Director of Fleet Personnel and Relations

Directive 002.00- Personnel Requests- CO's/DD's - Procedure for requesting an official Leave of Absence.
 
Effective date: 09/17/2004. Until superceded or withdrawn by official order.
 
Purpose: To provide the Division Directors, Captains and IDF Admirality the ability to better handle LOA requests and to allow the DFPR to properly communicate LOA's to the necessary individuals.
 
Authority: Director of Fleet Personnel and Relations- IDF Admirality.
 
Directive:
 
All Commanding Officers, Temporary Commanding Officers, and/or Acting Commanding Officers in addition to all Division Directors will:
 
When any CO/TCO/ACO or DD prepares to request an LOA from duty, he/she will address his/her LOA request to the Division Director for that division. If the Division Director is not available or the Division Director is him/herself requesting an LOA the request must be made to Admiral Griffith, Admiral Hiron, or in the case that neither of the aforementioned are available- Admiral West.
 
After the request has been acknowledged by the appropriate party the receiving party will either notify Admiral Griffith, or him/herself notify the Executive Officer of the impending LOA.
 
Upon return from LOA the CO/TCO/ACO or DD must notify the previously notified person that he/she has officially returned.
 
LOA's, for the purpose of this directive, are defined as follows:  Any period of time from which the requesting individual will not be available or present for participation for any period longer than 48 hours but not less than 36 hours.
 
Any request for LOA that requests in excess of 2 weeks leave, must be approved by the aforementioned Admirality members, and will be contingent upon individual circumstances.
