Tiburonese
The Tiburons, while their homeworld is some distance from the Argolis Reach, have traveled to the area in search of adventure and spiritual discovery. Most travel here from the Denobula Triax-Tiburon Trade Route, which ends at Deep Space Five. Seen as "Hedonistic" by many other people's standards, the Tiburons are actually quite socially responsible and the Tiburonese that flood this region are seeking to break away from traditional Federation ideals and find new and wonderous possibilities. Tiburons are natural social scientists and artists, but many also follow a tradition which can be closely identified as "Bards."
Alezian
The Alezian Federation is one of the newest members of the United Federation of Planets, having joined in the closing days of the Dominion War and ensuing Breen Incidents. They are characterized by their fur-like hair, scaly yellow-tan skin and piercing green or blue eyes. They are abnormally perceptive and logical, but have poor constitution and strength. They tend to be quite frail in limb, especially since their world is only .7 gravity. Alezian culture values technology and thus, Alezians are often excellent engineers. They are also one of the very few Federation species that embrace cyberneticism.
Napean
Napeans are characterized by putty-colored skin and a leaf-shaped ridging on the forehead. Their culture had empathic powers forced upon them by a genetic virus used to stop a massive world war. Most Napeans find their powers rather annoying, especially when they are subjected to powerful emotions. In such an event, Napeans "shed" their emotions and bleed them onto any other empath or telepath. Aside from their powers, Napeans have surprising diveristy in personality and vocation.
Ullian
Ullians are characterized by powerful image telepathy and a very friendly, jovial nature. Many Ullians are involved with "Psychohistory," the piecing together of the past using telepathy to connect and revive memories. Although the Ullians are a nonviolent people, there have been incidents, in the past, of telepathic rape. The Ullians testify that such events are exceptionally rare.

Arkenite
Arkenites share their world with the non-humanoid cetacean race known as "H'kwee." Their world is primarily ocean with large polar ice caps. Only a few sparse islands and one Greenland-sized continent exist.
The Arkenites and H'kwee don't contact each other very often, especially since the Arkenites are more akin to live on shallow reefs and on land, whereas the H'kwee are exclusive to the deep ocean. The H'kwee are deceptively advanced, however. Their level of technology is unknown to the Arkenites.
The Arkenites themselves are in the process of "evolving" into a land-based organism. They must wear an "anlac'ven" to counteract their feelings of vertigo and to supplement their poor vision. Arkenites use an incredible parabolic hearing sense similar to sonar.
Most Arkenites excel in the sciences, music or become traders of exotic deep sea plantlife.
Ko'bai
Standing at just a touch above two meters tall on average, and often exceeding 2.5 meters, the Ko'bai are nothing if not intimidating. These people are a paradoxical combination of tranquil and relentlessly violent, for they possess a truly terriying temper at seems to incite all Ko'bai around them to the same feeling. The Ko'bai are usually traders and move from place to place in gigantic garden ships. They possess a group mentality, very much like a herd. The more Ko'bai there are, the more assertive their position will be and the more bold their actions. Individual Ko'bai can operate normally, but tend to be somewhat skittish and noncommittal. Because of this, they almost always travel in groups of at least five. Most are found in Argolis space trading and gathering botanical samples from other worlds. They are technically a member of the Nybarite Alliance.
Arkarian
Arkarians have a long history of piracy amongst their people, coupled with an unusual skill at engineering. In truth, these skills developed symbiotically. Pirates raided, Engineers tried to build a better mouse trap, the Pirates adapted and so on. Because of this, Arkaria is not a unified world. Some Arkarian nationals willing let the Federation use their baryon decontamination arrays and will trade with the UFP. Other groups have allied themselves to the likes of the Orion Syndicate. Arkaria itself is a foothold into the region for the Syndicate.
Pynerri
Pynerri are considered a very "desirable" species, and are quite often found aboard the various entertainment ships, in clubs and within the bars in the region. Pynerri are well-known for having color-changing skin (its a sea green when not being stimulated) that becomes prismatic, depending on the type of emotion. They are also "emotional vampires" and feed upon the raw seething emotions that their performances bring out. In times past this has led to "stalking" and feeding on the fear that it entails, but nowadays, such actions are fairly rare. Pynerri are powerful empaths and psychometrists (can sense psychic traces on objects). Pynerri are seen as rather liberal and uninhibited, for they so dearly love excess.
Over the last few years, the Pynerri Hegemony has had a massive overpopulation and resource problem which has caused a few of its colonies to break away. As a result, the Pynerri are engaged in a bloody civil war.
Orion
While the Orions are not originally native to this region, it seems, in times past, that one of the many Orion Empires did stretch to the fringes of the Argolis Reach. Despite the fact that many of these links have faded, one link to this culture still very much exists- the Orion Syndicate.
The Syndicate has members amongst the Arkarian population, as well as "secret partners" within the otherwise legitimate Nybarite Alliance. It is said that the Orion Syndicate has a secret institute somewhere in this space that trains its various mercenaries and thugs; this rumor is unconfirmed, however. Not all Orions who enter the Reach are of the Syndicate, either- some are perfectly legitimate settlers and traders.
Corvallen
The Corvallen's are often viewed as mercenaries, thugs and traders within the Reach, although their homeworld is a fair distance from the Reach itself. It is likely that this independent species sees the Reach as a place to expand. The Corvallens are often accused of having sympathetic ties to the Romulans, but scarce few have actually been seen in Corvallen company. Conversely, the Romulan Star Empire see the Corvallens as a Federation puppet. Both sides deal with the Corvallens in a "neutral" fashion- never entirely trusting them.
Mygthian a.k.a. "Skulltrunks"
Widely renowned as one of three "Founder Races" to the Nybarite Alliance, the Skulltrunks can be found throughout known space, hawking wares and services for some latinum. Skulltrunks are also incredibly adept contortionists and acrobats. Their unique physiology is more cartilidge than bone, which makes them harder to hurt and very flexible. In personality, Skulltrunks are pretty friendly and amiable, and are very keenly attuned to their senses. They aren't exactly fighters, however, and can be "spineless" when it comes to direct physical confrontation.
"Children of Tama"
The Children of Tama, despite both sides best efforts, still remain a neutral and misunderstood species. Despite the best efforts of Captain Picard and Captain Dathon, the UFP and the Children of Tama have difficulty communicating. The Tamarian metaphorical language is extremely diverse and seems to include the mythologies of several hundred worlds! The UFP has tried to use Bajoran, Andorian, Vulcan and Human mythologies to respond, but it doesn't seem to work. This seems very distressing to both sides, as both realize that the other could be a very lucrative trade partner and even military ally. The Children of Tama seem to possess the same love of learning and openness of ideas that the Federation possesses. However, on a couple of occasions, slips in communications or cultural missteps have led to shots being fired. In all cases, one side shot, the other may have retaliated, but very quickly, both sides tend to retreat. It seems that the Tamarians have as little taste for conflict as the Federation.
Kobliad
The Kobliad race is actually light years away, closest to the Bajoran and Cardassian sectors. However, several years ago, several worlds discovered the raw materials for creating deuridium, a medicine which is essential to maintaining Kobliad genetic structure. As a result, there has been a flood of Kobliads into the region who seek the drug. The Orion Syndicate has seized and fenced an enormous amount of the drug as well. Some Kobliads have come to steal the drug to prolong their own lives, so raids on Deuridium carrying vessels are commonplace. because the Syndicate promises regular treatments to Kobliads "loyal" to the Orions, many have joined that crime rings ranks.
Takaran
The Takarans are a mystery to the UFP. Seen mostly as "imperialistic explorers" in recent years, the Takarans exhibit a form of ruthless scientific advancement. Research and development seems to be of paramount importance to the Takarans, often leading them to piracy, sabotage and even outright murder. Yet despite this, the rare Takaran that comes aboard a Federation ship is usually remarked at being polite, extremely educated and possessed of a great desire to work together.
Very little is known about the Takarans, who do not share much about their culture. SI has discovered that the Takaran government is very interested in expanding its influence and space through technological domination. It is unclear if this species poses a threat to the Federation and thus, it is labeled as neutral for now.
Tilonus
The Tilonus are remarked at having an extremely secretive, ultra-conservative and slightly xenophobic personality. Only a few years ago, the Federation considered the Tilonus to be in fairly good standing, but now, after a recent regime change, as dangerous but not yet an out and out threat. The Tilonus seem to be biding their time, building up information on their neighbors. Tilonus agents seem quite fond of kidnapping members of alien militaries and subjecting them to hallucinogenic and psychic tortures to extract the data that they desire. These "sessions" often leave the victim either mentally scarred or programmed as a Tilonus agent.
Zibalian
The Zibalians are primarily merchants and traders of exotic and rare goods. Many profess to being "collectors of rare antiquities" as well, either as legitimate buyers or as thieves. Zibalians are known for being direct, brutally honest and, in some cases, critical. Married to these personality quirks is a somewhat flippant attitude and a generally arrogant air. Zibalians are only humble and courteous to those that deem are superior.

Sheliak Corporate
The Sheliak and the Federation have normalized their relationship through the Treaty of Armens. This, however, does not stop the Sheliak from abused, using and hurting Humanoids. The Sheliak see Humanoids and most other aliens as fodder at best and bugs at worst. They do not recognize the right of such "things" to exist. Despite their superior technology, the Sheliak domain, called the Sheliak Corporate, is very small- a mere handful of systems.
When dealing with Sheliak, expect to be treated with a smothering amount of arrogance, as if you were being spoken to if you were an insect. The Sheliak do not negotiate- the pontificate from a position of strength, usually by quoting the Treaty of Armens.
Miradorn
The Miradorn seem content with a life of terrorizing those they perceive as weaker than they. Most Miradorn are mercenaries, raiders or assassins, many of which work for various pirate fleets and the Orion Syndicate. Many Miradorns possess an identical twin. The bond between these two is so close that it is as if they are one person.
Miradorn vessels are very difficult to detect because they employ an energy sheathing system that renders it invisble on long range sensors.
Breen
The Breen are as enigmatic as they were before the Dominion War. After the Dominion surrender, the Breen continued to raid Klingon and Federation borders for some months afterward. It was only after a concerted effort between both powers that the Breen were forced to back down.
The Breen Homeworld, although never seen, is not believed to be in the Reach. Instead, the Breen seem to be interested in raiding and expanding into the Reach itself. Sooner or later, this will bring the Breen back into conflict with the Federation. Until then, the Breen, who engage in commerce as much as piracy, are uncommon but not unknown to the Argolis Reach.
