"Automotive Service Excellence"

  The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) offers a testing and certification program to professional automotive technicians.

  Twice yearly the institute gives a series of written tests which measure diagnostic and repair skills. Upon passing the exam, and providing proof of a minimum of two years of hands-on experience, a professional becomes ASE certified in a particular area, such as Brakes, Automatic Transmissions, Steering, etc. There are eight basic tests and several advanced tests.
  Any professional who is certified in all eight areas is certified as a Master Automotive Technician. Every 5 years, professionals must be retested to remain certified. In order to be certified as a "Blue Seal of Excellence Facility", a company must have 75% of it's professionals certified in at least one area.
  Pacific Motor Service easily meets this
are certified in all eight areas! We also have several Technicians with advanced certifications such as Alternative Fuels and Advanced Computer Control Diagnostics (L1).

"Automotive Service Councils"

click to open   Automotive Service Councils of California is a con-federation of shops commonly bound by an interest in the automotive industry to uphold an improve the high standards and integrity of the profession.

  The Association works to assist the individual member in confronting problems. They assist in the education of members and future technicians. They dedicate themselves, through their own personal obligation, toward future growth and expansion by professional, ethical practice. Through avenues available to them, the Association seeks to correct abuses within the industry.

 

"Automotive Service Association"

in all 50 states and in several foreign countries. As a consumer, you should be aware that the ASA promotes a written Code of Ethics.

ALLDATA is the leading provider of diagnostic, repair and estimating information to the professional automotive service industry. ALLDATA's products and services provide comprehensive diagnostic, repair and estimating information for vehicles from 1982 to present. In addition, Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's) from vehicle manufacturers are listed and updated. Many of these TSB's are not normally available outside the dealership, and provide our shop the ability to notify customers of factory recommended or required repairs of which they might not otherwise be aware.
