Chapter 20
Ara placed the flowers down on Kwaceys grave.She smiled softly as she patted the top of the stone.
'Ara,it's time."Jeffs voice came into her mind.
'Time for what?'She asked,but he was already gone.
She appeared in the Great room.This was the first time all seven had been in the room.She looked around noticing that everyone was there except Britney and Nick.
'Nick,where are you?'She asked.
He smiled,feeling her jealousy.
'Not where you think I am'
Ara rolled her eyes as he appeared infront of her.The Elders all stood about a foot away from the left wall.They didn't know what would happen,but they knew what the Destined had to do.Britney walked into the room next.A white light illuminated from the circle of colors on the wall.It was brighter than the other colors that surrounded it.
"What now?"Tony asked.
"Step onto your colors."Tamika ordered.
They all walked to the circle in the room.None of the colors were lit up,untill they stood on them.Ara was at the top,Nick to her right,then AJ,then Britney faceing almost directly infront of Ara,then Matt,and Tony.Brian looked at all of them,their faces lit up by the colors from the squares under them.Brian then stepped forward onto his color,the color coming up and surrounding him in Red.The instant he stepped on his color he fealt an over abundance of Faith.He could swear that he fealt his heart swell as warmth coursed through his entire body,becoming one with his blood,flowing through his veins,and pulsing with his pulse.A second after Brian stepped on his color,the middle square lit up.The seven,a long with the Elders,were forced to close their eyes as the light blinded them.All of them absentmindedly turned their heads up to try to avoid directly looking at the light,but it was no use.The light had filtered out and crawled across the floor,climbed the walls,and exploded into brilliance on the ceiling.The ground shook lightly,but none of them dared to open their eyes and find out why it was,or exactly what was happening.The colors of the seven grew brighter and stronger.Each color shooted up into the ceiling like a narrow spotlight,but didn't spread.Then as quickly as it had came,it left.All sensing that the light was gone opened their eyes.Their squares were glowing,but not with the same intensity as they had when the white light had emerged.The white light was glowing also still,the same as the other seven colors were.The squares had risen out of the ground,and the seven who were so wrapped up in the emotion that had overflooded them,hadn't even realized they were rising.The feeling wasn't as intense now,but it was still there none-the-less.All of their auras were brighter also.One by one,starting with Matt,they stepped backwards off of the squares.
"There's something inside of them."Nick muttered.
All of them looked inside,finding a small box.Brian grabbed his box,and scurried over to the white square to retrieve the one inside of that.
Ara stared at hers,scared of what might be inside.The boxes were small,about 3 inches tall,and 4 inches in length and width.They were also steel,and no matter how hard she tried to lift the top,she couldn't.
"Put your thumb over that little button thing,right by the lid in the front."Tony said.
Ara looked,and found a small blue peice of circular steel that stuck out about a centimeter from the box.It was blue,and surrounded in dark gray steel.She put her thumb over it and watched as the top slowly opened.
"The white one is already opened.It's got a..paper in it.Matt.."Brian said.
Nick watched as Ara slowly lifted the amulet from the box.It was hanging on a small metal linked chain.The amulet itself was about an inch high,and an inch in length.A blue circle was centered in the middle,but on the top was a small white circle.On the bottom and both sides were small black circles.Ara raised her eyebrow,and looked over at Nick,who was looking at her all this time for the exact same reason.Except the three circles on his were blue.
"Okay..let's see here."Matt said,taking the paper.
"What does it say?"Brian asked.
Ara walked over to Nick and looked at his amulet,just as Nick looked at hers.They both looked up at eachother,and then over to Matt as he started talking.
"To the Destined: I am more than thrilled to know you have all come together.Take these and wear them always.When the time comes,you'll know what to do.There's something in the box that you'll find usefull as well.The Elders will know what you are to do with it.Good Luck."Matt finished.
Brian reached inside the box,and pulled back some of the white velvet.He retrieved something,and stared at it in his hand.
"What is it?"Britney asked.
"A key."
They all looked up at Jeff questioningly.
"Destined..time is wearing thin.I suggest you learn as much as possible from the old testaments.You don't have much time."
