The superintendent of the Philippine Military Academy, Maj. Gen. Manuel L. Carranza, Jr. recently announced the conduct of the entrance examination to qualified young men and women to enter this premier military school of the land. The examination will be held on Aug. 26, 2001 in the following 33 designated testing centers all over the country:

  • In order to qualify for the exam, the applicant must meet the following basic requirements: a) natural-born Filipino citizen; b) single and never married; c) with height of at least 162.5 cm (5 ft. 4 in.) For male applicants and 157.5 cm (5 ft 2 in.) for female applicants; d) at least a high school graduate; and e) must be physically fit and of good moral character for military service. PMA offers free college education for four years, pay and allowances while studying, sure employment after graduation and commissionship in the Army, Navy or Air Force.

    Application forms are now available in the different ROTC offices and military units in different areas nationwide. Deadline for the submission of application forms should reach the Office of the Cadet Admission, Philippine Military Academy, Fort del Pilar, Baguio City not later than August 5, 2001. All applicants who will pass the entrance examination will be notified through telegrams and will be asked to report to V. Luna Medical Center in Quezon City for the physical, medical and psychological examinations starting October 2001. An official announcement will also be made through major newspaper dailies.
