I.S.S. SEVERNAYA - En Route to Daekhra, in the LCP (15 March 2503): The trial the people have been waiting for is about to begin on the Commonwealth world of Daekhra, where it all started....presumably.
General Daniel James Longstreet, along with a brigadier general and two colonels of the Imperial Army, as well as a senior captain in the Imperial Navy, are being tried by the planetary courts on Daekhra, then by the Commonwealth courts on the same planet, and finally in the Commonwealth Supreme Court on L'nhraei.
There are rumors that Reydovan Emperor Kiran Joshmaul III may be tried as well, but those rumors cannot be confirmed or denied.
Longstreet is linked to the assassinations of Reydovan Chancellor Jeremiah Neill and his wife, Sarah Underwood-Neill. Neill's eldest son, Captain First Rank Ross Joseph Neill of the R.S.S. Vengeance, as well as Captain Second Rank Richard Harper, the executive officer, were killed by Captain First Rank Charles Tomwood of the R.S.S. Blackstar, acting on orders from General Longstreet. It has also been revealed that ships acting on Longstreet's orders destroyed the ships commanded by Underwood's two sons during the battle for Reydovan Prime in 2501.
Neill's estate, along with the estate of Joshua Underwood and Richard Harper, brought charges to the Commonwealth courts for crimes committed against them. Dr. Jeremiah Neill, Jr., Chancellor Underwood and the Imperial Congress want Longstreet sentenced to death for his crimes, while the others receive life imprisonment.
