EMH Program
This character is a computer program which supplements the ship's medical staff for short periods when needed. The EMH is confined mainly to sickbay, the holodeck, and a few other areas of the vessel where holo-emitters are present. The EMH is subordinate to the Chief Medical Officer (when present).
An example from Star Trek is the Doctor on Voyager.
This is a specialist position that generally sees a low level of inclusion in most missions. The Patriot currently has no assigned EMH program.
