:: Koptuka's analysis of the astrometric data received from the Memory Alpha
system is causing increasing confusion for her... she's never seen or heard
anything like this before. But that's why she's here, she reminds herself...

KOPTUKA <leaning back on her lab stool, trying to gather her thoughts> :
Computer, continue Astrometrics Specialist's log. :: Computer emits two
tones of different pitch, signifying compliance. :: I've analyzed the most
recent data from Memory Alpha, and I've compared it all with data received
at Starfleet Academy over the past fifty years, and I've come to the
conclusion that the anomaly at Memory Alpha is causing a visual ripple
effect that causes our sensors to see space in that system as though it's
under water. Bodies in the vicinity aren't physically affected, it seems, at
least not the way I would expect, for they still have the same mass, rate of
rotation and revolution... I am reconfiguring Astrometrics sensors to see
inside the anomaly... End Log. :: Computer beeps an interval opposite the
one it used when opening the log. :: Computer, transmit to the Captain's
Ready Room all reports an analyses completed today, and inform Captain
McCloud that they're there.
