SPECIES: KAZON
 
 

The Kazon race are one of the most violent and hostile races in the Delta quadrant. They are divided into violent factions called sects.  There are seven sects which include the Ogla, the Nistrim, the Oglamar, the Pomar, the Relora, the  Hobii, and the Mostral.  The Kazon where first discovered by the Starship Voyager on its return journey from the Delta Quadrant.  Theirs is a male dominated society in which children are initiated into the warrior sects before puberty, while adults survive by a combination of force and treachery.  The Kazon are somewhat taller than the average human, with well sculpted features and great masses of hair.  Generally, no females are seen on Kazon ships and women seem to have very little power or respect in Kazon society.  While history does not excuse the races' continued hostility, it does give some insight into the sect's behavior.  For many years the Kazon were kept in squalor and slavery by the Trabe, a highly advanced species famed for their art and science.  They were especially persecuted by the Trabe police.  The Trabe encouraged the Kazon to fight among themselves, hoping that this will distract them from their real enemy, their Trabe masters.  The Kazon have escaped persecution and domination by a rebellion in 23 45,  lead by Jal Sankar.  When the Kazon finally rose up against the Trabe they had become an angry, violent and merciless force, the Trabe did not stand a chance of surviving.  The Trabe became a displaced people and to this very day the Kazon refuse to allow them to create a new home for themselves.
