Changelog:
(from www.mwiacek.com)
V6.07 17-06-03
- Messaging:
- Improved compound word writing
with predictive text input.
- SMS 7/8 bit sending setting.
Two settings available in the ‘Character support’ menu:
- Full: When the ‘full
character support’ option is selected, the phone will
automatically detect if a short message being typed (or
forwarded) contains any ‘non-ASCII’ characters. If there are
one or more non-ASCII characters inside the text, the SMS
will automatically be sent in Unicode format (as in previous
software release in 3310/3410). In this mode, SMS’s are sent
exactly as they are shown in the editor, and there is no
conversion of characters at all. Note: if the message only
contains characters supported in GSM alphabet, the message
is still sent as 7-bit.
- Reduced: When this setting
is active, the phone will use a table to convert all ‘Latin
based’ characters to a corresponding GSM character. This
means that all European / ‘Latin based’ languages can be
sent as 7-bit characters, however the message will look
different (converted) when received. Characters will be
converted like: ï->i, ρ->P etc.

unicode input active
