The Band of Travelling Adventurers are a Band of Adventurers who Travel about and fight evil. They are S.C.Roberts, the leader of the Band, S.T.Lindsay, the Band's mightiest warrior, R.J.Parker, the skilled and silent commando, and J.M.Verrill, member of the mighty Order of Afro'd Mystics and greatest mage of his time.
The Band of Travelling Adventurers met at some distant point in time while shopping at the magnificent boutique we all know as ye Olde Shoppe of Discountes whence A unto Z. Previously, each of the members had been fighting evil in their own small ways but they had not hoped to fight the might of Bowron and his henchmen.
The first encounter between two future members happened as S.T.Lindsay, looking for an axe to cut extraneous branches off a tree in his garden, mistakenly tripped over the outstreched foot of S.C.Roberts as he browsed the sledgehammers, looking for a handle to match the mystically charged head he had found in a skip only days previously. The two recognised the glint of a hero in each other's eyes, and with the aid of J.M.Verrill, who was wandering past looking very pleased with his new bolt cutters and with obvious power crackling around his afro, selected the sharpest and most mystically potent axe, and the stoutest sledgehammer handle. As the three wandered out of the Shoppe, worried vaguely about appearing like the Three Stooges, they heard the revving of a tractor. They turned in time to see R.J.Parker pull up atop a mighty yellow vehicle. "Fancy a lift?" he said. And so the Band was born.
