The entire week leading up to the Dayton Celtic Festival, I was in a good mood. No, make that a great mood. And nothing could ruin it for me—not a nasty customer at work, not getting lectured by a drunk woman, and certainly not the threat of rain. By the time Friday rolled around, I was ecstatic. Not only was it payday (thank God! LOL) and the first day of my vacation, but it was the first day of the Festival. My sisters were coming with me that night—Carmen, Bethany, oh and Carmen’s friend John.
In preparation for the weekend, I had bought some Old Dan Tucker Whiskey, 6 years old. Why did Helen buy booze like that? Why, to put into my handy-dandy Gaelic Storm flask! Just in case the boys got thirsty, ya know. *wink* I was also armed with my camera (120 mm zoom), and Daddy’s digital camera. For the girls, I had a disposable camera for them to share, my treat. I had made a special gift for Bob (see below) and I had a poster from Dayton’s History of Flight, and a can cozy that said "Reality is the leading cause of stress". Oh, and to top it all off, I looked pretty cute. *G*
The entire weekend was way too much fun!! I made some friends, had GREAT seats, got kissed (now you HAVE to read to see who and when!! LOL), and had the opportunity to bond with Bob a bit more. All I can say is WHEW!!!
Out of all of the Gaelic Storm shows, I have but one complaint: they seemed to play the same songs each night, with just a small amount of variation. Now, I don't mind, I love all of their songs, and each performance was awesome!!! But at the same time, I missed hearing "Go Home, Girl" and "Before the Night is Over". Then again, I DID get to hear "Punjab Paddy" and "Tear Upon the Rose". Maybe it evens out. LOL
