STATS James Moriarty is the epitome of an English gentleman of the late 19th century. He maintains his anachronistic manners, dress and, in many ways, outlook on life. He is always dressed in a black gentleman's frock coat or elaborate silk dressing gown. He is also never without his trusty gold pocketwatch and is often seen carrying a PADD or traditional pen and paper. Moriarty is no longer the archvillian that one might read about in a mini-novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. While he maintains his extremely shrewd, calculating and coldly logical exterior, he has grown to be much more. As any English gentleman would be, he is polite, direct, attentive and civalrous towards women [especially his wife] and perhaps a touch pompous. Moriarty is capable of great affection and friendship to those that "fit his paradigm". |

Working as an Analyst and Research Agent for the Southern Cross gives Moriarty a great deal of pleasure. However, his primary hobbies are fencing, mathematics, science and spending time with his darling wife, The Countess. Moriarty prefers his friends to be as logical and shrewd as he is, for he loves to play games of logic and deduction with them. To this end, he finds Vulcans to be quite refreshing. Currently, Moriarty is familiarizing himself with more technology and theories of the 24th century. He considers himself to be an explorer. As a fairly typical English gentleman of his era, Moriarty prefers a certain degree of formality to his guests and those that do not possess the ability to act in such a way usually annoy him. He doesn't enjoy people who do not think, are impulsive or imprudent and generally dislikes anyone who would use violence in a way that is not precise and exacting. Moriarty has disabled the command pathways that make him loathe the law and Sherlock Holmes specifically. |
