Ariane was born on Earth in a small town called Glastonbury in what used to be called England. Her mother and father are both dead, they had Arianne late in life, and died after long and happy lives. She has no brothers or sisters and no close family that she knows.
She attended Star Fleet Academy, and passed her courses with good grades, excelling in Counselling. Arianne has served on a few ships since then, gaining experience to prepare her for her first post as Counsellor rather than assistant counsellor. She's looking forward to her first post.
Her parents encouraged her to be independent and self-reliant, and in this they have succeeded. Arianne likes time and space to herself, which is when she recharges her emotional batteries that have become drained through her work. She does this through reading, meditating, cooking real food in the 'old fashioned way', swimming. She likes to spend time in 'role playing games' in the holodeck, set in mythically romantic time periods where dragons, wizards, elves and other creatures existed and treasure was to be found, evil to be defeated, and knights in shining armour were real and able to sweep damsels in distress off their feet.
As a person Arianne has the qualities of a good listener, people instinctively trust her and open up to her, her manner can be quiet, calming, soothing. At other times she's a real 'live-wire', with a keen sense of humour and a love of fooling around. She will always treat people with respect, no matter how objectionable they are being. She believes that what you give is what you get, and, so long as it's not breaking rules or causing harm, she will help anyone out if possible.
