Temporal Chaos

(working title)

by: Helen J. Lake

Prologue

Time was in chaos. It was swirling, the past of one planet meeting the annihilation of another, the forming of an asteroid belt meeting its own destruction, and in one universe, a woman was watching it all.

“All of this…caused by one man,” she commented to her companion. She crossed her arms across her chest as another planet flew apart. “Sometimes, I hate my job.”

The man chuckled. “Liar,” he rebutted. “You love solving puzzles. And this is the biggest doozy any of us have ever seen.”

“Everyone has to do it at least once.”

“Yeah, I know,” she replied, shrugging. “This should be fun.”

Jane studied the images before her. Lyn Pahr, originally known as Lynpahr of Culzarak, stood regally beside a dark and solemn Vulcan man. The timeline was twisted and circled back upon itself.

I wonder if anyone else has figured this out…She shook herself. Of course they had, they were the experts. So they gave it to me, because they know what will happen once the timeline is repaired. She looked out the window, angst written on her face.

            I will cease to exist…
