Background:

Katrin Youngblood was born to an Orion slave girl named Petra and an unknown human male. Petra was given as a sex slave to many men by the man who owned her and it was impossible to tell who could have impregnated her. It was only after Katrin's birth that it was determined that the man was a human.

Katrin was born on a Federation Starbase where her Petra's owner's ship was docked for repairs. It was a difficult birth and the base's doctor was called to assist. When he realized the situation, he called for Security and Katrin and Petra were freed from the drug smuggler who owned them.

Petra stayed on the base and became a waitress in one of the bars in the marketplace. She was happy to be free and often danced as an attraction for the bar owner. Katrin hated the way her mother behaved and the treatment people gave them as a result. She attended the schools on the base as she grew, but she vowed never to let her sexuality control her as it did her mother.

To escape the embarrassment and shame Petra caused her, Katrin applied herself to her studies and applied to Starfleet Academy as soon as she was able.

Personality profile:

Katrin is very quiet. She doesn't talk much but she is always listening. She is withdrawn around men. Her physical beauty attracts men so she tries to avoid them.

To avoid being taken against her will Katrin learned many of the Terran martial arts from an officer on the base where she grew up. She is very able to defend herself in hand-to-hand combat and not at all shy about doing so.

Special notes:

Katrin has a harsh temper that releases itself in physical ways, often getting into fights. She also has a strong hatred for slavery and women who are treated as sexual objects. Combining these two things often leads to problems during shore leaves.
