Kurtan grew up a normal kid in Treve, his goal was to become one of the famed wing riders of Treve, but his hopes were dashed when during the right of passage the fates placed him in between the warrior and worker castes. After several tests he was excepted into the Arak'bar guild or engineering guild. This is where he excelled, earning top honors among all the intiates in the guild and was the youngest ever to gain the title journeymen. At 18 years old he was accepted into the Fleet Academy engineering program where he continued his studies. At 21 he graduated with top honors and was assigned to the shipyards orbiting Zoa, where he was part of the design team. He came up with a new warp drive system called the coaxial warp drive and was promoted to a full Lieutenant. Grand Admiral Reechis noticed this young Lieutenant and offered him the post as Master of Engineering on board his flagship the Rokken. He galdly accepted. this post, one did not turn the admiral, though he wished to oversea the tests on his coaxial warp drive. He nonetheless became a value part of the crew, as he was able to analyze any alien technolgy in an instant due to his psi skill of cyberkinesis.

Physical Description: The average Zoan stands tall around 6’8” has a skull pretty much like human. They have a twin sit of 3” dorsal fins along there back beginning at their neck and continuing all the down to the base of the back. From the wrist to the elbow on each arm they have a hardened pectoral fin made out of cartilage and can be used as a weapon if necessary. Biological extras: They have a dual respiratory system which allows them to breathe in water and outside air. There gills have to be kept wet., plus they have a layer tissue about them and dense muscular and skeletal structure which allows them to endure the pressure of the ocean at 500,000 feet They have groups of fairly complex nerve endings that allow them to conduct and emit electricity at will they can discharge electricity at 1200 volts. These two races fought each other in a series of wars to mutual extinction. The two races intermarried however and produced a hybrid race of people. These two were carrying a war of constant warfare like they forebears but they didn’t have the technology that there ancestors did but they were heading for genocide anyway until one man a bastard child of a minor clan who some compare as combination Ghangis Khan and Jesus Christ brought peace to his people and set them on the path to civilization.
