ON: (USS Excalibur, Bridge) Cdr. Ford: ::Before Mr. Ford left the Bridge, to continue his work, He wanted to show the Asst. the ropes of the job, but that meant excusing him from the bridge duties, but he knew the Captain would understand:: Cdr. Ford: "Well, if it would be acceptable, I would like to get Asst. J’Dar formally with his job, in Security" Captain: "Of course not, carry on Cdr. Ford" Mr. Ford: ::The captain continued to leave the bridge, and enter the Ready Room:: Cdr. Ford: “Thank you sir. ::They both left the Bridge, and headed for the Security Officer, to begin his work, in training:: Cdr. Ford: ::While they where in the turbo lift, making there way to the office, Mr. Ford thought it would be right, to ask how he is doing?:: Cdr. Ford: “So, how do you like this new ship? I hope it is not to intimidating, for you?” ::His eyes, staring at the doors:: J‘Dar: “Of course not sir, ::He then paused, then replied:: well, maybe_a_bit, but I’ll get use to it. ::As he replied in a deep voice:: J’Dar: “I would like to thank you, for choosing me to be on your staff. ::He pause to take a breath:: I have not had a lot of offers from other ships, since I am the only one of my kind, to join Star Fleet.” Cdr. Ford: “I believe that everybody deserves a chance, to make something of them self’s, and at times, it is hard, but if you want something bad enough, you should go for it, and see what happens.” J‘Dar: “As I did, for Star Fleet, my family was apposed to it, but for the sake of my life, and my future, I had to defy them. I knew if I did not, I would regret it, something I could not let happen” Cdr. Ford: “I can understand that, the Hydroia species have always been eerie about joining Star Fleet, they have at times, launched a un-lawful attacks on Federation Out-post.” ::As he said, with a modest tone, not intended to blame J‘Dar, but to make a stament:: J‘Dar: “And for that, I deeply apologize for the species actions” ::As he said, to clear away any hatred, that Ford might have for him:: Cdr. Ford: ::He imm. Replied, to ease his mind, for any confusion:: “You don’t have to apologize, I do not blame somebody, just because they are the same race, or they come from the same family. Everybody makes mistakes, that is normal, it what they do after what counts. J‘Dar: ::He then turn his head, towards Ford:: “Like me?” ::He then turns back to the turbo lift:: Cdr. Ford: “Correct, it takes allot to do, what you did, and that I admire. In the past, I have also made a few mistakes that I still regret, but I worked hard, to get where I am now. It is never easy, to have a past that haunts you, I know far to well.” Cdr. Ford: ::They finally, stepped of the turbo lift, and headed for the officer, while walking, they continued to talk:: J’Dar: “You_have_past, that haunts you? Cdr. Ford: “Not everyone as a spotless pass” ::Chatting while his eyes were trained there path:: Cdr. Ford: ::After training J’Dar in the Security procedures and inputting all access codes into his stations, he then gave him his first assignment, which was, to go through the Security grid, and making sure, that (0) anomaly’s were found, Mr. Ford did not want any clichés to occur, when they left space dock. Cdr. Ford: ::Once that was completed, he left Ensign J’Dar alone to his work, and he headed, to the HydroPonics, making sure that nothing was transported aboard, that did not go through regular channels. Mr. Ford: ::As he looked around, he noticed the breath taking landscape of flowers, and plants, for some reason, he felt at home here, maybe it was a memory, or a thought, or maybe the flowers reminded him of someone..:: Mr. Ford: ::He continued at his work:: Cdr.
