The USS Edison is currently assigned to the Seventh Expeditionary Group operating out of Starbase 720 close to the former Romulan Neutral Zone. The bulk of her missions involve scientific discovery, although at times the Edison has been called to perform such diverse missions as rendering humanitarian aide (coordination on a planetary scale), sector patrol, or simple escort duties.
No matter what the mission, it is a safe bet that adventure is not far from this galant crew.
