expected to show strength and leadership when in his heart, he is deeply aware of the burdens that command can sometimes place on his shoulders. His interaction with his crew and his command style is unusually "in the trenches". he prefers to lead by example. While he maintains a comfortable distance from the majority of the crew in regards to his personal life, he covets a good working friendship and camaraderie with his command staff. He knows when to take command, but he also realizes that all his officers know their duty and can execute them properly with hardly a word from him. At the same time, unlike many Commanding Officers, Baeliyol improves of initiative. If someone has a better idea, he prefers that they speak up. He realizes that the ultimate decision is his own, but encourages suggestions.
