This is the ReadMe file for the Kzinti SFB True Type font.ttf and the Royal Kzinti SFB True Type font.ttf A note on placement of letters on the keyboard. Small letters are used mainly for both of these fonts. There is no letter X or Q in the Kzinti language. Several capital letters are used on the keyboard in both of these fonts to represent the extra Kzinti letters. A = z' D = s' F = tk G = gr H = hr I = kh J = nj K = kz L = ks N = ng R = rg S = sr T = th V = vr W = wr X = zr Y = ts Z = zh all other letters are represented on the keyboard by small letters and are the equivalent of those letters represented on the keyboard. The Kzinti number system is based on 8 rather than 10, so there are no numbers to represent 9 or 10. Number 9 would be written 8 and 1 or 8&1, while 10 would be 8 and 2 or 8&2. The number 17 would be 2 8's and 1 or 2x8&1. Number 90 would be written 8 8's plus 3 8's and 2 or 8x8+3x8&2. There are probably other ways to write octal numbers, but I'm not a mathematician. Roger Kuiper, October 2001 these fonts are based on the the Kzinti script presented in Nexus and Captain's Log magazines from Amarillo Design Bureau and Task Force Games for the board game Star Fleet Battles. Part of the script of Royal Kzinti SFB True Type font is based on the picture of the Imperial Conqueror dreadnaught by Todd Hamilton and James Clause on page 65 of The Guide to Larry Niven's Ringworld (c) 1994 Bill Fawcett and Associates under liscense from New Frontier Entertainment.
