Chromodoris cazae

On my first dive on the wreck with Rita, I did not spot any nudibranchs at all, and when we surfaced she told me that she had seen several, but had not bothered to tell me as she had thought I had seen them.

Fortunately we were making a second dive, so she promised to show me where she had seen them, and she found two Chromodoris cazae named after Carole Harris, who used to dive these waters until several years ago when she moved to Australia.

Woo hoo was on a complete high as I had never seen these before, and after a quick browse of my reference books and an e-mail to Nathalie Yonow, all was confirmed, and I then e-mailed Carole Harris to tell her that her discovery still lives on.

On my most recent dive, I found SIX of them, including two mating and one leaving a ribbon of eggs, this is going to be a key spot for these little critters and I hope they continue to be here.
