The Hunterdon Walking and Social Club

Looking to meet the Hunterdon County “over 55” singles in a relaxed and hassle-free environment?  Well, the Hunterdon Walking and Social Club (HWSC) one of Central New Jersey’s best-kept secrets may be just the place.

Founded in 1995 the HWSC meets every Sunday for an afternoon of casual walks and socials.

“It’s really a great way to meet people,” says Peg Marsh, one of HWSC’s founding members.

The Walks…

Walks vary from trails such as different sections of the Delaware Canal Path, the Columbia Trail, the Landsdown Trail to local parks such as Morales Park, Hoffman Park, Heritage Park , Pickell Park, Duke Island, Spruce Run, Round Valley etc. We start at 5:00 PM in the warmer weather, usually at 4:00 PM in the Spring and late Fall and 3:00 PM in the winter. They last about an hour and are generally fairly easy.

The Walks are only half the fun!

After every walk the club meets for a couple of hours of social time at any number of restaurants in the County.

On occasion, the HWSC will gather at a member’s home instead of a restaurant after a walk with a party for which an RSVP is required.

There’s even more…

In the summer, we often walk at Duke Island Park and after a picnic dinner stay for the free Sunday concerts. Thursday nights it’s concerts at Deer Path Park.

No Dues, No Hassles, just FUN!!!

So, if you’re looking to meet the “over 55” singles of Hunterdon County, grab your walking shoes and meet us at our next walk.  The only other thing you need to have is a smile.

Once you come on a walk, simply give your email address to the member in charge and you will soon receive the detailed unabridged schedule.
