The Raider design was created in the 2334-2345. The ships were designed by the Trabe to function as mid-sized patrols. A total of 3300- 4000 ships were commissioned by the Trabe to protect their territory. In the Kazon revolt, 2/3 of these ships were taken over by the Kazon.These ships have increible advantage over the Predator design, these smaller ships were converted to destroyers and warships. These ships were outfitted with the latest phaser and torpedo technology. Also, the warp speeds of these ships was much more efficent than the older and larger Predators. This raider design also provides its owners with more efficent sublight speeds and has revealed itself to be more manoueverable and reliable. The Raider is a highly maneuverable ship, which has probably been adapted for interstellar battle by the Kazon. Though a single Raider does not present a significant threat to larger, well-defended ships, a group of Raiders have enough weaponry between them to eventually inflict significant damage on a vessel such as the U.S.S. Voyager
