Illinois Trip Reports

In the summer of 2006, Christy and I took a cross-country road trip. Our goal was 4 weeks of hiking, biking, and backpacking in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado. Our first stop though, was in Chicago, where we spent a couple of days visiting friends and seeing the city. One of the highlights of the visit was a bike ride on the Lakeshore Path from our friend's place near Wrigley Field into downtown.

In April, 2017 Christy I did a week long road trip through the deep south and parts of the midwest, ending with a day in southern Illinois. We camped at Ferne Clyffe Falls State Park and hiked at Jackson Hollow and Garden of the Gods. Photos.

In May, 2017 a work assignment in suburban Chicago gave me the opportunity to hike to some of the canyons and waterfalls in Starved Rock State Park. Photos.
