will give them one more day, then re-write it (& pray it is what I 
wrote originally!)

ON - {Turbolift, heading for bridge}

Dusty ::pacing inside lift:: (these lifts are not as smooth as they 
should be. I wonder if someone has been messing with the I-
chips)::Redroi opens a panel, peers closely at the chip alignment::
(aha! Here is the culprit)::Redroi pulls a chip out, & the lift 
stops::(Oh, poo. What did I do?) =^= Redroi to the bridge=^=::no 
response::=^= Ensign Redroi to the bridge, please respond=^= (Oh, 
boy. So the lifts are down, as well as communication. Let me 
replace this chip, & get to my station, find out what is going on):: 
Redroi replaces the I-chip & the lift starts again, jerkily::
::Lift arrives on the bridge. Redroi is stunned by the beauty & size 
of it all:: (Oh, my! I have seen the designs, but this is so much 
better than I could have ever imagined)

Ford: May I help you Ensign?

Redroi: Ensign Dusty Redroi reporting for duty, Sir.

Ford: Ah, welcome aboard, Ensign. There is your station. Need 
anything?

Redroi: No sir, I want to check on the lifts. I have taken 2 
different ones so far, & they are not operating as they should. I 
saw someone has been messing with the I-chips, & I wanted to check 
the alignment schematics.

Ford: Very well, Ensign, though I may want to warn you the Captain is 
the one that was "messing" with the I-chips.

Redroi: Oh, well then. Thank you Commander. And call me Dusty, if 
you wish. :: Heads for Ops station :: Computer, run level 1 
diagnostic on all turbo lifts, & associated programs, specifically 
communications.

Computer: Acknowledged. Diagnostic will take 1 hour, 12 minutes.

Redroi: Thank you computer. Let me know when diagnostic is complete.

Ford: Get settled in ok, Ens... Dusty?

Redroi: Well, not yet Sir. When I noticed the lift problem, I just 
tossed my stuff in my quarters & came to the bridge. I was hoping to 
find the First Officer here. 

Ford: She is in the Ready Room, meeting with our new Astrometrics 
Specialist. She will be out shortly, & I know she wants to meet with 
you as well.

OFF- Hope everyone is having a good day! I am enjoying this more &
