CH'TAALA, L'NHRAEI - Capital of the L'nhraei Commonwealth of Planets (21 December 2502): With the year's end a mere ten days away, Commanding Admiral Joshua Underwood arrived on L'nhraei today to the loud cheering of the populace and the sound of the old Battle Hymn of the Republic, which was written during the American Civil War and now accepted as the Reydovan national anthem.
Underwood, who stepped down as Chancellor less than a month ago following his defeat by now-Chancellor Jeremiah Neill, had written the merger deal between the L'nhraei Commonwealth of Planets and the Reydovan Democratic Republic during the last days of the Imperial uprising and presented it to LCP President John Macpherson a month later. The then-Chancellor was told he could present it to the Commonwealth Parliament on the first Monday of the L'nhraei month of Messidor, which this year is today, December 21, 2502.
The Commanding Admiral is scheduled to address the Commonwealth Parliament today and press the need for peace in the worlds of the Republic, especially with the Edmund Fitzgerald incident, which some sources say may have been treachery, and the Tzenkethi raids on the Occult system. Chancellor Neill is scheduled to address the Republic Congress tomorrow when he returns from his meeting with the Intergalactic Alliance of Powers.
The Republic's official dissolution is scheduled for January 1, 2503.
