Bible Difficulties

This is a page dedicated to explaining what some would call the Bible's errors. In truth, though, there is no error in the Bible, there is just a lack of understanding of many anti-Christians.

Genesis 1 and 2
Aren't Genesis 1 and 2 two separate creation stories that are contradictory?

Actually, Genesis 2 is providing a more detailed look at the creation of man. Genesis 2:4 says, "This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created." The heavens and the earth were created near the beginning. So when the Bible says next that "no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not yet sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground." (Genesis 2:5-6) it was telling the truth, because it wasn't the third day of creation yet. These verses are a recap of what happened in chapter 1. After that, there is a time skip of a few days, and it skips to Day 6, in which man was made. This is in no way a contradictory account, it is just a recap, and then an in-depth look at the creation of man.

Genesis 6:6
Does God change?

Malachi 3:6 says, "For I, the Lord, do not change...", but Bible verses such as Genesis 6:6, "And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart." seem to say that he does change. But what is misrepresented is that in the first instance, God was talking about his nature. God will never change his nature. However, he can, and it had been shown that he can change his mind about things.

Genesis 7:1
Have all people sinned or not?

Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." and many other verses clearly say that everyone has sinned. But the Bible calls Noah and many other people "righteous", for instance, Genesis 7:1, "Then the Lord said to Noah, "Enter the ark, you and all your household; for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time." This answer comes from Romans 4:3, "What does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." No one is righteous on their own. We clearly have to look to God if we want to be righteous. None of these people has never sinned, but they all trusted God and that was what made them "blameless" and "righteous".

Genesis 17:1
Is God able to be seen?

Verses like Exodus 33:20 say "But God said, 'You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!'" but verses like Genesis 17:1 clearly say that someone saw God: "Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, 'I am God Almighty; walk before Me, and be blameless;'". This is easy to explain if you understand the Trinity. God the Father is not able to be seen by man and live, however, the Word, which is Jesus, was the one who appeared to these men. He is God, but it still able to be seen by men and live.
