Info About Me

Hello. My name is Eric. I am a freshman in high school, and I am 14 years old. I enjoy running cross country and playing soccer. I like to make games on my TI-83+ calculator. I also enjoy getting on the internet to learn more about other religions and more about Christianity. I like to get on CARM.org and debate on their discussion boards. As you can tell from the below "Lyrics From Some of My Favorite Songs", my favorite group is Petra and my favorite singer is Rich Mullins.

Some of My Favorite Bible Verses

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made: without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it." John 1:1-5

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course." Psalm 19:1-5

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body." 2 Corinthians 4:7-10

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

Lyrics to Some of My Favorite Songs

Petra

If I Had To Die For Someone
Words and music by Bob Hartman
Based on John 15:13

I wear my seatbelt in the car I buckle up for safety I run for cover from the storm I wear a band aid on my knee I look both ways when crossing and I flee Any danger I can see And if I try each day to save my life in every way I can How could I understand the way You died for me (Chorus) 'Cause I don't know if I could even if I think I would If I had to die for someone If I had to die for someone else How could I ever give my life to set the guilty free When I cannot imagine If I had to die for someone else like me Someone else like me I keep away from falling rocks and I don't play with matches I lock the door I don't know why It seems to me I'm much too old to wear a scarf out in the cold But I want to live until I die I guess I love my life a little more than I should love it And if I had to I don't know if I could Lay it down And I am glad that You are not at all like me 'Cause You laid down Your life and did it willingly It still amazes me to know It's me that You were thinking of No One else could have a greater love

It Is Finished
Words and music by Bob Hartman
Based on John 19:1-30

In the heat of the early morning On a hill they call the Skull The roaring of the angry mob had settled to a lull All eyes were cast upon the man whose hands and feet were bound They saw him cry in anguish when they heard the hammer pound They watched the bloody woven thorns with which His head was crowned They watched the bloody cross of wood be dropped into the ground The soldiers gambled for His clothes, they watched them win and lose They saw the sign above His head that said "King of the Jews" (Chorus) (It is finished) And the sky grew black as the night (It is finished) And the people scattered in fright The work had been done, redemption had been won The war was over without a fight It is finished They searched His face for anger, for vengeance in His stare Instead of eyes that burned with hate a look of love was there He prayed for their forgiveness and bowed His battered head And no one knew the meaning of the final words He said The provision has been made The foundation has been laid He paid the ransom due and tore the temple veil in two And opened up the way for me and you It is finished

Enter In
Words by Bob Hartman
Based on Hebrews 10:19,20

Once a year for sacrifice just one priest could pay the price And step inside the inner veil to make the people free Temple stood the same for years till the Nazarene appears Things will never be the same since 33 A.D. When He spoke and bowed Hid head He who saved the world was dead Then the earth began to shake Heaven's wall began to break Opening the Holy Place The temple veil is torn in two The way is clear for me and you (Chorus) We can enter in, enter in Into Heaven's Holy place We can enter in, enter in Boldly by His blood we can approach His throne of grace We can enter in a new and living Way By our faith He will receive us when we pray Now without a second look we forget what all it took To be seen as innocent by His Holy eyes Never thinking foolishly there is something He won't see For our lack of righteousness there is no disguise He won't look the other Way Someone's life will have to pay Once for all it has been done Taken out upon His Son He remembers it no more Now for us He is the Door Opened up forevermore We can enter in, enter in We can enter in His gates with thankfulness and praise Into the once forbidden Holy place We can live in goodness and in mercy all our days We can enter in a new and living Way By our faith He will receive us when we pray We don't have to be afraid to seek His face We can enter in

No Doubt
Words by Bob Hartman
Based on James 1:6

There are times when you feel like you can't go on There are times when you feel like giving in And there are times when you feel like you can't try anymore There are times of trouble in believing This test of your faith will last As long as it takes to pass Till you have no more doubt you'll endure And your faith will emerge true and pure (Chorus) No doubt it'll be alright With God it'll work together for good No doubt in the end it will be understood No doubt it'll all work out With faith He can move any mountain for us No doubt in the power of Jesus And after all is done we find out All we really need to have is no doubt There's a time to take a reckless leap of faith There's a time to be cautious and to wait And there's a way of learning from the past That this time of trouble won't last And sometimes we want to think we know The ways He will choose to make us grow But it's never the way of our choosing And we can't always see what He's using There will be winters in the seasons of our soul With a cold and bitter wind that chills our lives But our faith can be building a fire That will warm us till springtime arrives

Think On These Things
Words and music by Bob Hartman
Based on Philippians 4:8

In solitary time the thoughts run through my mind Some from the very throne some origins unknown I know there's a danger waiting Thoughts held in captivity The vain imaginations that long to be set free I hold the key With thoughts of purity (Chorus) Whatever things are pure and true, (I want to) Think on these things Whatever things are filled with virtue Think on these things When my mind begins to stray I want to think the other way Think on these things Think on these things Into the conscious flow the tributaries go The source from which they start Abundance of the heart My mind has a mind of its own choosing negativity Only the thoughts of virtue Withhold the raging sea I turn the tide By choosing to abide Whatever things are honest Whatever things are just Whatever things are lovely I will put my trust In the things that never cease To keep my heart in perfect peace

Sometimes by Step
Rich Mullins and Beaker
Genesis 15:5-6, Psalm 62, Hebrews 12:1-3

Sometimes the night was beautiful Sometimes the sky was so far away Sometimes it seemed to stoop so close You could touch it but your heart would break Sometimes the morning came too soon Sometimes the day could be so hot There was so much work left to do But so much You'd already done Oh God, You are my God And I will ever praise You Oh God, You are my God And I will ever praise You I will seek You in the morning And I will learn to walk in Your ways And step by step You'll lead me And I will follow You all of my days Sometimes I think of Abraham How one star he saw had been lit for me He was a stranger in this land And I am that, no less than he And on this road to righteousness Sometimes the climb can be so steep I may falter in my steps But never beyond Your reach Oh God, You are my God And I will ever praise You Oh God, You are my God And I will ever praise You I will seek You in the morning And I will learn to walk in Your ways And step by step You'll lead me And I will follow You all of my days And I will follow You all of my days And I will follow You all of my days And step by step You'll lead me And I will follow You all of my days And I will follow You all of my days (Sometimes the night was beautiful) And I will follow You all of my days (Sometimes the night . . .) (Sometimes the night was beautiful) And I will follow You all of my days (. . . Was beautiful) (Sometimes the night was beautiful) And I will follow You all of my days (So beautiful) And I will follow You all of my days And I will follow You all of my days (Oh God, you are my God) And I will follow You all of my days (Oh God, you are my God) And I will follow You all of my days And I will follow You all of my days (Sometimes the night was beautiful) And I will follow You all of my days (Sometimes the night . . .) And I will follow You all of my days

Elijah
Rich Mullins
Second Kings 2:11, Matthew 6:19-21

The Jordan is waiting for me to cross through My heart is aging I can tell So Lord I'm begging for one last favor from You Here's my heart take it where You will This life has shown me how we're mended and how we're torn How it's okay to be lonely as long as you're free Sometimes my ground was stoney And sometimes covered up with thorns And only You could make it what it had to be And now that it's done Well, if they dressed me like a pauper Or if they dined me like a prince If they lay me with my fathers Or if my ashes scatter on the wind I don't care But when I leave I want to go out like Elijah With a whirlwind to fuel my chariot of fire And when I look back on the stars Well, It'll be like a candlelight in Central Park And it won't break my heart to say goodbye There's people been friendly, but they'd never be your friend Sometimes this has bent me to the ground Now that this is all ending I want to hear some music once again 'Cause it's the finest thing I have ever found But the Jordan is waiting Though I ain't never seen the other side They say you can't take in the things you have here So on the road to salvation I stick out my thumb and He gives me a ride And His music is already falling on my ears There's people been talking They say they're worried about my soul Well, I'm here to tell you I'll keep rocking 'Til I'm sure it's my time to roll And when I do When I leave I want to go out like Elijah With a whirlwind to fuel my chariot of fire And when I look back on the stars Well, it'll be like a candlelight in Central Park And it won't break my heart to say goodbye When I leave I want to go out like Elijah With a whirlwind to fuel my chariot of fire And when I look back on the stars Well, it'll be like a candlelight in Central Park And it won't break my heart to say goodbye The Jordan is waiting The Jordan is waiting Bye, bye

My One Thing
Rich Mullins
Matthew 5:8, Psalm 73:23-28

Everybody I know says they need just one thing And what they really mean is that they need just one thing more And everybody seems to think they've got it coming Well I know that I don't deserve You Still I want to love and serve You more and more You're my one thing Save me from those things that might distract me Please take them away and purify my heart I don't want to lose the eternal for the things that are passing 'Cause what will I have when the world is gone If it isn't for the love that goes on and on with My one thing You're my one thing And the pure in heart shall see God You're my one thing You're my one thing And the pure in heart shall see God Who have I in Heaven but You Jesus? And what better could I hope to find down here on earth? I could cross the most distant reaches Of this world, but I'd just be wasting my time 'Cause I'm certain already, I'm sure I'd find You're my one thing (one thing) You're my one thing (one thing) And the pure in heart shall see God You're my one thing (one thing) You're my one thing (one thing) And the pure in heart shall see God Every night and every day You hold on tight Or you drift away And you're left to live With the choices you make Oh Lord please give me the strength To watch and work and love and sing and pray 'Cause who have I in Heaven but You Jesus? And what better could I hope to find down here on earth? Well I could cross the most distant reaches Of this world, but I'd just be wasting my time 'Cause I'm certain already I'm sure I'd find You're my one thing (one thing) You're my one thing (one thing) And the pure in heart shall see God You're my one thing (one thing) You're my one thing (one thing) And the pure in heart shall see God You're my one thing One thing You're my one thing The pure in heart, the pure in heart One thing And I know that the pure That the pure in heart (that the pure in heart shall see God) And I know that the pure in heart shall see God And I know that the pure That the pure in heart (that the pure in heart shall see God) And I know that the pure in heart shall see God And I know that the pure That the pure in heart (that the pure in heart shall see God) And I know that the pure in heart shall see God That the pure in heart (that the pure in heart shall see God) And I know that the pure in heart shall see God And I know that the pure

Hold Me Jesus
Rich Mullins
First Kings 19:3-13, Matthew 11:25-30

Well, sometimes my life just don't make sense at all When the mountains look so big And my faith just seems so small So hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf You have been King of my glory Won't You be my Prince of Peace And I wake up in the night and feel the dark It's so hot inside my soul I swear there must be blisters on my heart So hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf You have been King of my glory Won't You be my Prince of Peace Surrender don't come natural to me I'd rather fight You for something I don't really want Than to take what You give that I need And I've beat my head against so many walls Now I'm falling down, I'm falling on my knees And this Salvation Army band is playing this hymn And Your grace rings out so deep It makes my resistance seem so thin I'm singing hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf You have been King of my glory Won't You be my Prince of Peace You have been King of my glory Won't You be my Prince of Peace
