Off: Not sure how's this suppose to go, but here goes nothing. J'Dar is in his quarters, unpacking the remaining items of his personal possessions, when the chime on his door rings out. J'Dar (Slumping over unpacking a box and with his back to the door - yells): COME! Enters Jonathon Ford, Commander, Chief of Security. When he walks in he looks around seeing what a mess the quarters are with empty boxes all over the place. At first, he seems a bit annoyed with all this clutter, then he grins as if he was remembering a long forgotten memory. He see his newest member of his team, slumping over a box. Ford (Clearing his throat, and in a mocking voice): Ensign, do you need some help unpacking? J'Dar (with his back to the speaker and not realizing whom he is speaking to): No, that's alright. I have got it. Actually I like doing this myself. I think the term you humans say is, Thanks anyway. At that point, J'Dar stands up as he pulls out a Klingon ba'leth out of the box. This is the first time Ford sees, what has become a local urban legend aboard the ship, just about how big his new Assistant Security Officer really is. He is amazed by the size and height of J'Dar. He stands there at first in awe and wonder, and then he composes himself. Ford (Looking more stern): Well, Ensign, I hope you'll have these quarters in ship shape the next time I come in here. J'Dar turns around and sees Ford standing. He automatically stands at a attention, dropping the Ba'leth to the floor. Smiling to himself, and picking up the fallen weapon, Ford looks up at J'Dar. Ford (holding the Ba'Leth): Is this yours, Ensign? J'Dar (Looking down slightly and in embarassed): Yes, Sir. Ford (Handing him the weapon): Do you know how to use this, Ensign? J'Dar (Holding the Klingon weapon at a attention): Yes sir, I know how to use this weapon. Including several other weapons as well, sir. Ford turns his back to J'Dar and looks around the room. He notices on the floor, as well on the chairs and sofa, a array of weapons scewed about J'Dar's quarters. He sees a Ferengi Energy weapon on the chair, a Cardasian energy weapon still in the box sitting on the floor, a Romulan Plasma rifle leaning against the coffee table, and a old style Federation phaser pistol lying carelessly on the floor. Ford (turns back around): You know how to use all these weapons, Ensign?? J'Dar (Still at a attention): Yes sir! I have been cleared with Starfleet Security on all these weapons, Sir. Ford (Smiling to himself again): Very impressive, Ensign. Oh by the way, At ease before you strain something. J'Dar lays the Ba'Leth back into the box. Looking a bit embarassed about the way his quarters looked. J'Dar (as he starts clearing off a chair): Sir, I am sorry for the mess. My things just arrived today. Would you like to sit down. Ford (looking around and still standing): No, Ensign, that's ok. I was just remembering my first command. My quarters looked exactlly the same as this. So please dont be embarassed by this impromptu inspection. I just wanted to welcome you aboard and see how you are making out. J'Dar (looking puzzled): "How I am making out", Sir? Ford (looking at him): Yeah, wanted to see how you are settling in. J'Dar (smiling to himself and little more relaxed): I am ... adjusting, Sir. I didn't realized, just how big these quarters really are. Ford: Well, I assumed you'll do fine. (He walks to the door, he turns around). Well, I got to be heading off and finish greeting the rest of the team. I hope you'll have this mess picked up by the time we are under way, Mister? J'Dar (Standing there at a attention with the box with the Ba'Leth in his big hands, looking again very serious): Yes, Sir!! Ford (Walking out the door): Very good, and again, Welcome aboard Ensign J'Dar. We have to sit down sometime and have a chat about yourself. J'Dar (Still holding the box): Yes, sir. Looking forward to that. The door closes, J'Dar sighs with relief, as he settles the box back on the floor and begins on to unpack. Ford walks to the turbolift, and smiles to himself: Damn that's a big man. I just hope he doesnt break anything in his quaters or on the ship. Off: I hope that was ok, this is my first time doing soemthing like this.
