Pictures from
Crabtree Creek Greenway

Crabtree Creek goes through a large section of Raleigh. The greenway along the creek is paved. It's great for bicycling and jogging, and not bad for an urban hike either. The Crabtree Creek Greenway presently runs from behind Crabtree Valley Mall through to some residential neighborhoods just inside the beltline.
The signage isn't always this good. Sometimes it's lacking.
This is my hiking partner Theresa along the Crabtree Creek Greenway Trail. To her right is one of the raised sewer manholes along the trail. It sounds gross, but one reason the city had the property along the creek was to run the pipeline.

There are several bridges along the greenway. Here's a picture of me on one of them.
Being in an urban area, the water isn't very clear. There are fish in the creeks though.
