Chapter 15
All eyes turned to Jeff as he cleared his throut.
"Fuck."Matt muttered,looking around at the mess they had created.
Everyone but Jeff,Tamika,and Britney burst out laughing.Once they settled down,Tamika walked slowly towards the table.She cringed as she stepped onto a meatball.
"Britney..this is Brian,Nick,Alex,Matt,Tony,and Ara.The other six.And this..is my son Kwacey."She said pointing everyone out.
"I'd shake your hands,but I'm scared too."
That broke everyone into laughter as they worked to clean everything up.
"I wish I had these powers when I was 10 and had to clean my room all the time."Tony muttered.
"For real,Dawg."Nick replied.
When they finished they all disapeared to go take showers.
After they all returned,the meal went without commotion or meatballs being thrown.They all relaxed afterwards,talking about anything that came to mind.Nick would glance over at Ara every once in a while to find her and Kwacey laughing about something or the other.A little while after Ara joined in with everyone else,the conversation turned into stories about being on the road.About performing,recording,and just the lifestyle of fame in general.
Ara sat back and watched as Nick began talking about girls picking peices of grass out of his lawn.That's when for the first time she realized just how out of her league he was.He was a superstar,and she was some girl from some other planet that was a nobody and had nobody.After this was all over,and if she made it out alive..she would probally never see Nick again.She then got to thinking that his attraction to her was only because she was the only female there that wasn't atleast 20 years older than him.Except for Britney,now.He would probally go for her now,and forget about Ara.
Also,for the first time,it seemed like a line was being drawn.Nick,AJ,Brian,and Britney on one side.With Ara,Tony,and Matt on the other.The celebritys in contrast to the nobodys.
Nick didn't seem to catch her thoughts,but AJ had.Nick did however catch the feeling of lonliness and sadness that washed over her.He paused his story and looked over at her.He searched her eyes for something,and tried to hear any thoughts that might give him a clue.All he heard was a thought to herself that was telling her to leave the room as soon as possible.He raised his eyebrow as he looked at her.She broke his gaze and looked over at Tony and Matt.They all exchanged glances before Tony and Matt disapeared.Ara stood up and walked over to Kwacey.He stood up and grabbed her hand before they disapeared.
Nick turned his attention back to the conversation to find Brian telling his own story.No ones eyes were on him except AJs.
'Why'd they all leave?'Nick asked him.
'Look whos at the table and whos not.'AJ replied.
Nick went on to name everyone that left and then to name everyone that was still there.
'No jackass.As in social standard.I'm a Backstreet Boy,A.K.A a celebrity..you're a celebrity..Brians a celebrity..Britneys a celebrity..Aras..NOT a celebrity.'
'That's why she left?'
'I was bored and poking through her head.She must have thought it was you or something,but for some reason you didn't hear what she said.I'm pretty damn sure that's why she left.Atleast part of it.'
Nick nodded and thanked him.He was about to leave,but Britney asked him a question,and he went to explain the highly amusing story.He forgot all about Ara in the process and only remembered once he realized that AJ was gone.
Still,he didn't leave.
