Chapter 17
A week had passed sence that night of bringing the seventh in.Nick and Ara hadn't uttered one word to eachother,mentally or out loud.Nick thinking that she liked Kwacey,and Ara thinking that he found no more time for a nobody now that Britney was here.She found the line being drawn between herself and Nick,not the 'nobodys' and the celebritys.She got a long with AJ and Brian amazingly,and her and Britney were just fine,although Ara did get jealous of her.
Ara wasn't the only one not talking to Nick.Neither was AJ.He was pretty pissed at the fact that Nick had proven him wrong in his statement to Ara about him.Nick had yet to find that out.
Ara and Kwacey had a flourishing friendship.With Nick no longer wanting to be in Aras life,it left a large space open in which Kwacey happily filled.Though the physical attraction was no longer there,he was still there for her emotionally as Nick had been.That pissed Nick off beyond belief.
Britney was an amazingly fast learner,despite what they had all first thought.Though it made her sick to think she had to go against her boyfriend,and in the end one of them would have to die,she still valued her life.She loved Justin,but not enough to give her life and thousands of others,just for the sake of his evilness.
Everyone was now seated in the Dinner room,except Kwacey who hadn't been feeling all that well.Everyone was talking excitedly about what was to come in the next week or so,except Nick and Ara who keapt shooting eachother nasty looks and evil glares.
Brian sighed,watching as his two friends went from liking eachother to hating eachother,all in one night.He knew it was just a misconception on both their parts,but neither of them would admit why they were upset at eachother.Try as he might,neither would believe it untill the other person told the other how they fealt.
Ara swung her feet underneath the table,purposely kicking Nick a few times.Nick growled before catching her leg and squeezing it inbetween his calves.He stopped once a yelp escaped her lips.Ara pulled her leg up onto the chair to rub it,all the while giving Nick an evil glare.He returned it,and it soon turned into a game of staring to find who blinked first.Aras eyes filled with water and she squinted them to make the stinginess go away.
"That's against the rules!"Nick yelled out.
"It is not!"
"Yes it is!You can't squint!"
"Yes you can!"Ara yelled back at him,kicking him in his leg.
"That fucking hurt!"
"Good!"
Jeff shook his head thinking of how much they were acting like children.
"What's up with you two anyway?Lovers quarrel?"Matt asked,pretending he didn't know the truth.
"He wishes."
"Yeah right.I already got herpes from you dirty pussy when we had that one night stand!"Nick yelled.
Ara sat staring at him open mouthed.If he wanted to push her out of his life,than fine.But he did not need to insult her in that way.All this time that he was being a complete dick to her,and ignoring her,that's the one thing she heald onto.That one night of raw,intense passion.He went too far on that one,and Nick knew it.
She disappeared from the room,her emotions on over run.
"Fuck."Nick muttered.
"Did you really get herpes from her?"Tony asked.
"No!"Nick yelled out of frustration.
The whole room was silent as Nick stared down at his food.Some still shocked at what he said,and others silently hoping he would do the right thing.Nick was about to announce his departure,but snapped his mouth shut when the sound of a gun shot bit at the air.The whole underground realm that they had come to know as a second home,seemed to lay in complete silence.Nick could swear he heard a female voice shriek in the distance.
He had a terrifying thought as he disappeared,one name running through his head.
