At the academy, she specialized in counseling and xenocultural studies. She excelled in both classes. During her time at the Academy, she spent most of her time by herself. This did not prevent her, however, from developing a relationship with a fellow cadet. His name was Zack Kipling, and he was studying to be a Propulsion Engineer. He was also taking Xenocultural Studies. This was for the sole purpose of getting to know the introverted, but quite beautiful, young woman. Were it his choice, he would not have been taking this class, because he was a bit of a xenophobe. This was to prove a problem in the near future. When he found out that she was actually a Risan, not a human, he was spooked from the relationship and it ended in an outburst of his xenophobic attitudes. Graduating from the Academy that year, and burned by the experience, she shipped out at the first opportunity.

That opportunity came in the form of the U.S.S. Helios. She joined the ship in the position of Counselor's Assistant. From the first few weeks her natural skills were obvious to the entire crew. Her quiet, yet enigmatic nature made her easy to talk to. She received a commendation (but not a promotion, yet), and was transferred to the U.S.S. Potomac, where she now serves as Counselor.
