ON:

LOCATION: (My Quarters on Deck 8)

:: Nurse Welmen and Capler help me into my quarters, and help over to 
my sofa. My muscles were hurting so bad, cramping up and throbbing. 
But I didn't say anything, I didn't want anyone to know. I just 
wanted to get back to work. ::

Nurse Capler: "How are you feeling Counselor?"

Jade: "Fine, thank you very much, you both can be excused now."

Nurse Capler: "Yes ma'am but if you need us you contact us 
immediately."

Jade: "Thank you but I won't be needing anyone, I will be fine now 
that I am out of sick bay."

Nurse Welmen: :: Looks at Nurse Capler and then back at me. :: "Very 
well we will leave then."

:: They both leave my quarters and return to Sick Bay. ::

:: I sit there for a moment, just thinking about all that has 
happened in the last few days. I wondered if all our missions would 
turn out like this. ::

:: I look out the window at the stars so far away, wondering which 
one was Earth. I missed my family and friends back home. I knew 
that I needed to write them but I had been so busy, mainly stuck in 
Sick Bay, to write to anyone. ::

Jade: "Computer compose a letter for me to be sent to my mom on 
Earth in a State by the name of Texas, city, Dallas."

Computer: "Acknowledged."

Jade: "Dear Mom and Dad, I am doing fine here on the USS 
Excalibur. We have really busy with our new mission and all, but we 
are hoping that things will be over before too much longer. I am not 
sure about all the things that you might have heard, so please don't 
believe everything you hear and read. Our mission is hard right now, 
but we are the best crew in the Fleet, so no need to worry about 
anything. I have made some friends, mainly the XO. She is really 
awesome, and works really hard. She figure out my love for lattes 
and created me an expresso machine, so that I could have a real 
latte, but now all I need is some real coffee. So, if you get the 
chance will you send me some. I have also met one of the doctors 
that I really like, her name is Kelley. She is very good at what she 
does, and enjoys her job. She has a great bedside manner. And I 
seemed to have caught a young mans eye here on the ship. His name is 
CDR Jonathan Ford. I know, I know, don't get serious with anyone 
right now. Especially after my last. But mom you must remember, I 
was the one who ended it with him. I didn't want that kind of 
relationship, I wanted to be a Counselor on a Starfleet Ship, A ship 
mom, not one stuck on a starbase or on Earth. I know that I am in 
alot more danger on a ship then anywhere else, but that is the risk I 
took when I signed up at Starfleet. I miss you both, and I'll 
contact you soon as possible. I love you and I'm safe. Your 
daughter, Crystal."

Jade: "Computer end composition and send the letter please."

Computer: "Acknowledge."

:: I close my eyes and begin to drift off. ::

:: A few minutes later I am sleep. ::

Captain: "All hands brace for impact."

OFF:: What will happen to all of us?
