:: Redroi is running scans of ship's systems, when something strange 
shows up::

REDROI: "Sir, something strange is showing up on all ship's systems."

MCCLOUD: "Strange? What do you mean, Dusty?"

REDROI: "Not sure, Captain. All shipboard sensors have been 
affected by something, I just can't tell what it is."

MCCLOUD: "Why not? What are you reading?"

REDROI: "Well, truthfully sir, it appears that all systems are 
being, well, _dunked_ in _water_, sir."

TOLBIN & MCCLOUD: "_What_?"

INGOLDO: "Confirmed, sir. Something is affecting all ship systems. 
Origin unknown."

REDROI: (Thanks, Ensign)

INGOLDO: (You are welcome, Ensign)

REDROI: "If I may make a supposition, sir, it may be coming from the 
anamoly, through our probe."

TOLBIN: "What makes you say that, Redroi?"

REDROI: "Well, sir, there have been several incidences in Starfleet 
history of starships being affected by data streams from various 
sources."

MCCLOUD: "Yes, I remember reading about James Kirk avoiding 
catastrophe during the V'Ger incident by shutting _down_ a sensor 
probe. Are we receiving any info from _our_ probe, Commander?"

FORD: "Yes, sir, though the scans are nowhere near complete."

MCCLOUD: "What do you think, Number One? Should we shut it down, or 
see if there is another source?"

TOLBIN: "As a precaution, we should shut it down, until we determine 
the true cause."

MCCLOUD: "I agree. Commander, shut down the probe."

FORD: "Aye, sir" :: As Ford tries to shut down the probe, a ear-
splitting whine fills the bridge:: ::Shouting:: "Unable to shut it 
down sir. Something is blocking our commands."

MCCLOUD: ::Shouting as well:: "Understood. Ingoldo, Redroi, what is 
making that noise?"

INGOLDO: ::Shouting:: "Unable to ascertain that information, 
Captain, but it is shipwide."

REDROI: ::Shouting:: "Confirmed, sir. All decks report the same 
whine."

OFF - I was going to make a terrible joke about wines, but I shall 
spare you all that, at least for now.
