She had succeeded in school and had skipped a few years because of that, so she was quite young when joining the Academy. She still misses his brother greatly and she probably got her inspiration for weaponery from him for he used to tell her stories about his adventures and his studies which were later tragically interrupted. It was his brother's idea originally to get her to the Starfleet. After his death she intended to abandon the Academy, but luckily she didn't. 'No surrender', had Míceál always said, and still to this day that war cry remains as her guideline.
From then on she has worked hard and studied both foreign cultures and the art of war. Many people often think that her interest in war comes from her father and that might well be true. Still she more often seeks peaceful solutions to arguments and during her years in the Academy she was known as the pacifist and conciliator. She graduated with a major in weapons.
She enjoys spending time alone and often she's considered to be a 'lonely wolf' but that does not mean that she does not enjoy company. She loves challenges and danger but is very fond of getting to know foreign cultures and, in fact, when she was a child, she wanted to become an anthropologist. Starfleet got the best of her but everytime she's not at work, she opens a book and dwells into the ancient mysteries or today's little wonders, both scientifical and philosophical.
Never argue with her about Klingon traditions, she still has Klingon blood in her veins. And never argue about the Irish situation with her either if you want to avoid a lecture. She may be rash and stubborn sometimes, but she's changed a lot since her childhood. She's grown up to be a soldier like his brother and father; usually she doesn't complain and her state of health is good. If she has bad days, then you'd better be careful.
Her father's betleH hangs on the wall of her quarters and she trains often. Alongside the betleH hangs her brother's AR-10 which is one of the few memories she still carries with her. Though she has her father's arrogance, she also has her mother's calm Celtic wisdom and that balances her nature.
