| The Main Shuttlebay is located onDeck 7, but the Shuttle Observation Deck 6 on Deck 8 Shuttle chraft maintance and the Shuttle Service Bay on Deck 9. The shuttle repair and storage areas are also housed on Deck 15. There is the secondary shuttlebay in the aft section of each of the secondary hulls. From these bays, auxiliary spacecraft operations are performed. |

When in use and under normal operating conditions, the Main Shuttlebay doors are open, with atmospheric integrity maintained by an annular forcefield, which allow craft to enter and leave the bay without depressurization. Launch and approach maneuvers are managed by the Flight Operations Officer, supervised by the Bridge Operations Officer. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The La Fayette can support up to 22 auxiliary spacecraft. These craft serve a variety of functions. They can be used when the transporters in not operational, scientific missions, and sometimes, in combat. |
