sharek enjoyed the moment because in the back of his mind he knew this could be one of the last chances they would have to spend without interruption.

Ael treasured every moment they spent together. Mainly because if there was one thing she'd learned in her short life, it was how quickly one could lose the ones that one cared about. She tightened her arms around him, determined that he wouldn't be lost.

Major Vhorani

Scientist, Chort Vessel

Time:  approximate 65 million years ago

In the massive starship still hours away from it's home Major Vhorani was discussing some of his ideals with engineering colleagues on the Temporal Drive.  The Chief Engineer had the floor..."Major, you can't physically stop time.  It's impossible!"  Vhorani could only smile, temporal class 101...

"What is time?  I tell you the truth that time does not exist as a physical entity.  It's perhaps a fourth dimension.  Time only exist in our heads!  We create it in the rotation of our home world, or the pulses of a quasar!"  The other officers listened to him with interest.  "The warp engines create a field around the ship to keep the mass constant as it accelerates above and beyond light so that you won't need infinite energy to move infinite mass.  Now, what is real evidence that time exist?"

Here the doctor answered, "Well, one thing is that we age."

Vhorani nodded his head, "Correct!  The temporal field that I hope to create will put the ship into a zero energy state.  Where all electrons are halted in moving, and into the fourth dimension that I believe exists..."  The talk ended fast as an announcement came over the speakers.

"Attention all crew.  Ten minutes ago we received word that the Satayians's were launching an attack on the third fleet in the Chushe star system.  Long range scouts have reported that the entire fleet was destroyed from a single explosion, and the star system with its six planets are now destroyed after the sun detonated in a supernova.  We are now at war.  All hands -- man your Battle Stations."

Hours passed, and the massive ship was in a binary system with two other fleets of a total of seventeen ships.  The Binary was the second most populated system of the Chortian Republic and had a population of over 10 billion on five planets.  Out on patrol was Major Vhorani and his lady friend Tan'Ru.  There assault craft had the experimental temporal drive built into the warp drive sled on it's back.  Both have been briefed on the attack methods of the Satayanians.  "There they are!  Four ships bearing 218 mark 36!" tan'Ru reported to the mother ship.  In the Combat Information Center, Captain R'Tau didn't see why the attack was with so little ships?

Nobody seen the small unmanned craft that was cloaked. Even if they did, it wouldn't had made any difference.  There were two of them out there.  One was much larger with special armor to help it penetrate the primary stars own plasma, and the smaller second one uncloaked near the center of the two fleets.  A fighter opened up on the second one as soon as it uncloaked.

There was no visible explosion when the warhead detonated.  But an explosion from an artificial energy source expanded and grew in strength.  A super powerful shockwave hits the ships of the two fleets in a very short amount of time.  All of them, including the two large 3 mile ships, were instantly vaporized.

Of the 17 warships and 10,000 plus fighters, only less than twenty-five small fighters survived the shock wave.  Major Vhorani and his girl friend were one of them.  They sat in shock from what they saw.  Vhorani worked on the controls, "We need to regroup.  Set course for the fourth fleet."  Tan'Ru froze, tears were streaming from her eyes.  The young gorilla shook his friend, "Tan'Ru!  We need to move, we'll grieve later on!"

She got back to the controls, "This is not good.  Something is wrong with space.  I can't get a stable warp field!  Vhorani, will you check the systems in the back?  The shock wave may have disrupted the machinery."

Major Vhorani went into the back, while Tan'Ru was attempting to contact the other fighters that survived.  She was interrupted by an sensor alarm!  "VHORANI!  THE SUN'S CORE, IT'S COLLAPSING!  SUPERNOVA EXPLOSION IS IN PROCESS!  JESUS, NO THIS CAN'T BE!"

A brilliant flash of light bathe the ships destroying twelve more fighters.  "SHOCK WAVE  MOVING AT 0.95c!!!  FIRST PLANET TO BE IMPACTED IN 3 MINUTES!  THERE'S NO HOPE FOR THEM!"  Vhorani ran back at front.  Tan'Ru looked at him, "We are all going to die."  Vhorani slammed his fist into the console without warp drive, the shock wave will hit them in 4.8 minutes vaporizing them as it did and will do to the surviving fleet and planets.  Unless....

"THERE MIGHT BE A CHANCE!  TAN'RU WORK WITH ME!  EMERGENCY COLD TEMPORAL START-UP! START PRE-IGNITION SEQUENCE!"

Tan'Ru got out of her chair, "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!  WE NEVER EVEN TESTED IT YET!"

Fighting back his anger Vhorani grabbed the Chimpanzee's arms, I DON'T HAVE TIME TO EXPLAIN MY THINKING!  WE MAY BE ABLE TO GO BACK IN TIME TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING!  I KNOW THAT THERE IS A VERY SLIM CHANCE THAT WE'LL LIVE, BUT IT'S BETTER THAN NO CHANCE WHEN THAT SHOCK WAVE HITS US!  PLEASE, I'M ASKING YOU TO TRUST ME!

Tan'Ru went to the controls trying to act calm, "OK my warrior.  I don't think it's going to work, we need three hours of ignition.  I guess we can die when the reactor loses control of the Omega particles.  I always wondered what it's like being converted to Omega radiation!"

Vhorani came back to his seat soon after. "Let's power it up.  Skip the safety protocols.  Set the flux to negative 15%.  Jesus, keep the reactor stable and have your angles with us.  I know there busy now!"

In the wink of an eye the assault ship that Vhorani and Tan'Ru was in vanished!  The star system, that they were in, exploded destroying all the planets that was in it.  The small Satayanian fleet move to the home star of the Chort's.

65 million years later...

In a long dead binary star system of a neutron star and a white dwarf in an area claimed by the United Federation of Planets, a rip in space opened spewing out a few Omega particles!  At the same time a small ship also appeared.  It badly damaged with torn and warped metal, as plasma streamed out of it's ripped warp sled.  Inside with the life support failing, two members of the ape race lay collapsed on the deck floor.

The ships computer sent out an universal distress call.

Ops Officer, "Sir, we are detecting Omega particles exiting a temporal rift along with a craft of unknown design, there are two life forms in critical and life support is offline."

Helm Officer, "Eta would bring us to 8 hours past their deaths, I recommend a Temporal incursion after we begin our course to their location."

Tekon, "Good work, set Engines take us to Slipstream when ready, keep max speed for as long as possible. Set temporal coordinates for 9 hours ago just to make sure."

Tekon pressed a few buttons and opened internal comms, "All Hands prepare for Temporal Incursion this is a Yellow Alert and an Omega Directive Response. Medical be on standby for two injured... humanoid life forms of unknown race and origin. Engineering and Shadow Ops prepare for Omega particle neutralization and report to the shuttlebay to prepare to retrieve an unknown craft that just made a Temporal jump. Science study the opening and closing temporal rift and record all readings. Conn and Ops be ready for emergency maneuvers in case the Omega Particles become volatile."

8.5 hours later in a long dead binary star system of a neutron star and a white dwarf now claimed by the United Federation of Planets, a rip in space opened spewing out a few Omega particles!  At the same time a small ship also appeared.  It badly damaged with torn and warped metal, as plasma streamed out of it's ripped warp sled.  Inside with the life support failing two members of the ape race lay collapsed on the deck floor.

"Online and in Trouble"

Stardate 50312.07.2400

Anton, heard the report about the Omega Protocol and knew that wedding gift or not, Mysty had to come online.  This was an emergency situation and he knew that he would need all the help he could get.  After coming onto the ship and learning of the Omega particles and all the technology that goes with dealing with them, Anton went to work.  With the help of Terminal, Anton made a design that would be able to permanently hold and stabilize the particles, but he needed Mysty's help to make the device.  Anton downloaded the plans to a padd and headed for the captain's ready room.

Anton got to the captain's ready room and headed right into the room knowing that this was an emergency.  "Sir, I need to tell you something that is vitally important to the mission of handling the Omega particles."

Sharek had people coming in and out of his office for the last half hour so he wasn't surprised when Anton walked in. "What could be vitally important, the collection and neutralization of Omega particles are routine in my time period." Sharek said as he read the latest temporal sensor reading of the ship they left 8.5 hours in the future.

Anton replied and handed the captain his padd, "Sir, I have designed a device that would be able to permanently contain and stabilize it's environment.  I designed this with the help of terminal and it wouldn't take that long to build as long as I do one thing..." Anton's voice trailed off and he stood there waiting for the captain's response.

Sharek looked at Anton and handled things in the order addressed to him, "That is excellent, normally we are bound to the task of neutralizing them but with the Temporal Borg out there we need all the advantage we can get. As for building one... the unit you have planned is too small, our latest sensor reading show they may be coming from the engine unit itself. Your best bet is to modify the existing unit which is on the security deck, your authorization code can access the room and the ship keeps accurate logs of all transfers of omega particles as well as activity in the room." Sharek took a deep breath then looked at him, "Now what do you need to do and why do I think I'll not like it?"

Anton, "I'll modify the existing unit to be a temporary holding unit due to the fact that using that unit would drain too many of the ship's resources.  In the time that the unit could hold the particles, I can make several of the smaller units.  In the future I hope to make a explosive device using the same technology as my containment units." Anton paused for a moment, "Sir, I’m going to need to give you your wedding gift early."

Sharek looked at him and rolled his eyes, "Just spit it out, I'm a busy man and we don't have allot of time. With Mysty offline things take a little longer than normal."

Anton took a step back. "It will be easier for me to show you.  Computer, connect me with Dawn in Shadow Ops."

Dawn, "Yes, Anton.  What do you need."

     Anton, "Emergency Authorization Code Alpha 6 7 3 8 6 Tango Whiskey."

Dawn with a questionable sound in her voice, "Are you sure, Anton? Weren't we saving that for the wedding?"

Anton, "Yes, I’m sure. It's an emergency situation."

     Dawn, "Okay, Anton."

With that the holoemitters came on in the room and Mysty appeared in the room, standing next to Anton.  Anton spoke with a worried look on his face, "I fixed Mysty. She's been ready for about a week now.  I was going to turn her online as a wedding gift for you and Ael, sir." Anton knew that this was not going to be good.

Sharek's jaw dropped as he quickly said, "Well I guess it won't take nearly as long to do things now... f**k."

Mysty smiled, folded her arms and walked around the desk next to Sharek and calmly said, "My sentiments exactly,... Sharek you're in trouble."

Sharek looked at Mysty and then at Anton, "Anton thank you very much. Mysty I am so glad you are back, can we talk about this in private though."

Mysty smiled hugged Sharek suddenly then happily said, "Okay!" then she disappeared and reappeared lying down on the couch in the room.

Anton looked up at the captain, "Well, sir, I need to get to work on the containments units.  I'll be in Engineering." Anton turned to Mysty and said, "Mysty, report to engineering when you are done 'talking'. Make it quick if you can."

"Okay I'm there already; as well as the Security deck, the Shuttle Bay, and the Bridge. That’s my current limit though." Mysty said as she sat up and began playing 3D chess with herself controlling both sets of pieces.

Anton looked at Mysty with an odd look on his face, "Oookaayy...um...whatever.  Captain can I have authorization to access Dawn outside of Shadow Ops?  I already have the program to do it ready to run. I was being prepared."

"Certainly, in this situation that is understandable, just...Make sure she talks to Mysty on a computer level first... I don't need an A.I. war on my ship." Sharek said calmly and politely.

"Okay, sir, but they have already been talking.  She's been locked in Shadow Ops for the past week.  They seem to have been getting along quite well, which scares me a little.  Everything will be fine.  I must go work on the unit now.  We don't have much time."  Anton saluted the captain and left the room.

     With that we fade out.....

"Preparing for the Omega Particles"

Stardate 50312.08.0145

[En Route to the Ship's Destination]

Anton reached Engineering and went to work.  All of Engineering was rushing around getting the necessary equipment ready.  Some were preparing the existing containment and neutralization unit to be modified.  Anton rushed around, giving orders and helping out.

Anton started with accessing the computers and quickly bringing Dawn onto the system.  She would be running all of the computer systems needed to modify the existing unit and creating the new unit.  The room was being created out of a containment room in Shadow Ops.  Everything was starting smoothly, but Anton knew it wouldn't stay that way for very long.

Anton spook up to Mysty, "Mysty, I need you to go supervise the modification to existing unit,  just download the plans from the computer database and get to work."

"Yes, Anthony, already doing that." Mysty replied.

Anton, "Okay, well help us work on these containment units."

     Mysty, "Okay, right away."

Anton went back to work, Dawn interrupted him working.

Dawn, "Anton, they are having problems with converting the neutralizer unit to a large containment unit."

Anton, "Okay, beam me there."  Anton transported to the security deck.  "Mysty, what's happening?"

Mysty, "The neutralizer's computer isn't letting us initialize the new power management system.  Also, it won't configure to change it's programming to let it run to your specifications."

Anton replied as he headed to the unit's computer, "Okay, I’m on it."  Anton got to the computer and immediately started working on the programming codes.  He had to quickly right the new lines of code needed to initialize the power management system first, since it would be affecting the ship's power systems directly.  With a few quick spurts of typing and moving lines around he was quickly solving the first problem. Mysty watched and knew everything he was doing as he did it.  She was quite amused by this and let out a small chuckle.

Anton solved the first problem.  As he was working, he heard Mysty and said, "Are you really that amused by me?  I figured you would be used to this, being that you have seen former Borg work like this before."

Mysty, "Impressed and amused.  You are more skilled than I would have guessed."

"Thank you." Anton replied as he worked. He quickly finished solving the second problem and stood up.  He started the system and saw the lights in the room flicker for a moment. "Well that was interesting."

Mysty, "Don't worry, I rerouted the power grid to equalize the change in needed resources.  Well looks like you are done.  I'll transport all of us to engineering. I'll keep a hologram here to run it when we get to our destination."

"Okay." Anton and the other engineering technicians were beamed down to Engineering to find chaos going on.  Techs were running around like madmen.  "Dawn, what's happening?"

Dawn, "Anton, there was a slight problem with the electromagnetic field emitters, but the problem has been solved.  They have finished with all the equipment and are starting to assemble the containment units.  You are needed in Shadow Ops. to tell them were you want the power bases."

Anton headed to Shadow Ops and met the engineering techs there.  The techs needed to know where the bases where going to be placed.  Anton showed them and headed back to Engineering.

Things had calmed down and canisters were being assembled.  Anton waited around giving small orders here and there.  Engineering was doing quite well with the resources they had.  Anton was impressed by this. He watched as the first canister was finished.  He walked up and took it off the tech, "I'll run the diagnostic on this one."  The tech looked at him and nodded.  Anton returned to the main computer and ran the diagnostics on the canister.  It was perfect.  It worked just how he had planned.  The containment canister would hold 15,000 Omega particles each.  That was enough to hold them safely in a more transportable unit.  It would be useful for not only Shadow Ops, but also Science to run experiments on Omega Particles.

After Anton left the doors shut quicker than normal and the sound of them locking could be heard as Mysty waved her hand toward them. Sharek took a minute to finish his Captain's log with Mysty ending it so they could talk. Mysty got up from her 3d Chess game after doing a stalemate with herself, looked at Sharek, and spoke in a mischievous tone, "Sharek, I know you used an inverse copy of my recovery program to delete files, logs, and other data. Why I am not sure, but I believe it has to do with the doctor's death, the unknown chemical in your bloodstream right now, and the Temporal Nanites that are going into remission because of that chemical. So why haven't you even told your fiancée the truth about the Nanites."

Sharek walked over to the 3D Chess game, sat down, and began fixing all the pieces to their original positions, "Because I don't want anyone to know that the Nanites only stay in  submission for 24 hours before I have to use the chemical again to put them into remission. That and I am slowly losing a few minutes of effectiveness for the chemical on the nanites after every use."

Mysty sat next to him using a concerned tone, "So one day far from now the chemical won't work anymore and you'll turn into a temporal Borg right?"

Sharek spoke again almost crying this time, "Yes, the original doctor was infected as well I killed him after he used the only dose of the medication he designed on me. He was turning, I had no choice."

Mysty hugged Sharek then made her first move for the restored 3D Chess board, "That's okay, I will keep your secret for now. But if I detect you are going to turn and become a problem I will kill you to protect the crew and ship."

Tekon looked confused at her while moving his first piece, "Thanks but I thought A.I.'s were incapable of killing Starfleet officers as per their basic programming laws?"

Mysty moved another piece then replied in a teenager tone of voice, "Remember I AM experimental, I can do many things other A.I.'s can't."

Trying to change the subject while they played their game, "So how does it feel to be back online and able to help out again?"

Mysty smiled and responded, "It feels great, I swear if I was going to be locked up in Shadow ops for one more day I was going to start designing a virus to help me break out."

     Sharek, "So why didn't you?"

Mysty, "After getting the computer updates on what was happening  I began to like Anton's idea of using me as a wedding gift. Speaking of which, now that I am online I can do the ceremony if Zorran doesn't want to?"

Sharek saw it looked like he was winning the 3D Chess game and smiled slightly, "That's okay, I want to give Zorran a shot first."

Before Sharek realized what was happening he heard Mysty say, "Checkmate, I win again. This makes 13,752 wins to your 1 win and you know you only won that once because of the attack we were under at the time."

Sharek couldn't believe he lost again he could beat the basic computer every time but almost never beat Mysty, "Hey a wins a win, It's not my fault you had spread yourself so thin during the attack."

Mysty stood up out of nowhere and with one hand lifted Sharek by his collar off the ground, then with attitude in her voice said, "Remember Sharek, You live now only because I am willing to let you have a chance to find a cure to the temporal nanites. Don't you ever forget who you now owe your life too!!"

Sharek blinked as he realized how... human Mysty seemed, and he now knew why Starfleet had deemed her experimental, "Of course, but... could you put me down now I have work to do."

Mysty blinked for a second then looked at what she had done, put him down, then said in an innocent voice, "Okay Sharek if you need me I'll be around."

Finally her holoimage disappeared from his ready room and the doors unlocked. Sharek went back to his desk put his hands on his face and sighed, it was going to be a long day.

"One Crisis After Another"

Ael had been in sickbay for, let's see, one and a half shifts so far. First, the medic in charge had gotten a nasty case of food poisoning, of all things. And then, one crisis right after another.

Even now, there were four crewmembers in sickbay seeking treatment. One for a migraine headache, one with a touch of motion sickness, one nice concussion, and a broken arm from a fall in the mess.

Motion sickness, of all things. Ael shook her head. Finally a small amount of peace as the last one left, all patched up.

She got herself a cup of coffee, and something for the headache pounding in her own temples. She knew more caffeine was a bad idea, but she felt as if she had no choice. She'd taken more hypo stimulants today already than was strictly healthy and could feel the effects slightly.

She took a sip of the coffee. She was beginning to be a little concerned about Sharek. She didn't think he was resting as he should. She made a mental note to talk about it with him.

And immediately her attention was demanded by the newest small crisis, this time, what looked to be a lovely sprain.

Sharek tapped his comm badge, "This is the Captain, the ship will be emerging in a few minutes. Everyone to their stations, We only have one chance to get this right." The comm closed and Sharek sank back in his seat and watched the bridge come alive.

Mysty in a teasing manner, "See..., now that you have Department heads you have nothing to do."

"The Walking Dead"

Ael Tr'Radiak gulped down the steaming coffee, burning her mouth. She sat the empty coffee cup down with a wham! on the smooth metal of her desk. She'd been going for the better part of three days now and she thought her blood was at least fifty percent caffeine by now. Or maybe it was closer to seventy. It was rather hard to tell.

Ael stepped out into sickbay and watched for a moment. Her crew, though they were mostly raw recruits, or they had been a few weeks ago, functioned as the seamless flow that marked a good team. The small half-Romulan woman had adapted to her own changed circumstances. She had gone from the ACMO of a doomed ship, with her dying CO's blood still on her hands, snatched from death only by the Mystic, to the CMO of the Mystic. Along the way she'd done a lot of changing personally. She'd found the love of her life, in the most unlikely of places. And a life where there had been no hope before.

This all flashed through her mind at lightning speed and she wasn't aware of all of it. She stepped forward "Alright people look alive. Incoming wounded!"

She turned to the first person who appeared on one of the biobeds.

^Sometime later^

Sharek had grown weary of sitting in his chair, that and he was falling asleep. He didn't want to do nothing so he headed down to the sickbay to check on the 'patients'.

Ael looked up as Sharek walked in "Hello love" she smiled.

Sharek smiled and responded, "Hello, sweety, How are our new patients doing? I assume everything is fine!?"

She nodded her head. "Yes, they are much improved and should be awaking soon

Sharek studied her face as she talked and saw the tired look on her face, the look Sharek wore for months before meeting Ael and gaining senior officers. "You look like death warmed over."

Ael tried to banish the weariness "I'm not that bad" she reassured him. "I've had enough coffee to float on"

Sharek looked at her disappointingly, "Coffee is no substitute for actual sleep, you taught me that."

"Indeed that is no substitute for true rest" she agreed with him "Nevertheless I am good for at least another day"

Sharek shook his head, "If you stay up much longer you are either going to pass out or make a mistake and I don't need that... we don't need that."

She laughed "Trust me I'd know if that were the case"

Sharek looked at her, “look lie down for a little on one of the biobeds, I'll tell a nurse to wake you if anything happens.”

"Dreamland express, or Omega particle radiation hallucinations!"

His mind was in a daze.  The coolant explosion from the omega core was one of the last things he remembered.  He fought his memories...the alarms, the frantic work he and Tan'Ru did to stop a reactor explosion, and the decision to cool the reactor with the natural temperature of space and eliminating what power they had for life support.

Tan'Ru...a console explosion threw the female Chimpanzee hard against the wall of the fighter before collapsing on the deck.  She looked at him, and with a smile..."you tried Vhorani.  It's time for us to meet God."  Her eyes then closed.  The Gorilla collapsed on the deck next to her as the oxygen was blown out and the reactor cooled down fast.  He had enough strength to place his arm around his best friend.

Alien smells.  Sounds he could not recognized.  He felt intense pain, but that was against what he was taught about heaven.  He managed to get a word out...

"Tan'Ru?"

Vhorani: Tan'Ru ?

Ael was a little surprised that he was awake. She spoke "She is healing," guessing that was a name.

Vhorani took a deep breath.  Very strange smells, many of which he could not identify..."I can't see.  What's wrong with my eyes?"

Ael said "you've been exposed to omega radiation, which causes temporary blindness"

His head was still dazed and spinning..."Omega radiation?  I remember.. the core.. we initiated a cold shutdown as it was about to breach. But why?  My head is in a daze.  I can't quite think..."

Ael said "My specialty is medicine. I do not know why, but I can contact some one who does"

His large nostrils took in more smells.  Something didn't seem right..."I need...I need to talk to Captain R'tau of the Battlestar Komorex.  Please, get a hold of her.  Tell her that Major Vhorani must speak with her immediately!"

Ael said "I believe you should speak with my commanding officer. Sharek is much better at explanations than I"

The gorilla turned his head to the direction of the voice and took in a large breath.  The scent of the stranger was foul!  His face wrenched.  "Who are you?"

Ael said "I am Lt. Commander Ael Tr'Radiak, Chief Medical Officer of the USS Mystic"

Mystic? It was a strange name.  He knew all the warships and none were called Mystic.  Tan'Ru's scent was strong. She was near.  He said too much!  "I'm sorry Ael Tr'Radiak.  My mind must be playing games with me."  He moved his arms, or tried to, and they were secured to something..."How is my friend?"

"She is resting and healing." Ael explained "And now I believe you should rest more. I will explain more about your circumstances later. In the meantime, be assured that you are in good hands and will be well taken care of"

Fear crept into him.  Are they Prisoner's of War?  The Chort knew so little about the Satayanian's.  Is that what he smell?  But, he felt the presence of his God.  It must be a good sign.  "When will I be able to see again?  The smell in the air...it's unusual."

Ael said "It usually lasts roughly 15 hours, so in perhaps another 8." She remembered how disoriented she'd been upon her arrival "You are safe, and you are free"

His body was getting heavier.  He found it difficult to fight sleep as his dark brown injured eyes closed and his body relaxed...

Ael shook her head "Honestly love, I'll be fine" She knew very well that if she tried to rest now it would be difficult for her to get back to work quickly. It was simpler just to keep going.

Sharek knew as well as she did the negatives and positives of staying up for long periods of time. He also knew how stubborn half Romulans could be... especially when they are also half Vulcan. With this in mind he said the only thing he could think of, "Well then lets go for a walk while Shadow Ops and Engineering work on taking care of the Omega particles and retrieval of the ship."

Ael smiled and slipped her arm around him. "That sounds wonderful love." She knew that of all people on the ship, he knew the most about pushing yourself beyond what most would believe possible.

As they left sickbay Sharek started to talk gain, "Mysty is online, she said she was in sickbay so I'm not sure if you saw her, she likes to stay out of sight allot."

"I haven't seen her yet" Ael said "But I'm sure that will change soon enough" she smiled

Sharek walked down the corridor with Ael as they spoke, "When I first met Mysty we became friends and spent all my free time together, so much in fact I started thinking of her as a sister instead of the ship's Avatar. She is also the only being ever to beat me at 3D Chess."

Ael whistled. "That's impressive" And she truly was impressed. Sharek was devilishly clever at 3D chess. She, on the other hand, might do well if someone held a phaser to her head. Maybe.

Sharek, "With her online we will all be able to get plenty of rest, that and if we refuse she'll lock the doors to our quarters till we do. Trust me on this one she did it to me before."

Ael grinned "I believe I'll get along just fine with Mysty. Where your resting is concerned anyways" she teased.

Sharek looked over at Ael, "So how is everything going so far?"

Ael said "They are recovering nicely. "They walked on a little more and then she said "It's a good thing we are young and healthy. Otherwise we could never keep this up"

Sharek laughed, "When that happens we'll get hover chairs to move around in."

Ael grinned "I can see that"

Sharek stopped and kissed Ael, "I can't wait till we are married, I love you Ael."

Ael wrapped her arms around him and kissed him back. "I can't wait either my love." She had a thought and smiled. "What about children?"

Sharek, "Well, since we have no idea how to get back to the Mystic's home time well have to make room for children on the ship. Especially if it ends up we are on are own permanently."

Ael smiled "I find the time irrelevant as long as we are together" she said truthfully.

Sharek, "Yes, besides any children we have will have a great upbringing no matter where we raise them."

Ael smiled "Indeed. and they will have the best father in the universe"

Sharek, "Why don't we stop by the mess hall and grab some food. It will help us stay up."

Ael smiled "I guess I should eat something. I can't remember the last thing I ate"

Personal Post "Trying to get someone's attention"

stardate: 50401.01.2051

Tan'Ru has been awake for a few minutes.  She seen Vhorani in a bed near her, as well as hearing voices nearby. Although she couldn't see anything.  Turning to Vhorani she spoke up.

"Vhorani...VHORANI!"

The black gorilla woke up and looked toward her. "I'm glad to see you are well Tan'Ru!  How are you feeling?"

The chimpanzee tried to move with little luck, "With the exception that my chest hurts a little, plus that I can't move any of my limbs because something is holding them back!  Where are we?"

Vhorani got his thoughts together..."we are being held still by some sort of force field.  You were badly hurt by an explosion.  Exactly where we are, I don't know. I do know that we are in some kind of medical establishment."

Tan'Ru's temper started to show, "Well that's fine!  We need more information!"

"Calm down sweetie.  We are still alive.  HEY!  THE ONE'S THAT ARE TALKING! I LIKE TO SEE SOMEONE IN COMMAND!"

No one came back.  Tan'Ru smiled. "Perhaps you should insult them.  That sometimes gets some attention!  Remember Capt. Celeticia?"

"YES! Plus, the black eye I got from her!  One way to find out. EXCUSE ME YOU HAIRLESS BABOON'S!  I SEEN BABY CHIMPANZEE'S THAT HAVE MORE INTELLIGENCE THEN YOU!"

Tan'Ru couldn't help but laugh! "Vhorani, if that doesn't get attention I don't know what will?"

"Baby Sitting"
Stardate:50401.01.2230

Sterling was in Engineering 'Baby Sitting' the Engineers since the ship still didn't have a Chief Engineer. He was asked by the Captain hours ago to do this to make sure everything went right with the Omega Particle Transfer and ship retrieval. If there was anything Sterling was the best at it was getting things to go right.

Mysty was currently on the other side of Engineering overseeing the last adjustments they needed to do before they used the transporters to move the Omega Particles. Sterling walked over and barked, "Come on people we need this done now."

Engineer, "Were ready for the transfer sir!"

Mysty, "The Containment Container is ready and on."

Sterling, "Then lets begin the transfer and make it quick we don 't want to upset even a single particle."

Mysty, "The transfer has started, and so far so good. It will take 30 minutes using all the  modified transporters to complete the transfer. I am already in the shuttlebay preparing for the shuttle, you should head there too Sterling. I'll watch the kiddies here." Mysty smiled innocently as she finished knowing Sterling was bored with this job.

Sterling, "Fine, I will finish the preparation work in the shuttlebay notify me when the transfer is complete." With that Sterling left engineering and headed to the Shuttlebay.

Once in shuttlebay Sterling found they had just finished putting the last shuttle away leaving the Alien shuttle the only ship repair and updating to be done.

Shuttlebay Engineer, "Sir, we are ready to receive the shuttle, Scans have allowed us to replicate some of the materials and parts we need to fix the craft and we have prepared the new sensors and wiring upgrades for instillation."

Sterling, "Good, I know the Captain will be happy to have another ship, once he gets the Aliens healthy and able to help out we can repair the systems we can't figure out. For now leave the engine for last. We need to make sure there are no more Omega Particles."

     Shuttlebay Engineer, "Yes, Sir."

25 minutes later Sterling saw Mysty walking toward him Mysty smiled, "Transfer is complete all the particles will remain stable for two days, it seems whatever they did to modify the particles to stay stable in the engine agrees with the modifications Shadow Ops made to the containment unit. This should give us plenty of time to see if we are fixing or scrapping the Chort craft's engine."

Sterling, "Chort? I take it you have interfaced with their computer already?"

Mysty, "No I read the markings on the ship." And with that she walked away as the hanger doors opened and tractor beams brought the ship inside. No sooner was it set down the Engineers began completely dismantling it so they could study it, and put it back together fixed and ready for use.

Engineering and Science would wait till they can get into the Chort's computer before they do the serious research on the race and it's technology.

Now all they had to do was get the Chort's healthy.

Sharek and Ael had finished their meal in the mess hall and were now walking back into sickbay. They could see both 'new arrivals' were awake. "Well, It's time we get some information. Right sweety?"

Ael grinned "Yeah, but I have this feeling we have some explanations of our own to make. Especially" she continued with a sparkle in her eyes "when they hear you call me that dear"

Tan'Ru was the first to see the visitors. Vhorani was asleep again.  Taking a few deep sniff's she awoke her superior. "Vhorani, we have guests." The black Gorilla opened up his eyes and looked at the strange creatures.

Sharek walked over to the ape looking creatures, "Good your up, we have a lot to tell each other. I am Captain Sharek Tekon of the Timeship USS Mystic designation NX-T of the United Federation of Planets. From what we can tell you are from 65 millions years in our past."

Vhorani found it hard to believe. He glanced at the Chimpanzee who was thinking on her own.

"Vhorani 523 of the 1st Chortian defense Fleet. That there is my co-pilot, Tan'Ru 487. Your time estimate seems far fetched.  What do you think Tan'Ru"

The Chimpanzee thought for another second or two...

"It sounds like the matock theorem on a cold start.  I did warn you about starting the reactor cold!"  She looked at the hairless person, "are we prisoners?"

Sharek looked at them, "Do I have a reason to consider you prisoners? These restraints were used for medical reasons as well as the safety of my crew till I could talk to you."

There was a hint of anger in Tan'Ru's voice...

"As far as we know you can be the Satayanian's!  Any reason is probable with the war going on!"

Her superior turned, "At ease Tan'Ru.  I would do the same if I was in the position."  He looked at the Captain... "There is no reason you should fear us. What is your basis on the time calculation"

Sharek, "Let me release you and I can show you a computer padd that display's our temporal equipment. It can show you how our sensors established the time lock for your temporal signature."

Ael listened to this exchange, and then keyed in the release for the restraints. "These were as much for your protection as anything" she said.

     Sharek handed Vhorani a padd.

Vhorani felt the restraints released. He slowly got up and went to Tan'Ru and helped her up as they both glanced at the Padd.

Vhorani seen the signature.. "Here, the y-axis.. it's beyond the theoretical limits!"

Tan'Ru was smiling, "You were right on the nose on the Omega reactor!  But why didn't we go back like you planned.."

Vhorani looked like a ghost.. "OMEGA REACTOR! Captain, the ship has a Omega particle reactor..."it was about to breach before I opened the vacuum of space, the particles may be still unstable!"

Sharek, "We know, the particles have been contained and stabilized and your ship is being repaired in my shuttlebay."

Ael said "I know this is all a little overwhelming to you right now. How are you feeling? I believe that the medications helped"

Tan'Ru looked at the medical person, "My chest is hurting a little bit, but other than that I'm OK."

"I feel good" Vhorani added. "Captain, the ship should have re-entered at the same position we left. What are the stars like in the area.  The heavy metal stars. Are our people still there?"

Sharek lowered his head, "The stars in this system are dead, your race was exterminated 65 million years ago... I'm afraid you and your ship are all that remain."

Ael advised Tan'Ru "Take deep breaths. I know it is stunning but try to remain calm"

Tears ran from her eyes. "They had no reason to kill our people!"

Anger burned in the ape, he hid his face to hide his expressions...

Ael put a small hand on the woman's shoulder, attempting to help somewhat.

He screamed and slammed his fist into the wall, tearing a large hole into it... "WHERE ARE THE SATAYANIANS!"

Sharek looked at the raging Chort, "The who? If that is who did this they don't exist today, unless they moved far across the galaxy."

"So we are the last then?" Vhorani spoke softly

Speaking to the wall with tears coming out..."I should have not tried then.  We should've died with our people"

Sharek looked at him seriously, "But you did try, and you are alive that is all that matters."

Ael spoke softly "Your people are not all lost."

"Captain, based on that I have no government to check on. We request political asylum. Plus, the ship we came in.. "The ship is a heavily armed assault ship... You'll find torpedo's in the forward and aft tubes, as well as an Omega Particle Subspace Gravimetric Torpedo in the lower bomb bay" "I have to deactivate the safeties to get to it"

Sharek looked at Vhorani, "Your ship is completely without power, and any weapons will be handled using extreme care. You will be needed when they get the ship put back together though."

Tan'Ru brought the doc closer to speak in her ear.

Ael tilted her head and asked "Yes?" her voice low, "What is it?"

I'm in the very early stages of pregnancy.  Is the child still OK?  Vhorani doesn't know it yet"

Ael hated this part of it. "I'm sorry Tan'Ru." She continued "The radiation exposure caused you to miscarry"

The total bad news was too much, she collapsed on the bed. Vhorani moved to her catching her before she fell "Tan'Ru!"

"What's wrong with her!  I can't lose her as well!"

Ael blinked back tears. Dammit. "She has...received unwelcome news...a child"

     Vhorani, "She's pregnant?"

     "She was" Ael said

"It was to be our first."  He looked up to the ceiling, "Jesus, why are we cursed for!:"

Ael closed her eyes "There are sometimes no answers"

Vhorani gently touched the chimpanzee's face. "Please, can we be left alone for a few minutes?"

     Ael looked at Sharek.

Sharek, "Before we go.  There was a religious figure on Earth centuries ago by the name of Jesus Christ. How does your race know of him? Maybe your race started in our future."

Vhorani  smiled, "Centuries ago our God became a Chort.  He taught us new ideals in peace and love, but was sentenced to death because of certain religious officers.."

Vhorani, "Three days after he died, he came to life again!  Since then our race has changed dramatically.  No wars, no hunger. That is until the Satayanians. It is believed that they follow a fallen angel. I know virtually nothing more of them.  I don't even know what they looked like."

Sharek, "It sounds like your timeline was altered by a time traveler from Earth. If that is the case then this enemy of yours could be anyone in the time stream. Well worry about this later though, you need time to grieve."

Vhorani, "Captain... I was part of a temporal studies team on Chort.. Tan'Ru is an engineer scientist, I can't speak for her, but if you can use me..."

Sharek, "Well, it just so happens I am in need of a Head of my Temporal Science Division. You'll need to go through some work to be registered as a Federation officer, and that means... well have to have you wear... something."

     Vhorani looked confused, "What's wrong?"

Tan'Ru spoke softly, "they don't have fur like we do sir!" "I think they are embarrassed!"

Sharek, "You appearance is fine in the privacy of your quarters which will be assigned; but In public we have a dress code. We'll need you to at least wear shorts and a sleeveless shirt in public."

For the first time Vhorani couldn't help but laugh! "We have outer ware in the ship"

Ael smiled slightly "Nice to see a smile."

Tan'Ru broke down in tears again as she held her mate tighter. Vhorani looked at the two strangers, "Definitely not like home."

Vhorani closed his eyes, "Can we talk later...please."

Ael slipped her arm around Sharek "Indeed we can" The two walked out, lost in their own thoughts.

In the background Vhorani couldn't hold his grief any longer.

"An Evening Full of Surprises"

Stardate:50401.04.0215

It's been a couple hours since the inhabitants of the alien ship had been brought aboard.  Anton had engineering handle the moving of small amounts of Omega Particles into the smaller units from the large containment unit.  Anton was sitting in his office working on ways to harness the particles' power. He had the five smaller units locked away tightly in Shadow Ops, ready for experimentation.

Renee Daniels chose that moment to walk in "Hello" she said, brushing back some of her light brown hair out of her face. Damned stuff.

Anton stood, "Hello.  What is it you need?"

Renee smiled "Actually I was wanting to ask you a question."

Anton, "And what is that question?"

Renee, "Well, I know for a fact you've been on duty at least four hours longer than me. Wouldn't you like to take a break at least?"

Anton, "Really there is no need for me to.  I'm good for several more hours and I have nothing better to do anyway.  All I do on this ship is work, basically."

"I'd like it if you came to the mess with me" said Renee. "I don't think it would hurt anything would it?"

Anton replied, "I guess, I've been living on replicated burritos for the past two weeks anyway.  They really need to update the program for those so they taste a little better."

Renee wrinkled her nose. "You must have been desperate" she said "They could use those for missiles."

Anton chuckled, "You're probably right.  Just give me a moment and I’ll go with you."  Anton moved around his office quickly.  He had to set Dawn to run everything so that work would still get done.  After a few moments, he stood in front of Renee, "Okay, ready."

Renee smiled happily. "Then let's go to the mess."

Anton had Renee lead the way due to the fact that he had never actually been to the mess, always to busy to really sit down and eat.

Renee was kinda quiet but they were soon at the mess. After they'd gotten their food, they sat down. "You must be really busy now," she commented.

Anton, "Yeah kinda.  I got Mysty back online and then created the Omega Particle containment units.  Right now I’m working on using them for tactical usage and figuring out how the new species onboard harnessed it for travel.  When I figure out how they did it I can fully repair their ship.  Have you heard anything about these "humanoid apes" that we picked up?"

Renee nodded "They are similar to old Earth's apes and chimpanzees, but obviously more intelligent, more evolved if you will."

Anton, "Interesting... I have a question, why did you want me to come down here with you?"

Renee turned a little red. "Well, I've seen you around and I've wanted to get to know you some."

Anton, "Why is that, and why are you turning red?  Is there some reason why this conversation is not one you want to discuss?"

Renee, "Oh no" she looked horrified. "I've just not gotten to know many people yet."

Anton, "Why is that, you have had plenty of opportunity.  Security hasn't been doing much until just recently.  And of all people, why me?  I'm just a soldier."

"I find you interesting," Renee said calmly. "I don't feel as if I should guard myself so much around you."

Anton, "Why am I so special?  I figured you would be more comfortable around people that are more "up to date" to you if you know what I mean.  There are more people here that would probably understand the time you came from better that I."

Renee, "I can't explain it exactly," she said. "But there's something I sense in you."

"In what way do you "sense" something in me?" Anton smiled knowing that something was going on in Renee's head that was very interesting.

Renee smiled and said "Well, there's something about you, that makes me want to know more."

Anton, "Really.  That's quite interesting.  Well I’m finished eating, and am going to get back to work unless..."

Renee looked a little disappointed. "Oh. ok"

Anton smiled, "Are you going to let me finish? I was going to say, unless you can think of something we can do.  I don't really have to be doing much of anything."

Renee brightened "Well, in that case..."she paused "What the hell do people do for fun here anyway?"

Anton, "Well, what do you like to do?"

Renee grinned "The best thing I can think of right now would be a nice cold drink."

Anton smiled and playfully said, "Well, we always could go to the bar and get one, I know the bartender better than anyone on the ship."

Renee grinned "I thought you might say that."

Anton moved behind Renee and put his hand on her shoulder, "Now why do you say that?" Anton smiled.

Renee didn't pull away. She smiled in return and said, "I've heard that's another of your jobs."

Anton, "Well it's not like the captain could have picked anyone else on the ship to do it, I am the most qualified.  Now, are we going to go or sit here like toads on acid?"

Renee snickered "Lead on," she said.

Anton took her hand and placed it on his arm and led the way.  They went across the way and put her at a seat at the bar and went behind the bar to mix drinks.  "Now what would you like, my beautiful stranger?"

Renee smiled at him "What would you recommend, handsome?"

Anton, "Well there is always my favorite.  It's called "A Clockwork Orange".  It is of my own design, but it's for only those that really believe they can handle ~unique~ drinks."

Renee smirked "If you can mix it, I can drink it."

Anton mixes up the drink, clearing using Romulan ale. "Are you sure, the only people on the ship who can handle this drink are the captain, sterling, and myself of course?"  He puts the drink in front of her.

Renee smiled "Thanks for the warning." She took a sip and didn't bat an eyelash. She also didn't say anything for a moment. "Smooth," she said when she could talk again.

Anton, "How are you feeling from that little sip?"

Renee smiled. "That's good. I don't have any idea what all is in that, but it's strong. It's already given me a buzz." Renee grinned. "I believe I'll let you now. That stuff has a real kick."

"Okay." Anton picked up the glass and drinks it down. "You have to enjoy the nice orange taste.  I'm feeling quite nice right now.  Well, since we are both feeling a lot better now, what would you like to do now.  I don't think it would be advisable to drink any more."

Renee grinned, "I wouldn't mind a good fight, but since I feel unbeatable at the moment, it's probably a bad idea."

Anton, "You're probably right.  Well I’m going to head off to my quarters to lay down for a little.  I can't really be working in this condition, could blow up the ship accidentally and all."

Renee got up. "I'd really hate that," she giggled. Oh that was a bad sign. She was giggling. She looked up at him "Thanks for a wonderful evening."

Anton, "You're very welcome.  We should do this again sometime. I would invite you along, but that is probably just the Clockwork Orange talking." Anton walked around the bar to her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I guess this is good evening then."

Renee smiled "I'm very tempted to take you up on that. But maybe you are right. Maybe we should make sure that it isn't just the drink talking." She kissed him softly. "Thanks again."

Anton, "Too bad, I probably would have enjoyed it anyway.  Would you like me to walk you to where ever you are going?"

Renee smiled "Sure. Then you'll know where to find me when I'm off duty"

Anton awaited on Renee to get up and start to leave that way he knew where she was heading.

Renee got up and took his hand in hers. "You don't mind do you?" she asked as she started toward her quarters.

"It is no problem at all."  Anton walked with her to her quarters. "Well we are here.  Goodnight, beautiful.  We really should do this again sometime.  Tonight was fabulous."

Renee smiled and kissed him again. "Yes it was. I hope we can, and soon."

"Well what are you doing tomorrow morning?" Anton smiled.

Renee thought it over "Nothing that can't be rescheduled"

Anton, "Would you like me to make you breakfast in the morning?"

Renee smiled widely "Sure, if you'll let me take care of dinner."

Anton, "That will be good.  When do you want me to meet you here?"

     "How about 7?"asked Renee.

"That will be perfect.  Wear something a little more ~you~, okay?  I'm getting tired of seeing these boring old uniforms all the time."  Anton smiled.

"Good, I shall see you later then." Anton gave her a kiss and walked away towards his quarters.  Tonight was going to be fabulous.

"An Interesting Discovery"

Stardate 50401.04.2200

The medical yeoman was ordered to go to the alien craft to retrieve some clothing for the "monkeys".  The gorilla told her where in the ship was their personal quarters...  As she got to the hangar bay she informed the engineering crew what she was doing and she stepped into the dark ship...  Stepping over debris she located the quarter’s right where the monkey said it would be at.  Using a manual device she forced the door open...

Her light shone on several pictures of better times showing a variety of monkeys.  Some were military photos, others more personal family’s photo's... The small compartment had two beds on opposite sides with three lockers in the walls.  She opened the first one which had some leather type material clothing as well as boots... After leaving the clothing on a bed, she went ahead and opened up another locker and she pulled an item out.  It was a long massive object with two openings.  One was much larger than the other.

"Yeoman Hawkes to Security"

"Daniels here" said Renee "What is it Hawkes?"

"Sir, I'm in the new alien craft.  There so called personal quarters getting clothing.  I came across what appears to be a weapons locker.  It has several rife type devices, some hand devices, and several other devices."

Renee, "Leave them alone. I'll be there in two minutes"  She got Richards and K'halan and they were soon there.

"In that locker sir.  I don't understand why they would have so much weapons for just two monkeys"

"I don't know yet" said Renee "But I will"

"Well, I need to get these clothing to them.  Want to check them first?"

Renee and her team made sure there was nothing harmful with the clothing and gave the ok to go ahead.

She took the clothing out of the ship wondering why so many weapons.

Ael breathed a sigh of relief. She was finally done with that bloody medical status report!

Mysty appeared behind Ael, "Hello Ael, I'm Mysty."

Ael spun around, just a little startled "Hi Mysty. I was wondering when you'd drop in."

Mysty walked around the desk giving Ael time to visually follow. "Yes, I have been busy with all the business the Chort people caused. But now I have a hologram free so I decided we should talk... I mean I have been like a sister to Sharek practically so I should meet the woman he's going to marry."

Ael smiled. "Well...ask me anything girl. Anything at all."

Mysty, “Actually I already know most of what I need to know... I mean the computer is basically like my brain. I’m here because I need to make sure you aren’t going to break his heart. I don’t think he could live through something like that... again.”

Ael said softly "You don't have to worry about that, Mysty. I love Sharek more than anything or anyone in this universe. I'd rather die than hurt him, and I'll make anyone's life who does a short living hell."

Mysty smiled, “Good, I mean when I first met him it took me three weeks to get him to talk to me... all because I was female in appearance. I had to decrypt his History file so I could find out why.”

Ael said "Well he's spoken about it to me, but not in any great detail. He has never had trouble talking to me, and that's pretty amazing when you think about it."

Mysty, “Well, I share a slight resemblance to the first woman he ever fell in love with. They were together for quite awhile before she was one day transferred to a different post. When he tried to get her transferred back to him he found out her assignment was to pretend to love him so he would stop breaking out of the facility. It worked because he never wanted to leave after that... he blocked love from his life completely. I spent lots of time working with him when he came aboard till finally he became like he is now.”

Ael was silent for a moment as she considered that. "Then I owe you a debt, Mysty, for being the friend that he needed."

Mysty, “I just showed him reason and logic... something he never had growing up without parents.”

Ael stiffened just a little at the mention of parents. "Still I am grateful." She continued "At least our children will not have that to deal with."

Mysty, “Sorry, about the whole Parent comment... when you have as much information as I do stored in your brain you don’t always have quick access of certain information.”

Ael said "It's alright Mysty. It's not as sore a point with me as it would have been even a year ago."

Mysty’s tone turned sincere as she spoke, “Well if you ever want to talk about it or anything for that matter I’m always here. Sometimes files don’t say everything.”

Ael smiled. "Thank you, Mysty. I hope I've been able to set your mind at ease."

Mysty, “Yeah, I just try to protect my crew... I mean without them who else am I going to have fun with.”

Ael smiled, "That's a good question, Mysty."

Mysty smiled wickedly as she spoke, “If there is ever anything you need to know about Sharek just ask... he may still be holding back a few things about his past."

Ael grinned widely, "You never know. I may have to ask you to get the full story."

As the girls talked Sharek began to walk into sickbay and spotted them talking.

Meanwhile Mysty looked at Ael and quickly said, “He’s coming... if you need to talk or want

information call for me.” and with that she disappeared just as Sharek walked in.

Sharek, “Oh god you two were talking... alone...”

Ael smiled wickedly as she slipped her arms around him. "It's your worst nightmare isn't it?" she teased.

Sharek wrapped his arms around Ael, “Just what I need; the woman who I love talking with the woman who knows things about me that no one should ever know.”

Ael kissed him softly. "You're just going to have to get used to the fact that we'll be conspiring to take care of you."

“That’s what I’m afraid of... At this rate I’ll never get to go on another away mission ever again.” Sharek said as he spun her around in his arms.

Ael laughed in delight. "Oh...you might get to. If you're very good, and you take your bodyguard with you."

Duty Post, "Testing before Going Ape!"
Stardate:50401.13.2300

The two Chort's had there uniforms on and were walking side by side with close security escorts.

Tan'Ru wrapped her arms around her mate’s larger arm and spoke softly, "You know that you do look handsome in that battle uniform!"

Vhorani snorted, "Too damn uncomfortable!  Let's find our quarters so I can relax!"

Her dark brown eyes looked upward, "Now, we can't upset our host.  How about some food?  It's been 65 million years since I ate last!"

Vhorani turned around to look at the two guards, "Well, can you show us where we can eat at?"

In the ship's restaurant the two apes managed to get leafy vegetables and fruit's.  They were hesitant at first since the food was alien to them, however after a few sniff's they gobbled down there meal.  Tan'Ru noticed that her mate was deep in thought. "An apple for your thoughts?"

"It's the Y axis that I seen." Vhorani explained.  "Ever since I seen how high it was -- well it doesn't match the typical arch of Omega spikes.  I'm wondering what happened?  The cold start up had nothing to do with it.  It's like a catalyst was involved."

The Chimpanzee ate as she thought. "Only energy can effect the Omega particles.  What about our weapons?"

Shaking his massive head the Gorilla closed his eyes, "Not likely.  The weapons were on stand-by and no leakage of energy was happening.  If you remember, everything was normal up to the time that we activated the temporal drive."

Minutes passed, "No Vhorani -- not everything.  The weapon that the Satayanian's deployed.  It detonated before the Omega reactor went on line.  We don't know what energy that weapon had!  But, our sensors may have picked it up." Tan'Ru was pointing her finger at him.

"Then, we need access to our ship to find out. Maybe, we can figure out something new about the temporal dimension."  Vhorani finished.

Later in their quarters...

The two naked members of the ape race were on either sides of the room working on the tests that they received to become members of this military/science branch of the alien government.

Vhorani looked up in interest as his mate squatted down shaking her head in silliness and spoke, "Lame, lame, lame, lame!  They call these tests hard!  Our thesis on the ideal of using Omega particles for a power source was much more complicated! I mean, a young chimp could do this!"

He took his eyes back to the PADD. "Tan'Ru, we can't expect them to be as advance as we are.  I find this interesting.  They speak our language, at least one of their religions have Jesus in it, and it follows the same belief’s, and they are very remarkably the same to the Kirovian's.  It's like our two species somehow got reversed.  From what I seen our lower intelligent species died on there home planet a few hundred years ago after a major war, and their lower intelligent duplicates that we call Kirovian's died after the epidemic that ran through them from our intervention."

Tan'Ru remained quiet as she thought on a question.  She finished her test and moved to her mate. "And to think that they wouldn't be here if our people didn't die.  We did have plans to colonize there home world?Right?"

Vhorani looked at her for a second. "I rather not discuss it."  The young Chimpanzee snuggled with him and looked at the PADD. "The answer is 58 kilojoules on the last question.  Talk to me Vhorani.  We need to get it out of our system."

"NO!  You know of my strength and anger.  I must not allow it out.", he answered with a hint of anger in his voice.  She jumped off and raised her voice.

"That is the most selfish attitude I have ever heard from you!  Yes, I am well aware of your strength and your anger! To tell you the truth I think that is a lame excuse because you know I can get you down on the floor faster and easier then you can get me down! WELL?!"

Vhorani finished the test and informed the bridge that they were done with the tests.  He walked passed the pissed off Chimp as he walked toward the kitchen area.

Big mistake.

Tan'Ru screamed at the top of her lungs and jumped on the more massive and heavier apes back.  They both crashed onto the wall.  Vhorani threw her off of his back, and shown his teeth at her.  He launched an assault on her only to be deflected by a more agile female.

The assault was going exactly as Tan'Ru planned.  She can keep Vhorani under her control.  He had a lot of anger buried, and he needs to get it out. Besides, she haven’t had this much fun since before they left the mother ship.  She admired those chest muscles of his before she leaped and grabbed his shoulders and neck before she broke his lower right arm.

Crewman heard the ruckus of the crashing and the angry screams and hollering.  For some reason, several Klingon's on the deck were very interested.

Ael had just finished setting the table, when in walked Sharek. "Hello love," she said brightly.

Sharek looked at the set table and responded in a surprised tone, "Wow, not only have you beat me back here, but your finishing setting the table too."

Ael grinned, "I'm good. Come sit down love, I have news."

Sharek sat down as he replied, "Well then that makes two of us with news; do you know what today is?"

Ael shook her head. "No..what's today?"

Sharek smiled as he poured them both some wine from a bottle he had hid by his side, "Today marks one month since you came aboard and into my life." Sharek handed her her glass and sat down a 3 year old bottle of Romulan ale on the table.

Ael smiled as she took the offered glass. But instead of drinking it, she swirled it around a little in the glass. "Indeed it has been."she was just dying to tell him her news.

Sharek looked at Ael curiously seeing she wasn't drinking, "Something is on your mind so you go first."

Ael sat her glass down on the table, the cerulean liquid inside still untouched. "Sharek," she began, "What are your thoughts on," she hesitated a moment, "children."

Sharek hesitated, perhaps a moment too long before finally muttering, "You mean your...?" He couldn't speak any more as a smile formed on his face and tears came to his eyes.

Ael's smile got, if that was possible, even wider. "Yes I am." She reached across the table and took his hands in hers. "You're going to be a father."she announced.

Before Sharek could do anything Mysty appeared between the two, "Oh Boy Children!"

Ael jumped a little. She should have been expecting Mysty...but she hadn't been. "Hi Mysty."she grinned. "I take it you heard?"

Mysty smiled, "I always hear, I'm the bloody ship."

Sharek looked at Mysty, "Watch it Mysty, or we'll stick you with nanny duty."

"Of course she gets to watch the babies." Ael spoke up. Sharek gave her a shocked look. "Oh yeah." She blushed. "There are two."

"Um... I got to go... um... building something." and with that Mysty was gone again.

"I think that was the quickest I ever saw her leave." Sharek said then quickly looked back at Ael, "There are two? I know the ship can chart pregnancies in advance now but I never knew how soon."

"Remember your technology is much farther advanced than I am used to."Ael reminded him."Yes, there are definitely two babies."

Sharek looked around the room, "Well we are definitely going to need bigger quarters."

"We have nine more months" Ael reminded him with a smile.

Sharek got up and moved a chair next to Ael before sitting down again, "To think Humans complain over 9 month pregnancies. To bad it isn't possible to let them experience a Vulcan pregnancy."

Ael smiled and took his hand in hers. "I'm sure I'll be ready for them to be born a long time before they are ready."she laughed.

"Well, I guess we'll have to plan for children on this ship soon than I thought." Sharek said. "I guess my news can't compare to yours."

Ael smiled. "I still want to hear it."she told him. She was thinking of names now.

Sharek was silent for a second, "We are going back into action. The Mystic is still under staffed, but morale is low and the Omega Incident put some life into the crew; so I am having us track down equipment, data, supplies, and ships we can use."

Ael squeezed his hand. "Good. We need to get busy again."

"Alana,… for a name I mean. If we have a girl I want to name her Alana. I'm told it was my mother's name." Sharek said going completely off subject.

"Alana" repeated Ael. "That's a beautiful name. What do you think of Talon for a boy?"

Sharek smiled, "Talon is a great name. If we have two of one or the other we can think of more names then; I mean this ship should be able to tell sex in another month or two."

Ael grinned and slipped her arm around him. "I'm sure Mysty will tell me," she remarked. "I can't believe I'm going to be a mom."

Sharek held Ael tight, "Big change from where you were a little over a month ago huh?"

"Great big change, and all for the good."she said. "Only Starfleet even cares or knows that I am not there, and I'm only one person they lost that terrible day," she said calmly as if it meant little to her, and indeed it did.

Sharek, "You shouldn't shrug off your old life so easily, everything you went through there made you who you are today and brought you to me."

"And for that I am glad. But there is nothing and no one there I would willingly return to."

Sharek poured the Romulan Ale back into the bottle and corked it, "Well we'll save this for after your pregnancy is finished. For now lets get something from the replicator to drink and have dinner."

Ael smiled as she reminded him, "Well you can still drink."

Sharek moved back to his side of the table, "That's okay, I can wait. I guess this means we have to get married even sooner. Anton said the wedding clothes will be done in the next few days."

Ael grinned. "Well, just think....the wedding holos will also be our first holos of the whole family."

Sharek laughed, "Then we will have to get a picture with Mysty. Maybe even one with the entire Senior and Junior staff officers... its not like there are that many of us yet."

"We won't even need a special holocam," Ael teased. "There are so few of us it's pitiful."

Sharek smiled, "Actually since the ship is equipped with holosensors we can have Mysty set them to record and save everything start to finish as a holoprogram."

"I like that idea!" Ael said brightly. "That would be so cool."

Sharek, "Think of it we will be able to sit through our own wedding with our kids."

Ael grinned widely. "Not many people can say that."

Neither of them said much while they ate, but when they finished Sharek picked up Ael and carried her to the bed.

Ael wrapped her arms tight around him. "I love you with all my heart, Sharek Tekon."she said softly.

"And I love you with all my heart, Ael Tr'Radiak." Sharek said as he pulled her tight to him.

"Dinner Date Part 1"

Stardate:50401.20

Renee gave the dress a little tug to straighten it out. It was her favorite. Jade green shimmersilk, and not a lot of it. She grinned at her reflection.

Anton arrived at Renee's quarters.  He was dressed in his finest of clothes,  a pair of stylish black bondage pants and his finest black silk shirt with the nice sterling silver skull buttons.  Anton rang the doorchime.

Renee answered the door. "Hi there handsome."she smiled.

Anton, "Good evening, madame.  You are looking fabulous as usual.  I have made special arrangements for our dinner plans."

Renee smiled. "Good. This is all so new. We didn't have time for stuff like this."she tried to explain. "There was too much to be done just to survive"

Anton, "You are very correct.  Now that everything is stable with the ship we can get back to the finer things in life.  I hope that you are not disappointed with my style of dress, this is what I consider one of my of my finer outfits."

Renee smiled "No. I like it. I hope you like the dress."

Anton, "Very much so.  You look absolutley elegant.  Are you ready to go?"

     Renee said."Yes I am."

Anton took Renee's arm and started walking down the hall.

Renee was happier than she could remember being. She smiled again. "This is so nice."

"It gets better." Anton stopped in the middle of the hallway.  The two of them started to dematerialize and were teleported to what looked like a ancient greek buffet hall.  There was the finest foods on long tables to either side of the room.  In the middle stood a elaboratley decorated table and chairs with candles shining light on it.  The entire room was elabolrate with great crystal chandaliers.  In front of the two stood a three servants that would follow any order given to them.  "What do you think? Better?"

Renee was stunned. She looked around her, her eyes wide. "This is amazing."

What looked to be the head servant stepped forward, "Lord Tobias, Lady Daniels, this way to your table please."  Anton led Renee to her seat and pulled her chair out for her.

Renee smiled up at him. "Thank you." And then she sat down. "This is perfect, just perfect."

Anton pushed her in slightly and sat down across from her.  "It's not perfect, just good.  So i guess you like it.  It took a bit for me to get all this set up."  The servant came up, "Lady Daniels, shall I pour you a glass of a surperior red wine from the twenty-first century?"

Renee smiled slightly. "Yes please." She took a sip of the wine and sighed happily. "That is so much better than the rat poison we could get."

Anton, "So what exactly were you expecting?"

"Well, I'd never have imagined this."She shrugged. "I thought the mess hall was as good as it got."

Anton chuckled, "There is always better.  So why don't you tell me a little about yourself.  Maybe how life was in the future before you came to be part of this god forsaken ship."

"It was a miracle to have survived to this point."Renee said. "It's truly an awful place."She looked haunted.

Anton, "Interesting.  Surprising really.  The captain has spoke of his time before yours when there was a great peace amongst the diffrent factions.  Still, why worry about things that we can always change or escape.  My time was interesting.  You have probably read about it at some point in your life, you know, peace amongst the federation, battling the borg, all that ~history~ you might say.  I learned how to hack systems to further explain why the federation does the things it does, plus I had nothing better to do."

Renee smiled "Well i think I like your history better than mine, but I'd rather not talk about it."

Anton, "Really, was it THAT bad?"

"Yes."she said shortly. Renee looked him in the eyes. "I gave orders and children died."

The server comes and sets several plates in front of them.  Anton, "Looks like dinner is served.  This is the finest foods I could get.  It should be rather good.  I hope you enjoy it."  Anton got quiet and looked down to his plate.  He felt that conversation had went from good to bad rather quickly.

Renee smiled in appreciation. "This is nice. I'm sorry. But I hate thinking about some things."

Anton spoke as he looked down, "That's alright."  Anton stayed silent after that, slowly picking at and eating his food.

"Hey." She reached over and patted his arm. "It's over, done."

Anton took a deep breath and looked up, giving a somewhat fake looking smile to Renee.  "Well then, um..."

Renee smiled. "I'm happy to be here with you, now."

Anton continued to slowly eat, not making any kind of attempt to speak.

Renee ducked her head and pushed her food around, not eating any of it.

Anton, "Well then, this seems like an accomplishment doesn't it."
