Hi Mark,
I went out yesterday for the first time to your
fields in a long time, and I took these pictures so that you could see what I
saw: A beautiful piece of land! Pio tells me that they've mowed the grass
again, and the lands look even more beautiful than when I first saw it! Please see captions on pictures and more
notes below, after all pictures. Also,
scroll down to the bottom to get the rest of the letter...Thanks!
This is
entering at the corner of your lands, at the intersection of road near your
house and near the house across the road.
Looking
down to the bay at the corner of your lands.
The red
circles are the babies of the bananas, ready to be planted.
Close
up of a baby.
Ready
to be harvested!
The following three pictures show the end boundary
of where we planted the bananas (about 5 acres) and the neighboring acreage
where we plan to plant more bananas...per your decision, of course. As you can see, they've mowed and cleaned up
your lands pretty nice!
This is the entrance.
This is
immediately to the right of the entrance.
...to
the right, going in a bit further...
right at the stream, and on the other side is
the planted ginger...
...and
here is the planted ginger...ready to harvest in about 2-3 months.
...and
the road to the right of the ginger, after the little stream...
...and
your land after the little stream, to the right of the road, right of the
ginger...
...and
going a bit further on the road, you can see your house in the distance...
...and
to the left of the road, after our planted ginger....remember when there were
planted vegetables here? All cleared
up! The pigs really got to the
vegetables and the ginger...you'll notice we put up a little fence surrounding
the ginger (see ginger picture).
...Your
lovely house up close. And the land is
cleared up really nicely!
...And
the bananas in the distance to the right...
...And
the little stream, bananas, and open acreage.
This is
to the right of your house...they're planting sweet potato.
Sweet potato planting...You can see the
bananas in the background, below the trees.
To the right of the sweet potato, you can see
we're going to continue to plant on down.
So, this is pretty much what you'll see on your
land, throughout the life of our contract with you. Hopefully you'll continue to let us renew our lease with you
long-term. So, let's both get your
contract fixed to where you're comfortable, and hope we can talk soon.
Side note:
Everything hopefully will be all right with the new landlord on the
Bishop Estate lands...apparently he's been doing the same thing to all the
growers! After this crop season, we
will not deal with him anymore! I
didn't tell you that to make you nervous or worried about our finances...we
will pay you every October, so please don't worry. Also, Pio is still waiting to hear on the parts of your
tractor...he ordered it, but it didn't come in yet. We'll fix it and make it work to the best of our ability, so
don't worry about it. It will all work
out in the end.
Well, have a great day and hope to hear from you
soon. Thanks for your undeserved
patience.
Sincerely yours,
Estrella R. Andres
