Education: Before Starfleet Academy, the only education he had came from his mentors. This education was heavily geared towards combat and training his natural psychic talents, but he did learn a great deal about different species, history, mathematics and languages.
Service Record/Career History: He spent four years at Starfleet Academy, where he augmented what education he had in general academics, as well as brushing up on his physical and psychic training. Chulainn also received extensive training in the Hazard division of the Academy, where he excelled. He entered the Academy on September 9th, 2374 and graduated June 2nd, 2379. He was assigned to the U.S.S. Nemo on July 27th, 2379, where he served until December 6th, 2379, having been transferred to another vessel, the Southern Cross.
Promotion History: None.
Commendations: None.
Personal History: Once in a great while, an albino Eridanian is born. This is an Eridanian with gray eyes, hair and skin, but more importantly, they have a great possibility for psionic abilities. At four years of age, they are sent to live with a mentor who instructs them in the ways of combat and their special powers. At the age of sixteen, they have the option of going through a ritual blinding. Should they choose to do so, their psychic powers reach their maximum potential and they become known as Divine Centurions, whose duty is to use their formidable combat and psionic talents to protect the general populace and go crusading to stamp out corruption and evil. Setanta is one of these albinos. He went through the training and, when the time came, accepted the ritual blinding with pride. Though he would have preferred to stay on Haven, his mentor suggested that he explore the rest of the galaxy and help carry on the code of the Divine Centurions. Setanta was reluctant to do so at first, but after a few weeks at Starfleet he realized how well he fit in. True, he didn’t fit in socially, but he found that the strict disciplinary structure of the academy fit well with the outlook on life he had come to adopt from his years in training. He looks forward to being assigned to a starship so he may continue expanding his horizons and perhaps make a difference in the galaxy.
Medical/Psychology Report: Setanta is in superb physical condition for someone of his size and age. His main physical drawback, however, is his blindness. However, as I understand, it’s a ritualistic thing for a Divine Centurion, and he’s actually quite proud of it. Nonetheless, Starfleet Code wouldn’t allow him to be in Tactics with that huge weakness, so I had to give him implants that allows a picture to be projected into his brain of the goings-on around him. He keeps them off whenever he’s not on duty, however, for he claims that if he leaves them on for too long he might lose his psychic abilities. In fact, he seems to prefer them off. Despite his blindness, he has a great amount of strength, agility and endurance, and is in excellent health. His rigid psychological state evidences how he was able to obtain this level of physical skill. He possesses an amazing amount of discipline, up to the point of obsessing over laws, rules and regulations. He tends to be very withdrawn, antisocial and quiet. He only enters verbal conversations when necessary, almost as if he’s afraid of the sound of his own voice or afraid he’ll say too much. Not an entirely unusual trait to find amongst Divine Centurions, I’m told. He could stand to loosen up a bit; this sort of discipline and introversion tends to cause nervous breakdowns over extended periods. Other than that, he’s very obedient and trustworthy and I foresee no real problems.
