After leaving Starfleet Academy with flying colours, Brandon received his first posting within two months, on board the Galaxy Class starship, the NCC - 1716 USS Venturer. After serving as transporter chief on the ship for two years, during which he reached the rank of full Lieutenant, Brandon began to get itchy feet, and when a vacancy came up on the USS Monarch, he accepted it.
The Monarch's special mission was as a medical supply vessel. The ship travelled from planet to Starbase to ship to planet, delivering urgent medical supplies to Federation member races in the Alpha and Beta quadrants. It was manned by mainly medical and science department staff.
Again, Brandon began to get frustrated, and after an altercation with Vulcan Commander Tanok, during which Brandon and five other crewmembers refused to accept orders, he was court martialled to Lieutenant Junior Grade.
A new posting presented itself on Deep Space Four, and Brandon immediately asked to transfer. Brandon was able to improve upon his reputation, and became a very popular and reliable member of staff under Commander Parker, the previous head of the station. He was able to round out his engineering experience here, and got stuck in to anything which presented itself. He learned to play chess, both two and three dimensional, and regularly entered tournaments, doing quite well in the process.
Four years later, and Arbarra decided to try Starships again.
