Off: Forgive me, guys... I was kept away briefly by a bad allergy attack lasting several days followed by a two-day migraine... no kidding... but I'm back now & all better :) On: Time: Before torpedo launch & before probe launch Location: The Bridge :: Ensign Koptuka was manning Science Station Two to monitor the torpedo launch and probe activation, and to analyze the immediate aftereffects. Ingoldo activates the Science Station One to observe the progress of the torpedo and probe. The torpedo enters the storm at the correct angle. It penetrates the eye of the storm travels deep within it. :: _______ Large flash of light shows on the Main Viewer______ :: The probe goes in the path of the torpedo. :: Time: After the shockwave :: Koptuka wakes to hear Commander Tolbin and Dr. Fredericks talking. The Captain is unconscious, on the floor in front of the Captain's seat, and Tolbin and Fredericks are at his side. Emergency lights are on, and any computer panels that manage to be on are flickering. Koptuka's ability to see is perhaps better than most currently on the Bridge, so she adjusts fairly quickly to the light level. She takes stock of her condition, decides the pain she's in isn't of urgent concern. A bit dizzy, she slowly helps herself up by putting her weight on her left wrist, as her right one is throbbing. :: TOLBIN: "I think he has a concussion." FREDERICKS: "He does" ::saying as she reads her tricorder:: "I want him taken to his ready room, and can you give him this‹it will not worsen his condition." ::she holds out a standard injector:: TOLBIN: "Sorry, Doctor, I have to watch the bridge." ::she looks at Koptuka, who is standing up from her fall:: "Koptuka, take the captain to his ready room and do anything the Doctor says." KOPTUKA: "Aye, Sir." ::Bending her elbows to lift the Captain below his shoulders without causing further damage to her own wrist, she drags him gently to the ready room after getting an injector and some medication from the Doctor.:: TOLBIN: "Who of the senior staff is down?" ::That's the last thing Koptuka hears before the Ready Room door shuts behind her. Once inside, she settles the Captain comfortably on the couch, and she reasons to herself whether to elevate the feet or the head. She decides that if there were internal bleeding from his head injuries, Dr. Fredericks would have said so, so Koptuka propped one of the couch cushions under his lower legs. She removes her lab coat, wincing a little when she forgets how simply removing your coat can hurt an already badly hurt wrist. She then covers him with the coat, and tries to tuck it in around him as much as she can. She fills the hypo she was given with the supplied medication, and she injects the Captain with it, as instructed by Dr. Fredericks. She then goes back to the door, but not to leave‹instead she accesses an emergency panel near the door that houses a first aid kit, rations, palm beacons, a tricorder and other emergency supplies. Taking the first aid kit and the tricorder, she goes back to the Captain. First taking readings on the Captain, then herself, she applies a cold compress to the Captains head and a cold wrap to her wrist, and she fills the hypo again with some pain medication from the kit for herself. She then intends to keep watch over the Captain, taking periodic readings and reapplying his medication as Dr. Fredericks instructed, with only emergency power on, she couldn't do much analysis done, anyway... shortly thereafter... Captain McCloud wakes, disoriented (still in low light), and tries to sit up. Koptuka quickly moves to prevent him from sitting up, and... :: Koptuka: Captain, you have a concussion. You need to be still. :: activating the tricorder to take more readings :: OFF: OK, Captain... you want to take it from here, now that you're awake again? ;) Ensign Beth Koptuka Astrometrics Specialist USS Excalibur NCC-2997
