Science: Valerie Chubb reported that there was nothing new to report.
Operations: Renee Klosterman brought Medical Kit for our Medical Officer.
Medical: Linwood Small will have draft of our medical form at the Social.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

T-Shirt Committee: Captain Rogers reported that he got in touch with Roy Jackson who will be making them.  Cost for shirts will be around $20 + shipping & handling, Plus sizes (2X or larger) will probably be a few dollars more.  Captain Frank Rogers will let us know more about this at our next meeting.

Fair Committee:   Captain Rogers expects to receive the forms for the Okaloosa  County Fair next week.  The booths are 10 x 10, he will check on electrical outlet availability.  The cost for this 9 day fair will be $200.00 and it is in October.  Joe Campbell is still working on our banner, we hope to have it done by then.  Captain Rogers wanted to discuss what we should do at this fair.  Valerie Chubb suggested her class do a Star Trek commercial that we could show of Starbase and Tranquility crew working together.  She also suggested we show some Star Trek movies.  Our main purpose for this event will be to obtain new members and get the word out about what we do in the community.

CPR Committee:   Linwood Small contacted Lt. Sherman at Ocean City Fire Department, but he hasn’t returned his call.

Recycling Committee:   Dennis Creamer asked that we bring the drink tabs we’ve been collecting to our next meeting, Captain Rogers will bring a container to put them in.  Dennis asked if we had set up a bank account yet and Captain Rogers told him not yet.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

April 16 Social:   This will be at Commodore Chris Brinkman’s house in Shalimar.  Captain Rogers will email a map to everyone.  Time will be at 1300 hours. After some discussion it was suggested that we not drink alcohol until after 1600 hours.  A motion to this affect was made by Valerie Chubb and seconded by Renee Klosterman, approved unanimously.

Everyone who can should bring tables and chairs.  Emily Burke passed around a sign up sheet for food and other things to bring.  This will be an outdoor event.  Also everyone needs to bring their own drinks.

Mardi Gras:   Linwood Small reported that he had no new information on this.

Yard Sale/Car Wash:   Captain Rogers checked on the liability issue raised at the last meeting about having a car wash.  He checked with Admiral Eller and he said that the liability rests with the property owners.  Emily Burke made the motion, and Renee Klosterman seconded it to have the Yard Sale in June at Choctaw High School from 0700 to 1200 hours.  Motion approved unanimously.  Valerie Chubb will check with the High School to make sure this is alright.  The date chosen would be June 11, if approved by school.

Earth Day:   Valerie Chubb reported that April 23 is Earth Day and that there are various things we could do for this.  After some discussion it was decided that Valerie Chubb was going to work on the Destin Harbor project, and Cindy Burke, Emily Burke and Renee Klosterman will work on the Beasley Park project.  Captain Rogers asked that someone take a camera to these events for publicity photos.

Pop Top Collections:   Captain Rogers reported that the Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola has a Ronald McDonald House on their site.  These tops help provide funds to run the House.  Captain Rogers would like as many of us who can to go with him when he presents these to the hospital.  They will take a picture of us for the paper.  Linwood Small, Clenton McClure, Chris Brinkman, and Valerie Chubb will try to go with Captain Rogers for this event.  Date to be decided later.

Adopt a Highway: Dennis Creamer reported that this is usually a 2 mile stretch of State highway that we contract to keep clean.  We must clean it at least 4 times a year.  All we supply is people and transportation to the site, the DOT provides everything else.  After some discussion, Renee Klosterman volunteered to go to the DOT office in DeFuniak (since she lives there) and check on this for our next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:

Captain Rogers asked if we would be interested in washing planes at the Air Force Museum on Eglin.  He stated that the Endeavor or Reliant crews have been doing this for some time and it is great publicity.  After some discussion, Captain Rogers said he would check to see if this was feasible and get back to us later.

Habitat for Humanity: Since Linda Bolen, Chief of Communications, was not present at this meeting, this will be tabled till next meeting.

Test Scores: Captain Rogers has been checking on this but has not been able to get any information, he will keep checking.  It appears that Starbase 4 region is cut off from Starfleet.

Monthly Meeting Reports: Captain Rogers wanted to know if we were interested in doing our Monthly reports as we would if we were actually Starfleet crew members.  He said this was only a suggestion.  Several people thought this might be a good idea and would try it for the next meeting.

Interplanetary Alliance: Captain Rogers passed out a letter from Vice Admiral Cecil Davis, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Interplanetary Alliance.  This letter invites our ship to join this Alliance in the hopes of strengthening the position of both of our organizations.  The Alliance has 65 members so far, does not require any testing to join, and will not require more work from most of our crew to join.  After some discussion it was decided to table this decision till the next meeting. (Copy of letter attached.)

Starbase Trivia Contest: Linwood Small asked Chris Brinkman if he would be interested in working on this project.  Chris agreed and they will discuss this further and report back to us.

May 13, 2005 Meeting: Valerie Chubb and Renee Klosterman asked to be excused from this meeting because it is the final season episode of Enterprise.  Shore Leave was granted for them; meeting will still be held as scheduled.
